    No drilling of new holes need on my 2012 JD 925A EFI. I need to reinstall it with longer bolts and some washers between the bottom of suspension seat and mounting to mower to allow for clearance for the fore/aft adjustment of seat. Really smoothed out my ride. I mow 4.2 acres of rough lawn and pasture.

    I put tubes all the way around on my John Deere X710 and Husqvarna GT24K54 and run very low air pressure in the tires. Huge difference and more traction on the Husqvarna. X710 actually has a fairly good seat on it already but the Husky seat is a joke. No traction issues with the X710 with it's 26X12 rear tires and locking differential. Picked up an old GT 245 Deere as well that needed some work.Needless to say the Husqvarna will be sold soon. Even though the Husky has a Hydro gear 730 transmission and a 24 HP Kawasaki V-twin, both of the Deer will run rings around it..

    Great video. I just bought a suspension seat for my Ariens Ikon X. The ride is pretty bad and hopefully this helps soften it up. Unfortunately my seat doesn't have rails so I will have to fabricate some mounts for it, shouldn't be a big deal.

    I just added springs at all four corners to the bottom of the seat on Cub Cadet 54 ZRT (springs were from an old Craftsman tractor). It made a world of difference for a much smoother ride! It can be done to any mower, I would guess.

      What retains the springs ? I saw the same on another video but he did not go into detail

    • @HandyGuy2016

      The springs are a pull type, like on a trampoline with hooks at each end. They hook into the frame brackets.

    Probably still works the same & not worth the bother to change it to rails on bottom 😄

    Do you think this seat bracket would fit on a 2015 John Deere Z445?

      Not sure, but it should say what it is compatible for when ordering.

    So how are you liking this suspension seat so far? I have the isolated suspension kit installed from jd on mine when I bought the z920m Now wishing I would have got there 3 way suspension seat setup when I ordered the mower that would have ran an extra 480 then now. It will run you 8 to 1k for that. I am finding my yards have some rough terrain to mow and wanted to get a little smoother ride and was looking at that kit that would save me some money over the factory setup. Is it worth it after messing with it a little while thanks

    • @HandyGuy2016
      @HandyGuy2016  3 года назад

      It helped some, but I have now switched to Ferris mowers and the ride quality is not even comparable. The Ferris rides like a Cadillac.

    What is the working principle of this seat? How are the vertical vibrations reduced by the placing the springs in horizontal direction?

    • @HandyGuy2016
      @HandyGuy2016  3 года назад +1

      It simply reduces some of the shock when going over rough terrain.

    • @shubham_bhutada

    • @HandyGuy2016

      @@shubham_bhutada I see. The seat moves up and down even though the Springs run horizontal.

    Was it worth the money? Wanting to put one on my dixie Zee 2. DC's seat costs $600 for suspension. Is it that much more comfortable? Looking at this exact seat and happened to see your video. Would appreciate your input. New lawn and landscaping business.

    You're actually supposed to put this suspension system between the slider rails and the seat.

    • @HandyGuy2016
      @HandyGuy2016  3 года назад +2

      Correct and it should bolt on without drilling. I didn't know that when I did this video, but it still worked.

    Now that it's been a few years, how do you like it? Was it worth the investment or should I steer clear from this style of seat suspension? Thanks.

    • @HandyGuy2016
      @HandyGuy2016  2 года назад +1

      It's a good suspension seat, but Ferris has a much better one in my opinion. It is still working though.

    All you had to do is put the slide tracks under the suspension and bolt the seat to the top of it, like the instructions say... Then there is room for the suspension to move.

    You forgot the first major thing: You didn't let us know "if" it improved the ride.
    Second major thing: If it did, how much?
    Third major thing: You did not mount it correctly. No drilling required.
