- David proposed on a mountaintop and recorded it with his Samsung S10E. Then it fell in the ocean before he could back it up. To recover data from salt water damaged logic boards, sometimes CPU Swap is easier, and sometimes it's not. This video details how we make the call to SWAP or NOT.

Great timing for this video. Yesterday a bunch of Samsung S10 series owners found their phones boot-looping after the latest OTA firmware update by Samsung. Turns out that the SmarThings framework has a bug and crashes the phone, losing the data too. Yikes!
Can I have more info on this please? I have this exact boot loop problem. Is the data definitely lost?
Not definitely no. I would give Samsung a little bit of time to create a software update that will fix it. (This is about the sudden boot loop after automatic software update that happened on Oct 2 2024). Other S10 and S10E boot loops are also common and can be fixed with CPU transfer
@@JessaJones Thank you very much. I will be waiting a bit for a firmware update. If CPU transfer can solve the issue, I'll give it a try. Didn't know that this was even possible.
These videos are like therapy.
Great job recovering the data saving someone’s memories priceless
Nice to see you ❤
Good one Jessa. Liked the proposal video on the end ❤❤❤
Aww, how sweet! Nice fix!
Brilliant!!! What a repair =D
I rather solve data recovery jobs this way any day vs a CPU transplant, Awesome memory saved!
for those models i use usb c dongle which ends to hdmi, usb 3.0,sd and so on,just a mouse and a monitor
Make more videos please 🙏. Love jamil ❤
Great!
Awesome
Before you removed that first chip that was getting hot, you could have tried floating it with some good pure rosin. I like "X9 Rosin Flux (Mechanic)", which is the purest ive used.
The rosin also works really well with transfering chips without needing to reball.
Awwwwwwwwwww
180mA is a short to ground on a phone?
!Hi . I have a question and maybe someone can help me. I have an iPhone XR that doesn't work unless I apply heat to the CPU, and then it works excellent (all the functions) until the screen goes to sleep or I restart the phone.
why not to clean salty through board in ultrasonic cleaner first?
That’s a great question-I don’t because I’d have to take off ALL the soldered on shields, otherwise the ultrasonic cleaning fluid will be trapped inside. Taking off those shields is aggressive so I choose to spot clean with toothbrush and alcohol instead
@@JessaJones oh, thanks very much thought first you were gonna continue to use that entire s10 but for data recovery only you are right, US cleaner would be xtra hassle.
How does the connector survive the hot air with all that plastic?
As long as you don’t touch the hot plastic and stay under 400C it doesn’t mind
what solder to you use to remove the connector? Low melt or regular lead solder? Why cannot you apply a heat from bellow?
Always leaded. Low melt is bad for connectors because it is weak. You could apply heat from below if you wanted.
Wow😂😂
In your ventures which solder corrodes the worst, leaded or non?
Leaded solder is always best
