25 years of Woody Johnson's ownership has given us the following:
    Only one division title
14 consecutive seasons not qualifying for the playoffs
    5 General Managers
    7 Head Coaches
4 First Round Quarterbacks (only one who wasn't an undeclassman- Chad Pennington)
8 winning seasons (out of 25!!)
    2 8-8 seasons
    15 LOSING SEASONS!!!
Only 1 home playoff game in 6 playoff seasons.
I can go on and on...
Jets fandom is just so painful. Please make it stop!!!

His angle is seats filled jerseys sold instead of focusing on football he is focused on how to fleece the fans
We have had uniform changes logo changes that makes money it doesn't build a teams character and culture of winning

Brother, I just subscribed because you are the only one in the game who will talk about this. Let me say this Johnson is the executive producer of this biggest shit show on earth. He hires directors who are willing and able to after the A-list actors who are past their prime but still sell tickets. He needs these actors to cover up the shit script these writers have. Johnson does not care about winning he only cares about making money. There is more money to make in losing than there is in winning. When this team wins performance, bonuses need to be paid, and players who are up for new contracts want that big money at resigning . Johnson knows this team has stupid loyal fans who will spend and keep spending even when this team loses. Johnson knows what he is doing and is the best , it's just not what the fans think he should he doing.
As for hope , my man, you are spot on. I saw the writing on the wall after Rex left. He stock piles picks in the 15, so fans feel this team has a chance. Honestly, tho you do understand the Jets place in the NFL? How did the Jets ever become an NFL team? These questions have a lot to do with why this team sucks so badly. Awesome job !

It's really easy to understand how Woody feels about the fans and the players by looking at the stadium and the turf. One leaves the fans drowned on wet days whilst the other injures his players. That's it. The only way to get rid of Woody is to convince outside investors that the Jets are massively underperforming and yield significant potential for growth. That shouldn't be difficult. Because the other Owners are more loyal to the $$$ than they are to each other

  • @jimglatthaar4053

In my opinion, Woody Johnson acts more like a game show host than an NFL owner. For years we have heard the Jets are only a QB away. We now know we are much farther from the playoffs than we were told.
The Jets aren't a team; they are a group of individuals who play together.
The Jets aren't an organization; they are a group of people with certain job titles whose responsibilities can be re-aligned and re-assigned based upon one person's whim.
Bill Belichick, discussing Saleh's firing, said the Jets has slightly over 30% winning percentage over the last decade and somehow believed the problem was the head coach. When looked at from Belichick's perspective, Saleh was not the problem (certainly not over the past decade), the owner was.

Many years ago we got a whiff of there's something wrong with Woody when Belichick turned down the HC job. Who in their right mind does that and why would they do that? In the last few years we started to get internal leaks confirming what many had suspected that the owner was deeply involved in the day to day football decisions. Like Woody would call Saleh on a daily basis to give suggestions. This year with the firing of Saleh without consulting with the GM. Most recently revealed the Reddick negotiation was directly with the owner not the GM. I think he's been behind the scenes running the team like Jerry Jones. He only hires GMs and HCs that allow him to have full say over football decisions. I'm sure the Rodgers trade and subsequent actions that have undermined the coaches and gm is the reason this team doesn't function like a team. They're just a collection of mercenaries.

Jake Asman said on his show today that Detroit didnt change ownership yet theyre clearly a juggernaut....but they actually did change ownership from old man Ford/Martha Ford (1964-2020) to Shelia Ford Hamp (2020-present). They could never win with Martha or the old man.
The biggest difference was when Shelia took over in 2020 she fired everyone...then brought in football minds like Chris Speilman who then hired Brad Holmes/Dan Campbell.

As a lifelong Jets fan, I’ve been saying this about Woody Johnson for years. Look at two of our former quarterbacks, Sam Darnold and Geno Smith-neither are All-Pros, but they’ve proven to be solid enough to win elsewhere. I felt that the same mistake was made with Zach Wilson, with the right nurturing, could’ve been the next Aaron Rodgers. But whether or not they’re mishandling Wilson, the bigger issue is that there’s no clear plan and no patience. The team is a complete disaster. The only power we fans have is to stop supporting them-boycott Jets merchandise, stop attending games, and cut off anything that generates revenue for them. I’m officially done being a Jets fan until we get new ownership. Boycott the Jets.

    • @jerseymetalmike5111

I will never disagree that the Jets are bad at developing young players, but I'm not buying the Geno Smith / Sam Darnold were diamonds in the rough story. Both QBs had failed seasons with 2 other teams before landing with their current teams and finding success. Some QBs need time to develop; it's very rare for a QB to succeed their first few years with a team believe it or not. Zach Wilson is currently riding the pine in Denver as a 3rd string QB with a very good QB friendly coach. Remember he was supposed to sit behind Rodgers last year and learn, but that plan got blown up 4 plays into the seasons. Maybe he'll be burning up the league 5 years from now.

This current slide started when they fired Mike LaFleur. He was growing as an OC, and the offense looked great esp. when Zach wasn't starting. Look at the Cleveland game in '22 or the Bears game or the Vikings game. The offense has not looked that good since. When you give up on people like LaFleur and bring in worse talent at OC bc of Rodgers, you completely undermine everything that you were trying to build.

The Jets had a 7-4 record (hard to belive!) but lost lost the last 6 games of the '22 season and it was clear the offense was inept. OL and Breece injuries and Zach Wilson contributed to all that, and LeFleur was hired as a rookie OC (which probably wasn't the best idea). Ergo "Same Old Jets." Even a highly touted Joe Douglas draft picks have not been stellar or even close. Giving up precious draft picks for aging players makes no sense. Or rewarding aging players for contributions that they made to their prior teams. The Jets don't seem to develope players or give them the tools to succeed. Getting rid of players that contribute for nothing. eg. John Franklin-Myers. Or getting aging Aaron Rodgers has lost a lot on his fastball. eg. a pass that doesn't reach the receiver or an interception that would never have happened if the ball had more zip.

Woody spends money on the team. But it seems Woody will not properly vet and hire an experienced, qualified Head Coach with at least some track record with managing a winning football team (NFL or College).
All successful NFL teams have very good Head Coaches (like the Steelers HC as a recent example). Woody seems to hire only Assistants with Zero Head Coaching experience. My opinion is that he does this as he only wants Head Coaches that will do EXACTLY what he wants -- total subserviency to him. And we can see how that is working out. It's a total disaster.
Unless the above changes, I frankly do not see much hope for the Jets. The management formula being used by the Jets is just going to result in more of the same -- Continued Losing.

I think when Rodgers went down on play four, everyone got a mulligan. This wasn't supposed to be another Zach Wilson team. If Rodgers is healthy we probably go at least 10-7 and maybe better. Does Saleh "deserve" to get fired then? Was it Saleh's fault we didn't have a backup QB? Are you going to go to Saleh and fire him and say "Sorry, you were supposed to have a HOF QB but you went 7-10 with Zach Wilson again, so you're gone. We probably still could have gone 10-7 if we had a play caller that worth a dime, but we had Aaron Rodgers BFF calling plays for Zach. Is that Saleh's fault?
For that matter, is it Saleh's fault that they drafted Zach? Is it Saleh's fault they threw Zach into action right away because they didn't have a veteran on the staff to let him learn behind. Is it Saleh's fault Greg Knapp died?
I disagreed when Woody cut Chad Pennington for Brett Favre, and was proven right when the Dolphins won the division with Chad. THIS was really when the downfall began. Mangini was doing alright. The two championship games Rex got to coach were with Mangini's roster. If we'd kept Chad we'd have won the division that year. Instead, Manginious got fired and Rex is brought in. We shouldn't have gone for Favre, who never wanted to the here. We didn't;t need him.
That wasn't the case this time. We had no QB. Zach was a bust. I would have liked Derek Carr, but the truth is, he wanted no part of NYC and our media circus. Getting Rodgers was a bold move that gave us a shot at being a playoff team. It spared us drafting another rookie and waiting another 3-4 years for him to develop. If he stays healthy last year, who knows what happens? I'm curious to know how you would have handled the QB situation then.
You complain that Woody's firing Saleh shows that he doesn't have the patience to let things develop. But you yourself said you wanted to fire Saleh after last season. And who would you have hired? You've got Aaron Rodgers at QB, and his buddy calling plays, and neither of those two guys are going anywhere, so...who wants that job?
The only smart move was to blame the 7-10 season on Rodgers getting hurt. We probably should have won 3 or 4 more games even with Zach, but Saleh doesn't;t call plays. Joe Douglas spent considerable resources upgrading the O line. You run it back and hope Rodgers gets us to the promised land. And since you're giving Saleh one more shot, then when the press asks you back your guy. You don't throw him under the bus. But now you blame Woody for saying nice things about Saleh and then firing him after 5 games? Woody was probably convinced to let Saleh have one more go, but after 2-4 he couldn't contain himself.
I would have let Saleh run out the season. I think he was going to make the move to Downing himself. I think we've had a pretty tough early season schedule with road games at SF, Pitt. and (technically) Minnesota. We beat NE and Tennessee. The Denver game is the one that really hurt. Zuerline makes a FG and we win. Saleh's fault? Then Minny. Rodgers throws 3 picks including a pick 6. We lose by 6. Saleh's fault? Even after Saleh, Rodgers throws a pick 6 or as near as you can get, when we were up 15-6. Total momentum shift. Ulbrich's fault?
From my perspective YOU are the one who doesn't have the patience to see a project through. After the Texans game our schedule isn't that tough. @Buffalo may be the only really hard game left. I still think we can finish 10-7 and make the playoffs. You call getting Davante Adams "selling hope". I call it making a commitment to win in year when we're supposed to be all in. Woody isn;t giving up on this year season, and neither am I. Beat the Patriots!!!

It’s just Woody being Woody. He’s a senile billionaire turning everything to sh_t. It’s all a joke to him. The Jets haven’t been to a Super Bowl since Nixon’s first term 57 years ago. 😂😂😂😂😂
Boycott the home games. Crowd fund the stadium workers and venders. All of them an underpaid and shouldn’t suffer. Make the NFL respect the fans, it’s not about the billionaire owners. Who gets laughed at when the team sucks? Crying children, women and full grown men?

The only way the Jets can become a contender is that Woody Johnson has to put his team in the hands of football people .Start with a team President not named Johnson this person has the power to hire and fire Gen manager. The GM picks the coach ..The team needs and I mean the players have to stop giving up on themselves and stop worrying about our negative opinion of them now

I don't know - Johnson has hire'd GM's recommended by ' experts' , has hired very popular choices like J.D. - who has had not one super mediocre. 50 / 50. W / L season. not one. he was a very popular choice. and W.J. is always OK with signing f.A. to big bucks. see the last 2 seasons desperation with big buck , the Geezer prima donna QB, geezer L. T. etc.

What's with the multiple commercials aka sponsor breaks, throughout the video!? Never seen that before and for good reason, super annoying and weird dude! First time on your channel and I liked your insight on Woody here but... I'm not gonna sub due to those breaks, I understand having to put one in there (the great channels put the ad at the end) but even at the start it's all good but... Stopping the video more than once for a sponsor Ad!? Nah lol Go Birds

Man, why do I keep seeing these comments? Does nobody know anything about the history of this league? Belichick hates this team’s guts, especially the owner. In 2000 he was literally handed the job to coach the jets, but he refused because he didn’t like Woody Johnson when he bought the team. Bill coaching this team will happen the same day there’s peace in the Middle East.

so how is woody at fault first off he gave rogers everything he needed, plus the owner is not throwing stupid int, he gave the QB the power and the weapons his job to get it done. plus woody didn't hire this staff his brother did. I think woody did everything in his power to win by getting adams and and making Joe D sign reddick. people are just lazy and think it's easy to blame the owner, the owner just cut the check. blame the QB his reason were losing not woody johnson
