Aaron Rodgers Torches New England Patriots in 24-3 Win and New York Jets Look Like They Are for Real
It was a beautiful Thursday night for the New York Jets and their fans. The Jets blew out the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football 24-3. This was a long overdue night for Jets fans as they watched their team destroy a hated division rival. The biggest star on the team was the biggest star in the game. Aaron Rodgers had one of his best nights in recent memory and resembled a prime Rodgers. He wasn't alone, though. Almost every important Jets player delivered. And in the process, the Jets looked like a team to be reckoned with.

New York Jets vs. New England Patriots Preview: Jets Can Lean on Talented Young Backfield
Просмотров 61720 часов назад
The New York Jets play their first home game of the 2024 season tonight on Thursday Night Football. They host the rival New England Patriots. This is a game that could come down to old fashioned football. The Patriots love to run the ball. The Jets will need Quinnen Williams to dominate the trenches to shut down their run game. On offense, the Jets will need their talented young backfield duo, ...
Is There an Aaron Rodgers Solution to New York Jets' Nathaniel Hackett Problem?

The New York Jets are 1-1 through two weeks, exactly where most prognosticators expected them to be. The offense, led by Aaron Rodgers, looks improved. However, most observers are crediting Rodgers for leading the offense. There hasn't been a ton of praise for offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett, who is still making questionable calls. What can Rodgers and head coach Robert Saleh do to wor...

Aaron Rodgers' performance was choppy, but he delivered just enough. The Jets will happily take the win. They also should not be overly thrilled with how they played. This Week 2 Game Is Bigger for New York Jets Than You Think

They are all running 2 high coverages. Jets O-line isn't able to get run blocking well, and WRs are not opening up that well. The issue isn't Rodgers. Sure he's a little rusty and 40-year old, but he'd doing everything to enable the team to play and win. A different QB isn't exactly winning this game. Give it time, and get the scheme to work,.

Aren't we underestimating the Titans a tad? Their defense is very good, especially the D-line. Simmons has always been a monster. And their offense only sputtered with errors by Levis. I don't even think the Chiefs could 'dominate' them. It's too early in the season to predict dominance. Look at the Ravens.

  • @kgordon8834

Rodgers and Hackett are a tandem. They formulate the game plan together. The plays that Hackett are calling are the plays that Rodgers and him choose during the week. So I don't think it's fair to blame the offensive struggles on Hackett while giving Rodgers the credit when things go good. Not to mention Rodgers has the complete authority to check out of any play called and go with what he thinks will work at any time; which he does often. Personally I think Hackett and Rodgers did a good job adjusting after the first two quarters. I look at it like a boxing match. Sometimes you have to coast thru the first couple of rounds to figure out a good game plan because your pre-fight strategy is not working. It might look like you're not throwing punches and lacking offense, but you're really just looking for a weak spot to attack. On defense, I'm concerned about two players. One is Chuck Clark who you alluded to. He's finishing too many tackles going backwards. He's not laying the wood on ball carriers like I expected. I'll give it that he's one year removed from ACL surgery so he's still getting his feet under him, but I'm still concerned. The other player I'm concerned about that no one is mentioning is Quinnen Williams. He hasn't made any impact in neither of the two games we've played this year. With Aaron Donald retiring, I thought this would be the year he makes his claim as the best, if not, one of the best DT in the league, and I've yet to see that.

Rodgers is clearly limited in speed now, and I'm thankful that he's not trying to run (or even slide in the pocket) too much. I'd say he's already shown he's the best QB for the Jets since at least Testeverde. A little more on tape, and I'm sure I'll be saying he's as good as Farve was for us.

You just said it right. Jets fans should recalibrate their expectations. We have team to get into play off and probably get through first game... and that is great for a team that did not go to playoffs for 13 years. Lets focus how to keep the core of our great Young players and strengthen us with more good Young players and eventually get where 49`s are now. Very strong franchise for years to come. I would trade superbowl title for 15 consecutive years of going into playoffs any day.

The Jets offense reminds me of the Tampa offense during the 2020 season. It started out slow, people were talking about how Tom Brady needed to be part of a Belichick system to win, Brady was out of sync with his receivers, etc. Tampa was 6-5 at their bye, then closed the season with 5 wins, steamrolled through the playoffs & won the Super Bowl. I'm not saying the Jets will win the Super Bowl, but it took time for Tom Brady to adjust to his teammates, but when they hit stride Tampa was unbeatable. Hopefully, the Jets' offense will continue to improve as the season progresses.
