Becton was a LT in college. Wirfs was a RT in college. JD was drafting for a LT. Becton had a good rookie season then got injured in his second season. Jets medical staff couldn't find the right treatment for Becton. So he was out for his second and third seasons. When he did come back he showed signs of rust.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Rogers is not to blame! It was the receivers, the line, the coach, the GM. Rogers is great! Just ask him!
How can you say he failed if he wasn't able to do what he needed to do. If owner is messing with everything he didn't fail the owner did😊
Stopped watching this incel's clip as soon as he talked about Rodger's performance being a disaster. It is not.
If the organization was worried about shattering Zach Wilson’s confidence, they wouldn’t have let his teammates wear “Mike White is my QB” t shirts a week after his benching. This organization, top to bottom, is embarrassing.
Also, he couldn't really dump Gase cuz Gase got him the job in the first place.
Why does he have to go I don't understand it every team goes through Growing Pains they got the rest of the season and he wants to play next year the failure is if he gives up and this team gives up and they don't come back next year to try to right this ship Shore up the line a little bit and I can see a success I'm a 40-year Jet fan I'm just frustrated as anyone else I just can't see giving up on this shit right now
You make some valid points about Joe Douglas. I have said repeatedly that Joe Douglas disproportionately valued potential upside and minimized downside risks. One point you didn't cover was the failure to sign a backup QB before the 2023 season. In hindsight, Robert Saleh was correct when he said every week the "Zach gives us the best chance to win." We didn't see how it was possible, but after seeing Tim Boyle & Chris Streveler play, I realized Saleh was correct. That was, in effect, GM malpractice.
Sadly though he was right about Rodgers. He's pretty much been washed all year
Will Woody be the next GM?
I don't blame Woody he has seen enough and it needs to be blown up also after 4 games i saw enough of Rodgers
Rodgers is the cancer rotting the team from within
Thank you for trying Joe. Every GM has misses, but you crushed it and put a strong roster together despite Moron Johnson’s interference. Piss off of Woodrow, you’re overrated. Jets fans hate you.
S-E-L-L _ SELL _ SELL _ SELL
More important to get rid of the Owner. Never going to win with Woody as Owner.
Will Woody make himself the GM?
Douglas was there for 5 1/2 years and never won
The top candidate is Joe D, we should be talking about the top candidate to become the new owner!
Professional Football is NOT a freekn senior citizen sport. (If your 40 and doin hair dye,or need it your nfl senior citizen, and your teammates are your kids age to) Man call it a day damn. Start looking at consulting, coaching, mentoring, jobs ....fishing,golf or hunting cause your ASS IS OLD. stop lying to yourself,if your gf is half your age ,she trying to collect insurance money dude. R E T I R E.
You didn't clearly define old school and new school. Actually, people have been criticizing analytics lately by pointing to their heart. I doubt that John Harbaugh or John Lynch or Andy Reid (all over 50) depend on analytics as their first standard. It's a tool, not a standard. Besides, JD established a science, diet department. Whether it was good is the issue. What the Jets need is what Detroit, a worse team then the Jets, now has. The Saints hired Sean Payton when the Jets took Mangini. Now, the same thing. The Jets hired Saleh, while Detroit hired the crazy guy. I say, grab their OC and have him pick a GM.
Aaron is doing fine at the GM position. R-E-L-A-X
Its not woodys fault, hes the owner not the coaches or players. The coaches suck. I liked joe Douglas though, he should have been retained
Woody Johnson reminds me of how James Dolan used to run the Knicks. The Knicks would have a good thing going, make progress only to have the owner blow it up by making a horribly short sighted move. Every move is made for the team to ostensibly win now but the problem is that the team isn't winning now
You need a new coach. What is the quality of coach you expect with that man on your team?
would submit that certain entities have a public function that transcend normal ownership perogatives. Professional sports teams in the USA, particularly football and baseball, but also hockey and basketball, unite fans regionally in the support of their teams. There is an inherent public trust aspect to this. There needs to be a statue of limitations on perpetual ownershiip ineptitude. I think Woody's 25 years of failure have stretched that beyond the pale. James Dolan and the Knicks were on that same path until he FINALLY got a competent leader. I think it is time to introduce a "Must Sell" rule if a team is continually awful. It is just not fair to the fans to be held hostage to the lameness of some dumb billionaire. A structure for fan investment and purchase, ala Green Bay Packers, or a traditional single or consortium group purchase, after 20 years of lousy ownership. I would favor Federal Legislation to that effect.

Jets will forever be shit while woody is at the helm, that’s just the truth.
I believe JD deserved to be fired, and I do believe that this team won’t win under Woody Johnson, but is there proof that JD wasn’t just as interested as Woody to get Aaron Rodgers and his guys? Tbh, I feel like Woody Johnson actually let JD manage the team for a long time without intervention (he got his coach, he got his QB, he got his drafts)…it just didn’t pan out so he felt like he had to jump back in the last few years. In a way, I feel like JD screwed the jets fan base by being so inefficient with a loose leash. Now, Woody is going to feel like he has to be more involved…which is never good
Why are we still talking about Aaron Rodgers i don't believe he was the problem or is. He was never supposed to be mvp Aaron Rodgers just better than Zack Wilson. He has been . Our defense has fallen off a cliff. 3 wins with a decent kicker so below average Rodgers doesn't matter but our number 1 defense is. We can't stop the run or any mediocre quarter back from marching down the field. The problems are coaching and owner and we will not get a quarterback this year worth a damn.
zack won more games at this point then rodgers lol - go away pea brain - rodgers was brought here to be great not below average
This is hilarious. You are saying the owner should stay out of things that he owns. I despise Johnson as a owner but he has every right to do as he pleases with the team he owns. If Johnson sat on his Butt and did nothing you would go after him on that. I just don't get how you and so many others completely miss the point. The Jets are a franchise that Woody Johnson owns and makes him lots of money. His buisness modlel is chaos, drama and losing. All three of these things make him more than winning. Let's start with chaos. He creates the worst case scenario that way next season you feel can't be worse than the present. This has all the fans running back. This creates drama . The drama keeps his team's name in the headlines. This alone keeps his team relevant. Then losing ties it all together. He makes more money losing. Losing brings in new uniforms, new players more Jerseys and high draft picks which means even more Jersey sales. Losing brings in new players that sell tickets and top draft picks that sell tickets. Losing brings in new management and new staffing that brings in hope that sells tickets. While winning only brings performance bonuses and games played bonuses. He is in it to make money. Your money . Why deal with everything that winning costs when losing costs nothing.
your rant is fucking stupid
Lmao winning brings in more money than anything. Look at the Chiefs. Look at the Lions. Losing does nothing but lose faith. He’s not trying to be this terrible, that’s why you bring in Aaron Rodgers two years ago thinking it was going to make you a winning team.
@@alexallegood1040then how does he stay afloat? How? How does he lose for 24 years and still manage to bring in old has been players ? For him there is more money to be made losing then winning. I never said it's the reality for all teams. For the Jets losing brings in more money because the fan base is stupid enough to believe in change.
@ lmao your argument doesn’t make any sense, your just calling the fans stupid for liking their team. Selling tickets brings in money. How many tickets you think they gonna sell by the end of the year? How much you think a ticket would be if they were in the playoffs? WAY FN MORE. And it can stay afloat bc it’s an nfl franchise(in the biggest city in the world.) if the jets went to the playoffs you’d see the biggest profit margins they’ve seen in years
@@dante6563says the idiot who runs out and buys that Jersey of the top draft pick that turns into the biggest bust. Says the idiot who goes to the same shit restaurant, sits at the same shit table, eats from the same shit menu and gets the same shit service week after week but thinks these will change because there is a huge sign on the building that says under new general management. Woody never has to do shit other than what makes him money. Per Forbes KC made 591 million in revenue while the Jets made 635 million. Before you speak research . The Jets without having a winning season in 15 years.
Rodgers heading for hall of fame for busts😂😂😂😂
rodgers is a hof qb - but he is not good any more - so being a hof qb does not help the jets
Soooo...are you saying that Saleh was fired for stuff that he was not responsible for...? That the Ownership dictated some of the most important decisions a team can make and Saleh & Douglas took the fall for those decisions...?
He's a Top 5 QB of all time. Brilliant in his prime. It's a shame to watch.
I don't understand how you can look at this Jets team and think that Rodgers is a primary issue. Not even a huge fan of his but this mess is not primarily on him.
lol - what ever you say pea brain
Buffalo’s GM’s position is not open. Obviously leaving them out on purpose. They’re the team in the division. They’re the team you shouldn’t leave out. They’re the team that’s going to be good for another dozen years at least
They should bench/trade him off NOW. Cancer grows if you don't excise it.
You are jumping to conclusions with Woody demanded the Rodgers trade.
Only one problem, Woody is in charge of picking the people to build. Guess that keeps the Jets right where they are now. Any chance of Woody selling? No? Too bad!
Rodgers and Woody not only scammed the fans, they scammed Vegas and the National supposed”gurus”. Everybody is laughing except Jets fans.
It's a sad, sad day. 2 years ago if you had just gone with a league average qb and continued to build through the draft, the qb position would have taken care of itself. There was so much potential for this team: 3 top 50 picks, the offensive and defensive rookies of the year, plenty of cap room to add a targeted piece or two and some depth. Now we need a full reboot; cut/trade the bloated contracts, eat the dead cap hit this year, trade down in the draft and acquire future picks (preferably next year too). There IS some young and middle aged talent to keep/extend though. Sauce, Q, WMD, Carter 2 (and maybe sherwood?) on D and Garrett, Breece, Braelon, Tippman, Avt and Simpson all looking like very viable pieces. Need the right coach and at least 1 of 2 more drafts to add some more legitimate talent. THEN try to figure out qb
I was saying that endlessly heading into the 2021 draft. They had no talent and a rookie coaching staff. The very obvious decision was to trade the 2nd overall pick, build the team, go QB hunting later. They can still do that now. Find a way to get Vrabel, get a competent QB, and work on getting the team to competent.
@PeterAllen09 ugh, don't even get me started on 2021. I was telling anyone that listens, even if Darnold wasn't the answer then just let him play out his final year. We could have gotten 3 firsts and a third for that 2nd overall pick! In a year where we already had 2 firsts!! That means for 3 years running we'd have 2 first round picks!!! I was saying, just build the team in 21 and if darnold isn't good, worry about qb in either of the next drafts! The jets are committed to doing the stupid thing though. They're so scared on missing out on the next great qb, they take the wrong one and ruin their potential! If we had just built the team first in 21 and then looked to get a qb in the future, any qb would have a much better chance because the team would be so much better. Imagine a world where we weren't stupid, traded down in 21, built the team in 21 and 22 and then traded up for CJ Stroud in 23?? We'd be on our way to competing for a super bowl every year for a decade. It's absurd how stupid this franchise is and the terrible decisions they regularly make. Mind numbing.
@@tominny Oh my god, dude, I had the exact same experience. That was probably the most frustrated I've ever been as a Jets fan, because the choice was so damn obvious: trade the pick, build the team, go QB hunting later! I could barely get any Jets fan to listen. They all responded, "but Darnold sucks." And I'm saying, "sure, but who cares!? Just build the team." Damn, that was an aggravating few months. It utterly killed the rebuild. I agree with everything you said. Man, it's nice to know I'm not insane and at least one other Jets fan thought the same thing, lol.
@@PeterAllen09 amen brother, it's been so frustrating dealing with the idiocy of the fan base. Meanwhile all I've basically been arguing is to be risk-averse. Like just do the smart, meat and potatoes thing that'll slowly build the team and make us good in the long term. But no, the genius fans want to be like Woody and swing for the fences every 2 years on qb. They're too slow to realize when you continually pour massive assets in to the qb position, you are sacrificing building other areas of the team. If every 2 years you are spending 1st/2nd round pick or more on qb, you're going to hollow out the rest of your roster. The reason we have no depth and only a few pieces on each side of the ball is BECAUSE we keep wasting at qb. Just give it a rest for 3-4 years, it's so absurd and obvious, but you get treated like an idiot for saying let's stop being stupid.
@@PeterAllen09 vrabel was fired for failing - what makes you think he will not fail with the jets
The Jets should hire one of these Jets podcasters as GM. See how it goes.
😂😂😂
Can't do any worse than what they've had thus far.
Bring in coach Prime
Jets have the worst owner. So, what to do? Oh, lets put him in federal guvmnt! What a joke! FDT. Maybe woody and Gaetz can get together. Lol
Please bring him back. I want to watch another season of the greatest train wreck in sports.
Bart Scott was right. Name one move you would've made differently than JD. The guy in Philadelphia has made bigger mistakes, but also shrewder movers at important times. What you miss is the important contribution of the coach. A GM is not necessarily his record, like a coach or a quarterback is. That is, if he's allowed to fire his first coach. Obviously, coach and GM here were not on the same page. Plus, Saleh was a dull football mind. If JD had Todd Munken or the Detroit OC, I believe they would've created the structure of winning. Thanks to Douglass, the nucleus is there.
He's in consideration to be one of the worst gms in all NFL history. Mind boggling to defend him at this point.
I disagree with every part of this. Literally every point.
@PeterAllen09 Alright, you disagree. But review Howie Roseman's Carson Wentz disaster, the epic collapse last year, his signing of Huff. I can go on. It's the coach's job to create the product on field, and many of the critics of JD confuse GM duties with coaching duties. A sit-down with JD to select a smarter coach and disciplinarian would've been enough.
@Edward19892 That makes no sense. Exaggerating doesn't clarify.
@@michaellipscomb6652 He has the second worst win % in the history of the NFL for GMs with as long a tenure (only Matt Millen of the lions was worse), zero winning seasons, has picked up maybe 3-4 plus starters after round 1 in 5 combined drafts, his FA signings have been atrocious, his HC was a flop, he picked the worst NFL draft bust in over a decade (ZW), and made the worst QB trade in over a decade (AR). As a result, we are now in the worst position of any team in the NFL, and if he were forced to stick around for the next rebuild he set us up for his record would be even worse. Does that clarify it for you?
Douglas had no choice but to go along for the ride, plus he did everything Roger's wanted
Woody is behaving like a spoiled rich kid that got handed a franchise to use as a play thing. Oh wait…
Hire John Lynch as President of Football Operations
Packer fan checking in..who won the trade?
As another fellow packer fan who actually lives in New York it pains me to see him playing like this, o really wanted them to be good, with that said packers owned this trade, GO PACK GO!!!!
Y'all day is coming. A lot of fans were happy when he Rodgers and Cutler got hurt.
As a Packers fan, I'd hold my tongue. I'm still not sold on Jordan Love. Love is surrounded by A LOT of weapons, protection, and a great offensive minded coach....yet he only has 16 TD /11 INT smh
He has been for some time. Offering him that contract was the dumbest of dumb moves.
