Loved the personal story glad you got to spend time with your Dad. Started rooting for team since 1972 Jets 44 Colts 34 watched game and I was hooked no matter the many down years will treasure those special games sadly it has been a long time since we’ve been playoff bound but I’m forever hopeful though I’m running out of chronological time
It's the Roethlisberger effect smh lol. Big Ben had a cannon but those last 3 seasons in the NFL after all those major leg injuries and surgeries he lost velocity on his passes and couldn't throw deep anymore. Except Ben was a lot more fundamentally sound so when he lost strength in his legs he could still make those short to intermediate passes with no issue allowing him to get rid of the ball quicker. Rodgers was like 60% athleticism and 40% technique but since he's lost 40% of his athleticism his technique isn't good enough to pull him out
It starts with coaching. That's where structure comes from. It's the coach's job to establish the culture, enforce every nuance- constantly. With a better coach, this team would be 8-5. Look at what that guy in Minnesota has done with Darnold, or even Seattle with Geno. Remember all of you who booed him out of NY. His arm was the best since Testaverde; he too had lousy coaching. Look at Becton in Philly. It's time to start studying these young coaches- the hell with the Jets. For now.
Commiserations jets fans. We 12s like the jets as we know how it feels to wait decades for success but can we have the Jamal Adams trade picks back please? If you win from 7 - 21 down at nearly half-time. It's a great win. Brave and resilient. Mentally tough. With big cat playing his best ever ball. With spoon on fire. Jsn turning into Jerry rice 2.0. yep that was cool for 12s but sad to see a great hof QB struggle like that for the jets. Jets have some really talented players & should stay positive.
You get this when you go with a QB who was good when you got him and was 40. The Jets were probably the most overrated team coming into the year. Sure, they have some nice players, but the roster had huge holes like the whole OL. The Jets were a 7-win team. Looks like they might now even get that. Rogers number look better than his actual play. He was awful against Seattle. They handed the Jets 21 points with mistakes. Take those 3 mistakes away the Jets lose 19-0. Rogers had 1 game where he didn't suck this year. But keep running him out there. Why? You really think Mr. Checkdown is really going to get better. He was 2-12 with passes over 10 yards in the air. You can win checkdown 30+ passes a game like Rogers has to do now. The defense peak 2 years ago. It still good but not great. Had Geno not underthrow a TD pass to DK the Jets lose 33-21.
They Jets were no good on special teams. At the fumbles the Jets were with 5 yards of the runners. Seattle was awful more than the Jets were good. The kick return was poor angles to the football. Just every return for a TD is.
