  • This simple homemade hot wire foam cutter helps to make models from foam very quickly and accurately. The video demonstrates how to build your own hot wire foam cutter at home in any size you want. 🆄🅿🅳🅰🆃🅴🅳 🅿🆁🅾🅹🅴🅲🆃 • how to make a hot wire...
    You can incorporate the temperature controller into the wire for better performance.
    Material
    • Wood for the frame (you can use your own material)
    • Screws
    • Switch
    • DC Power Supply Socket Jack Female and Male
    • DC power supply adaptor Output: 6V DC/ 1A (Good voltage and current will have a better
    performance. however it will damage or melt the wire.so, make sure the power supply is
    compatible with your wire)
    • Heat resistant wire (Nichrome Wire)
    • Adhesives
    • Electrical wires
    • You can add or modify any materials and specification
    Cautions Cautions
    • Do not use AC direct power source 220/110
    • Use a small amount of DC volt around 3-6 volt. It is enough to test your prototype
    • Make sure safe with hotwire!!!! it may cause some damage to your skin !!!!
    please consult people around you if you not are well familiar with it.

    So we basicaly dont need a voltage power controler?

    • @wesutd
      @wesutd  Год назад

      standard voltage output power source which is suitable with your wire resistance is ok. however, voltage controller will let you your device/model work with different type of material and Sharp cutting edge. thanks and please keep in touch

    Can i use 12v 2amp adopter bro?

    • @wesutd
      @wesutd  2 года назад +1

      yes you can. however you need to consider the width of cutting wire ( nichrome ) with the current you have.
      thank you for asking brother please keep intouch

    Can i use 5.5volts output adapter?

    • @wesutd
      @wesutd  2 года назад

      Yes You can. However, the problem will be on the current. the cutting wire (nichrome wire) and the the current you use will matter on the cutting work. so, use a better adaptor with good output voltage and current. Thanks for asking. if you are not satisficed with this please ask me again and again i will provide information.

    What kind of screw did you use to adjust the wire ?

    • @wesutd
      @wesutd  Год назад

      am sorry being too late to replay. I just use ordinary screw. the type of screw did not matter. however, using spring at the bottom
      will play an important role to support the wire. when wire is heated it will lose its strength and can't do proper cutting work. that is why I advise you to use spring. thanks for asking and please keep in touch.

    Which wire u used?

    • @wesutd
      @wesutd  3 года назад +1

      I used copper wire which is heat resistant and
      You can use any wire which can resist heat.
      I recommend you to use material from a Coaxial Cable of a satellite dish.

    You need to either take this video down or provide the tolerances and specs. Its important to know how many amps are running through that wire!!! Someone could get seriously injured if you dont provide electrical specs!!! Seriously!
