Cort is an underrated Brand, maybe cuz they get busy by making other brands names, it's like the relation between "the servant and the prince", but the servant may be wiser than the prince. It depends on our perspective. Otherwise you can surely find very good guitars from other brands names , but for me, cort, schecter and yamaha are some of the best value for money. Very Nice Review
Agreed, love Schecter and Yamaha quality, so definitely interested in this guitar. Those pups have that "elusive tone" that I once had in an old guitar, fits my style I think.
Cort are a very under appreciated brand. Have never had a guitar but had a couple of basses in the past and they where excellent quality basses. The cort factory to my knowledge also make schecter and some ibanez guitars. Great video mate. I think it sounds great
@@GuitarCinemaOfficial they seem to offer some very high end materials on low to mid range guitars. As you said basses particularly, but have noticed a few of the "bigger channels" (sorry James) 😳 reviewing cort guitars now too and kinda saying what we are saying a lot of guitar for the money. On a side note I also have to disagree with you on something... But it's kind of a compliment to my ears this guitar sounds better (for cleans) than your solar you reviewed recently.
@@shorttadam How dare you my channel is massive...... ly short of viewers 😂 I wouldn't disagree at all about the Cleans, the spankyness actually works extremely well for them.
i just had my hands on a used Cort Evl KX6 equipes with 81/85 pickups and a licensed floyd and man... that guitar just rocks! amazing and versatile tone (the other day i toon it to a damn blues jam and it spunded just amazing 😂) an extreme comf neck wich is necktrough... i mean this guutars are awesome and have and amazing built quality (used to be the second aibanez factory)
I went to a local shop today in the view of replacing a once sold prs custom 24 and saw the blue top cx300 - immediately caught my eye and thought the same thing. These specs and finish are a par with 1k easily and more so back 15 years ago when I was heavily into gear. No hesitation bought it - looking at more cort models next time I go there as it felt as good as my mij rr3
These pups are underrated i think they sound great with thrash and proper metal too! I think people have an expectation when they see the 77 in the name that colors how people think these should be used
If cort could make an explorer shaped guitar with the etched finish, I would definitely buy one. I usually go for schecter guitars and have had my eye on the e1 apocalypse.
The way these pups come through (in many videos), seems like it gives the bass plenty of room in the mix without eq, I'm lazy and that works for me haha.
@@GuitarCinemaOfficial According to their website, they have a KX500 with Fishman Moderns in it with an etched Violet finish. It one of the coolest finishes I've ever seen on a guitar, but I literally can't find it ANYWHERE
Hey James, I just saw your comment under my KX300 video. Really enjoyed watching yours! I see you have an early production guitar with Fat 55 pickups instead of Super 77. May I ask you where it's coming from, like a store or a distributor. Have you experienced any higher than normal level of hum on high gain with these particular pickups?
Hi mate had no idea these where Fat 55's? How can you tell? They where pretty good on the noise front. Very impressed with the level of detail in your videos btw great work 👍
@@GuitarCinemaOfficial Thanks! EMG pickups with alnico magnets (Fat55) have gold logo, with ceramic magnets (Super77) have silver logo. That's how you can tell right away that something is off. Part numbers on the back of the pickups also have an "a" for alnico
@@MaxSoloMusic really interesting thanks for the heads up. I'll see if I can add a text annotation to the video at the point where I talk about pickups. Once again great in-depth knowledge from you. Wish you all the best for your channel mate. I'll be watching 🤜

Im totally in love with the desing of this guitar but not so much for the sound. Mi plan is to buy it and put some SD JB and 59... now i have them installed on my yamaha with alder body.... no idea how is going to sound on this Cort, some of you have some reference about the mahogany body with ash cover combination + SD JB - 59???
This year I have tried 3 HBs (2 Amaroks and 1 Fusion) and 4 Ibanezes from Indonesia. I don't know whether they are built at the same factory, but HBs overall had better quality, although they cost two times less. Of course, you can have a slight variation between guitars, but things I noticed on all Ibanezes: uneven or sloppy paintjob, bolt holes look like it's 50$ guitars, pickguards installed crooked, neck pocket cracks straight from the factory, frets can often be scratched and even have rust from strings. I have a feeling that chineese Ibanezes have better QC than ones from Indonesia..
You are sooo right about judging Midrange guitars. I own more than a hundred guitars, a lot of them beyond 1k, 2k, and there are so many Guitars in a lower pricerange which really kickass. Most of my guitars are much cheaper, and they are great players. Check Cort, Ibanez, Epiphone, Squier. and forget about Harley Benton.....
For a guitar that looks so metal, the sound coming out of it just isn't really doing it. Do you think it'd be possible to get a good tone out of it for heavier chonk? Play an old Cort Z-22 at the moment with Bare Knuckle Nailbombs in it and the thing slaps, but love the finish on this guitar!
Great review. Pros and cons, clean/dirty, build... awesome, you covered it all without trying to sell it. ( You don't work for them obviously) lol... $800 Canadian. Is that cheap?
Thanks mate. Definitely not on anyone's payroll unless the cheque got lost in the post 😂 800 CD is about right for new. Seen a few on clearance cheaper though recently.
I was having second thoughts on buying this guitar because I've never heard of the brand, but then knowing that they've been manufacturing Ibanez and Schechter sealed the deal for me.
Cor tek have pushed Mi Indo guitars to a new level, producing so many well known brands beside their own, it's a long list. Check out PRS SE Silver sky promo video, to get the Indo picture.
@@NaNaNaS_000 The guitar checked all the specs. Great sustain, great tuning stability, neck is perfect (not too thin, no too thick,) not to mention the pickups. The only thing I didn't like about the guitar is the matte finish picks up oil stains. Also, I sold mine because I settled out from metal, and it's a metal guitar.

Indonesia is a coin toss regarding build quality these days. I've played phenomenal and horrific examples from even the same factory.
Would say inspired by jim root sandblasted jazzmaster no?
I think this guitar came out first no? Though to be fair im sure Mayones did sandblasted finishes first.
