I am from Chennai currently in kollam. Love my Chennai ❤In kollam not getting properpublic buses after 7pm ,no uber ola etc ,no vegetables avbl, markets many are missing here 😢. Things are costlier in Kerala than Chennai... Only thing I like here is greenery.and less pollution and cleaner... Rest far behind to catch up
Everything you said is correct but you should never compare Kollam with Chennai and if you hide some cities like Chennai the traffic in Tamil Nadu is very bad. The situation is not different in the rural areas but also in the rest of the cities.

But you have missed certain important aspects .koyambedu bus stand was not shifted to kilambakkam as such, but was divided into three bustands one at Madhavaram to cater to Andhra, and north bound busses and this bus stand is already in operation. Second bus stand is at Kilambakkam, meant for south bound busses, which was opened in December 23. The third bus stand as big as the kilambakkam bus stand is coming up at kuthambakkam, near poonamallee. This bus stand is meant for Bangalore, and east bound busses.60% works have been completed. What a fabulous idea to decongest the city . All the three massive bus stands will be serviced by metro also.

In chennai we have both over head metro and underground metro. First it was planned to build metro station as an over head ones. There is an old flyover in annanagar which had to be demolished for this project, but ppl protested not to demolish it, so the govt had dropped that idea and went with underground metro. So from Airport till CMBT its an overhead metro, from cmbt to central its an underground metro. We do have underground metro in all other places with in the city and now the constructions are going on for over head metro in the outskirts of chennai.

Take city train from Park railway station (Opp to Central Railway station) to Urappakkam railway station and get down there and the Kilambakkam bus station is in oppsite reach by a small walk you can save much much time. the train goes from Beach to Chengaulpattu.
