    If you don't take risks, you'll end up working for someone who does

    Don't forget the 10% ebay fee and 3% paypal fee. That's $39.00. And was it free shipping? That's another $9.00. Your profit is now $60.00. Now you're down to 20%. And realistically, auctions don't tend to sell 33% lower than current value. This is a really bad business model, It is best to find a wholesale supplier, or hunt for items at yardsales, swapmeets, etc. Always aim for 60% profit margin to cover business expenses, that way you take home half. Unless you are drop shipping, you are only adding expenses to your already low profit margins.

    eBay sniping is an old term I can remember as far back as 1999! When you bid on an item in the last couple seconds = eBay Sniping.

    I started buying items on Craigslist and selling on eBay. Mike taught me in one of his videos that the reason people sell on Craigslist is because "they want to make that quick buck." This man is a genius and has made me a lot of money as a secondary income!

    Good to see help videos like these. For a long time I avoided selling on-line because of the complexity involved and extensive risk too. But watching another ebay critic become a promoter in recent times who tells it like it is and still works to improve the site,(crazynydriver) I feel more confident in the idea. So Thank You too, (diymike) and I can see that you'll do well and hope you all have a Healthy & happy New Year!

    Hi just seeing this old video...question...were there some items you had shipped to you first before relisting them? I sell clothes primarily and some other niche things, some hard foods, household items but primarily clothing. But I was thinking this would be amazing with clothing brands I know sell fast, however I’m so skeptical about relisting other sellers’ items, if there is something they missed, or an odor or anything that could drop my reviews, part of me would feel better receiving and checking it over first. Any thoughts are appreciated! I want to maximize my time and going to source can sometimes drain time for money in which I could be making more with less hassle anyway.

    What sucks is the eBay takes 10% of each sale. Not that they don't deserve it but, if i won that iPhone for lets say... £230 and sold it for £325, i will make £95 profit. But with eBay fee, they will take £32.50 which leaves me with a total profit of £62.50...

      +FamilyGuyStuffs yea this is great if you have a lot of capital to mess around with but if you only have less than 2000k to your name that you can invest with i wouldn't advise it

    Mike, what is your seller id on ebay? I am just starting out myself, and really appreciate your videos. I am trying to get a better understanding of how to do the listings themselves and not loose all profits to fees.
    And now that I have more than 20 items listed, I'm wondering if I'm listing stuff to my advantage. Ie: auction, buy it now, auto-relisting. Thank you so much! Happy New Year!

    I was sniping on eBay way back in 2000, and yes that's what I called it. But it wasn't to resell things, it was just to buy cool shit at rock bottom prices. I actually bought a car on eBay that way, still have it too!

    You should link up with the Bonafide Hustler, Raiken Profit. Check out their RUclips channel of you haven't seen them. They are resellers like you. They have this great group called the green room that shares great bolos and information about reselling.

    Flipping is flipping, sniping is when you bid in the last 3 seconds or less. The bigger the risk the higher the reward, or loss! That is why you flip things you are familiar with. Additionally there is smart phone used book scanning; where you just go to book stores scanning books until you find one of value and buy it to resell. And there is precious metals! You can flip jewelry and coins all day if you know what your doing. You can scrap old electronics, cellphones, computers, video games for more precious metals. I just broke 1000 sales and feedback and have learned tons in less than 3 years. Thanks Everquest bazaar, Ihavespell!

    This is brilliant. I'm a college student taking 5 classes and I don't have time for an actual job so I've been using eBay for income. In recent weeks I've run out of things to sell and I've been trying to figure out what to flip. This video was very helpful! Thanks so much!

    I think most people don't follow through cos they don't exactly know the workings of ebay and the logistics of selling products on it, hence the risk of it not being sold. If you could show exactly the "way" to list them and sell them (with right amount of info, what kind of info, what kind of pics, how many pics, if scratches and slow performance of product is an issue which could lead to a return/refund request from buyer), I think that could do a lot. I once bought Vans on it but did not like the fitting at all (I think it was a size too big), and it was one of those listings where the seller only had legit one size one shoe, thus it being cheap and convincing me enough to want to buy it. Instead of getting a refund on them, I tried to make my own listing and sell it myself for like 30% more of what it was but still below the market price of that shoe online and retail. I don't think my information and listings or also the credibility of my account, since I had no feedbacks at all due to it being a fairly new account,
    were convincing enough to have buyers follow through and buy it...

    Hey Mike love your videos! bro I have a question I just started selling on eBay and I flipped alot of stuff already, books and clothing but I noticed it only let's me list 10 items a month, I need to list more. Have any clue what I could do? Anyone?

    • @RxDoctorDaddy
      @RxDoctorDaddy 9 лет назад +3

      When you first start selling on eBay, they give you limits on how much of a certain category you can sell as well as a new seller limit. After a three (3) months of having your account, eBay will bump you up to fifty (50) items per month, however you will still be capped for certain categories you have not had either any success or experience in selling. Another option you have, would be to spend the $15.00 per to open up your own eBay store. There you can list up to 100+ items. Selling items on a regular eBay account is great if that is what you want to do, however be mindful that the eBay charge is 10%, so if you sold an item for $100.00, eBay would take $10.00 off of your product leaving you with $88-$89.00 in sales after the eBay and Paypal fee. If you choose to open up a store, the eBay fee will only be a flat rate of ten (10) CENTS. Good luck!
