As an established ebay seller with the same product line as you, this is damn good info and 100% accurate. Thanks for keeping it real for up and coming sellers.
Your advice about not fighting for every dollar is super valuable and can apply to other aspects of life, like dating - gotta look past something and see a beautiful mountainous road of opportunities waiting for you. Thank you so much for sharing this video with us!
Did you people really think he was going to disclose his ebay success formula out in the open? This guy is telling you absolutely nothing in this video, all he really wants is for you to watch it so he can get the view count. Let's take a look at his advice. Buy a bunch of stuff on ebay first to build feedback? Ok this doesn't even help you as a SELLER, because buyer feedback and seller feedback are separate. If you need to build up your seller feedback, you'll eventually have to start selling something, and even then it's not a given that a buyer will leave a feedback because it's not mandatory. Buying a bunch of crap on ebay is not going to help you as a seller. His second advice was to know what you are selling, well gees, no kidding. Could an advice be any more superficial than this? People who are regretting selling stuff too cheap on ebay are just dumb, their issue is going to be far more than learning how to run a business online. Now his last advice, at least has some validity to it, however instead of simply telling people not to fight for every dollar, the better way to go about it would be to tell them that Paypal and eBay both have seller protection policies, as well as postal and parcel carriers having insurance to cover your assets in case something happens to your items or the customer has an issue with it, so that you are not necessarily going to take a loss just because something went wrong on the transaction. His TRUE message of this video is: 1. Buy crap on ebay, and hopefully buy my crap. 2. Nothing will sell for your asking price so don't bother trying, I don't want more rivals. 3. You'll run into issues and scams, go away rookie, ebay is not for you. There's no secret to selling on ebay, it's just like any other business, find items that sell, price them competitively, and work hard. That's all it takes.
Macky, why I'd agree and many experienced sellers seem to frown upon his first points, it has one merit in my mind. A lot of these sellers that are selling under $1 items en mass are more likely to leave you positive feedback. If you as a buyer open someone's listing, on the right side you can see their feedback. If the number is a big 0, some people are less likely to purchase from you. Few would investigate further and figure out you only have buyer's feedback and no feedback as a seller. The same way if this video had 50 views, 1 like and 29 dislikes but was actually more valuable and informational, you might not even watch it in the first place or all of the comments section will be dominated by comments asking why does this video have so many dislikes. I think getting a hundred of these items upon opening your account is ridiculous and will bring negative attention to it by Ebay's algorithm. The items may start at a penny or less if they were listed on ebay ca or com au, however the auctions generally end up selling for $0.2-0.9 and as a brand new account, you can't even bid on more than several items at the same time. The lowest buy it now price would be 0.99 CAD or AUD + free shipping.
The best advice he gave was to not focus on buying used shit and switch over to getting products and selling them, like a store. Its more feasible long term.
Shipping rates for Hong Kong, China, and several other countries selling into the US are so low they can do this profitably. I have purchased items under TWO dollars and the sellers are not losing money.
Hey Mike, I just want to say thanks. I've seen your videos when I was shopping for a Tundra last year and then it led me to your EBay vids. You can use a thermal printer for printing your shipping labels on ebay, as I do currently. Then print them in bulk (not one at a time) and print a scan form for the post office to scan them all in at once. V easy.
Catch+release; can you please elaborate on your suggested process? after printing a label on the thermal printer do I use an ink jet printer to print them in bulk?
The don't fight for every dollar is really good advice, you need to account for the fact you will get scammed or get a bad customer at some point. And as another youtuber said as well, you just have to take it on the chin and move on especially with ebay usually siding with the buyer. But there is a limit to that of course which you will have to set personally. If you get scammed out of a $500 dollar item of course you should pursue it but for a $20 item or even $50 item, maybe not be worth your time or more important your mental health.
You're a lifesaver. I've been doing decent business on eBay and have already shipped a good few things out, but I wasn't sure the best way to go about it. Your advice really helps.
We started selling old video games on ebay last year and we had a brand new account, never even shopped on ebay. All the items sold within a few days (and they even paid shipping) we had absolutly no issues selling items
This was helpful... thank you for taking the time to do videos. I gave up fighting for every dollar a year ago... and another good result was ... hey ! I'm happier too !! my customers are happy and I"m happy too. Thanks Mike for all the info !!
I never really realized that selling or reselling on eBay, Amazon, etc was actually a business. One day recently I was in Marshall’s , all their boots were marked down to 4 & 5 bucks. So I picked up a few & thought I would sale them. And I kid you not, within a couple of days a video popped on my RUclips home pg abt sellers on eBay. So I have been just watching so many videos now. Maybe that was a sign, I don’t know but I find very ironic. I am so struggling to keep my head above water. I have tried to start a gift basket business in the past yr but I really haven’t made a profit yet. I would love to have a business & stay at home so I can be here for my kid. What do you think?
I think you should keep at it. The more you do, the more you learn. You are on the right track by investing in yourself right now. So again, just keep at it. It's not easy and you will loose money or break even sometimes. But be in it for the long haul! Ps. I think our phones listen to us so check your settings.
@@cmlisojo3182 me and my wife are about to start doing this. We both have jobs so we're not trying to make a lot to start. Hey Mike. I really appreciate your transparency and your sharing from your heart. I took notes. :-) I'm just starting out to explore eBay. You have given me a lot just in this one video. Yes, I will subscribe. Thank you Mike!!
I actually work for eBay now Mike. I've been watching your channel for like 3 years now and you've inspired me to do a lot. If you need any advise or help on anything in terms of eBay, let me know.
Bee Gee No I don’t I actually use to sell on eBay when I was 16 before someone I knew used my account to purchase something using PayPal credit. I didn’t realize my account was in the negative thousands till it was way too late. I paid all the late fees and charges I owed and closed down my eBay account. I never would’ve thought that I’d be working for eBay though a few years from that incident
I used to be a power seller. Got to that status with in two years. Invested $600, hussled going to garage sale spots Thur-Sat. Was making about 25k a year doing just this. I have since been banned (ip banned from selling), still can purchase. After my first ban, 3 years later it was lifted (heard it is a justified amount of time usually when it randomly unlifts). Over the years eBay has been getting stricter and stricter with seller policies. No longer can the seller give the buyer negative feedback. I used to make it a requirement to have at least 50 positive transactions before making purchases to give a buffer net to try and keep scammers away. My account got hit again but a permaban from selling. I've tried my best to deal w difficult people on the other end. Most of the time when the person was giving me a hard time, they would report me. Number of times I agreed to take the item back for a full refund. I've had this done nearly a bakers dozen times out of a few thousand transactions. Sending a fake tracking number or sending back an empty box. eBay only required a tracking no when you are at the case point. How do you combat scammers?
Bro you are a real hard working man I watched your mother's day video and did touch my heart I didn't see my mother over 10 years because she lives cross the ocean, I want to be like you bro, I'm just start doing eBay as a seller but I start with colthes but it slow.
Thank you so much for your advice Diymike, I really like the part where you said that we usually have lots of stuff just sitting around the house and it has no value if it's just going to be occupying space. big thumbs up buddy and if I find one of your ebay listings, I will definitely buy from you.
I was a seller on eBay. It ended today because I don't have a phone number. Here's what I would say to new sellers on there: Don't do it. It's a waste of your energy. There's numerous hassles and scams; it's a constant struggle. It's especially difficult for new users because you're not familiar with all their rules... and new ones are coming in April, according to some message I got today.
When first selling on eBay, I don’t want to invest money into buying cheaper stuff at the thrift store when obviously I don’t have an reviews or feedback and don’t know if that stuff will sell. Should I start selling maybe old remotes or old thing since my house that have a lot of value, obviously looking up the comps first before posting?
Hey man, so I guess it would be a good idea to stick with smaller items to sell first? IE phones cases, figures, stuffed animals? I have 2 monitors for sale as my larger items but considering making them pick up only since I'm just starting up.
Hundreds of $ for me! I have a international exclusive thing, only a certain amount made! 😋 Edit like 2 secs later: I have thousands of old toys... I have a big box of toys and 2 smaller boxes and a dresser of toys and a shelf of toys and my bed has toys under it.....
Diymike you are absolutely right selling at ebay No need to fight with customer eBay doesn't want problems they want happy customers and stupid sellers if customers complain ebay give you a bunch of nonsense options full refund, the buyer can keep the item so you want your item back pay for shipping there is many crooks on ebay trying to full the seller they know what ebay does ebay not backing up for the sellers ebay just want to make money That is right if you going to sell at ebay Don't fight for every dollars keep it smooth, and if someone not happy no argue simply refund and get your item back Play smart Don't get any situation ebay has to involve actually keep ebay away from you Do not cancel the sale this is the biggest mistakes actually this mistake running your account plus feedback Some day ebay suddenly resticted , or suspends, or banned you that will be suck they done to me no reason so I done with ebay good luck
Mike, I just really want to say thanks for taking the time to explain what you do and being a down to earth person. I just subscribed to your channel a few weeks ago. I was watching the Honda del sol build. You and your friends are hilarious. Shout out to HawkEye. Lmao
Remember ebay has 4 hands on your cash....you get charged a large percent here....they tax you for the ad....they tax you for the sale...they tax you for the PayPal transaction....and the best of all they take a percentage of the shipping cost.....What's left?...big ticket items are best but you still pay big time to the boss....ebay....read the business fine print...you will be shocked at the account level
One way to buy feedback for pennies is looking for digital pictures, that's how i started building my feedback. Buy a digital picture/desktop background for .50 cents and the shipping will be free because it will come in an email.
My best advice for dropshipping: If you're not manufactuer/Chinese just don't waste your time cause u wont sell shit unless youre willing to resell popular brands and then get sued and get huge fine.
I don’t have hardly any feed back but I’m selling at least 1-2 items a day so I don’t agree totally with the feedback statement although I do agree you should strive to have 100% great feedback
Hey bro ! Recently there’s a lot of scammers on eBay . They mainly buy the most expensive item on ur listing and then give u problem after they received the item . How to counter that problem ? It’s very frustrating as a seller when they know I’m new & low rep so they can take advantage...
Hi. Congrats on your success! I loved the video of where you surprised your mother with a HOUSE! Goals for sure. In this video you said something about other sellers going out to thrift stores to buy stuff and stated that you have inventory come to you, I was expecting more and then you jumped to not fighting for every dollar, great tip btw, my question is how do I get the items coming to me? Keep in mind i still haven't made millions. Thank you for your help!
Love these videos! Going on a marathon on your channel. We just got into it to sell some stuff around the house for some fund raising but your channel is inspiring us to make something out of it. Thank you!
Tell you one thing I did learn the hard way(like everything else I unfortunately learn lol)is that the ebay's shipping calculator is some BULL and SHIT atleast for testing first class packages coming from Forida.I was transitioning from dropshipping and thought I was about to have this storing items thing on lock after I did the math but when I got my first sale that shipping was NOT apart of the plan lol.I now have trust issues with ebay(atleast with storing items and shipping through their postage),the fucked up thing is this doesn't seem to be a common problem for most people so I guess this was just personal lol,on the bright side I now know the shipping for that weight height class range now.
If I have a winning bidder, I will review a buyer's feedback history and probably not sell to them if I suspect they've inflated their feedback by buying low cost items. It's undermining the feedback system
Thanks for the video Mike I’ve been doing ebay thing for a while now getting car parts from the junkyard and Selling anything I feel has value and I want to take it to the next level can you please make a video on how to find suppliers and how much money it takes to get started buying wholesale ect ...also do you have your own website where you sell or do you only sell on eBay/Amazon?
My only real challenge is listing burn out.. I can find endless items cheap but i can't get it all listed. Im considering subcontracting photographers but not sure how to scale at this moment.
So far ebay has been a total LOSE for me...can find NO product that sells or people want. Guess I can't Bullspit people into buying stuff that DON'T really need or want,,but then, I like sleeping well at night. But that's just me.
Most people Don't go into a Seller Feedback ratings in depth!! They just glance at feedback ratings. Hell today I have many buyers who don't even read the damn listings I make!! NO JOKE!! They buy my parts & tools without checking for compatibility with their items they need parts for. I have never seen so many idiotic stupid people (yes many buyers), but in Retail/eCommerce it's what you have to deal with. Most buyers are honest people, but that tiny percent can ruin your drive to succeed. Don't let it!! Let it go & move on. If you don't have the Money, Time & Drive in you to put up with people trying to scam you in every which way you can imagine, then eBay or Amazon is not for you. You have to give it a 110% in the beginning, even part time, or you will fail. My "Drive" is I am never satisfied with my store (I just got) because I strive to be the best I can with my listings & pictures, etc..... Since I started back up with eBay in late 2017 full time, I did purchase about 20 penny items and started back up that way (I left eBay for good in 2008 & was a strictly Target/Amazon buyer & I worked a "Real Job" from 2008-2017). I was a seller from 2002-2008, but left eBay completely as they pissed me off to no end!! I lost my then 2800+ feedback score as I just avoided eBay all together because you couldn't call them, it was all done through emails. After so many years without activity, you can't get your old account back either. I can still see & read all of my old feedbacks to this day. Now as a 2000+ seller feedback and Top Rated Plus seller within 2 months, I can't believe how easy it is now. Now you can actually "Call eBay" or "PayPal". "Back in the day" you didn't get any discounts for NOTHING!! NO shipping discounts, NO free listings, Nothing showed up in a Searches, unless it was in a "Auction Only" format, NO coupon codes, eBay Bucks, & the list goes on. It was not so user friendly back then. Today I am much older & have more money saved to buy more inventory & have done so over the last 5 years approximately. So I knew what I was getting back into which made it so much easier for me & then to have all these "Incentives" & "Freebies" & "Discounts" they offer. If you Can't do this with all the help from eBay they never offered before, you will fail. If you have all the above mentioned things in you to be an Entrepreneur, You Will Succeed!! Good Luck!!
Where do you get inventory from? I've been selling my own things as well as smaller finds on letgo/offerup to flip for a few years now. I'm interested in scaling the model, but you're right, goodwill and thrift shopping isn't consistent enough. That's like playing the lotto not a sustainable model. Do you just find products from Alibaba and flip those or? Thanks for your advice.
Diymike can you recommend what Make/Model of vehicles have "Lug Nut" covers that sell for good $$ I'm assuming the Chrome ones sell for the most ? It seems that those off of Jeeps and 80s and 90s era SUVs sell well and for decent $$ I ask beacause............ I'm going to go to a few Junk yards around my area, and look and see if I can find these type of "covers" on various vehicles Thanks so much
I am a VA for a chinese supplier supplier for almost a month now, started his ebay like from scratch and now he has almost 1k sale, the least he can do is acknowledge my hard work but instead he treats me like im stupid. So discouraging.
I agree with you man. I have been selling on ebay full time for 4 years and have never left my office to go find product. I will do videos to show how its done but most people that source the way we do will not reveal their sources of their products. I know I wont. None the less you had some great tips that people should focus on and grasp, regardless if they agree with the first few tips.
Ebay would tell you that feedback means less than it used to. I think this is the result of buyer protection and overall buyer trust in Paypal. But I like your vids.

Hope it got better
Bro you are a real hard working man I watched your mother's day video and did touch my heart I didn't see my mother over 10 years because she lives cross the ocean, I want to be like you bro, I'm just start doing eBay as a seller but I start with colthes but it slow.
Can you elaborate on how you do business? You are correct - Goodwills are a time suck and not very profitable.
Mchammer Smith he sells auto parts, also gets parts made in USA, he has a warehouse.
Thank you so much for your advice Diymike, I really like the part where you said that we usually have lots of stuff just sitting around the house and it has no value if it's just going to be occupying space. big thumbs up buddy and if I find one of your ebay listings, I will definitely buy from you.
Thanks Mike...been a stay at home mom...gotta figure out how to pay for tuition...this is really helpful.
Great stuff mike! Love the last tip for scaling and not fighting for every dollar!
I was a seller on eBay. It ended today because I don't have a phone number. Here's what I would say to new sellers on there:
Don't do it.
Hell yeah! I love it man. Share you success, share your insight.
Hundreds of $ for me! I have a international exclusive thing, only a certain amount made! 😋
Edit like 2 secs later: I have thousands of old toys...
I've been doing Ebay since they opened and your a great teacher. Thank You
Mike, I just really want to say thanks for taking the time to explain what you do and being a down to earth person.
I love your face it’s cheeky
Lol, 1 penny, but, they charge $12.95 shipping.
try epacket
Hello madam I'm from India I like to work with you.
One way to buy feedback for pennies is looking for digital pictures, that's how i started building my feedback. Buy a digital picture/desktop background for .50 cents and the shipping will be free because it will come in an email.
@@eStudio15tec I used to sell these pictures, and I knew they were being bought for feedbacks.
Actually, DIYMIKE is being very misleading. The auctions BEGIN at a penny, but usually go higher. Very few actually sell for a penny.
Great video man! Last piece of advice is the best piece of advice.
My best advice for dropshipping: If you're not manufactuer/Chinese just don't waste your time cause u wont sell shit unless youre willing to resell popular brands and then get sued and get huge fine.
So do you order all the products you sell through Ebay or through whole sellers or through both?
I don’t have hardly any feed back but I’m selling at least 1-2 items a day so I don’t agree totally with the feedback statement although I do agree you should strive to have 100% great feedback
New subby right here. :0) Best eBay selling advice I’ve ever heard. Going to browse and binge watch your channel.
probably should watch someone that isn't lying and actually is a seller.
Hey bro ! Recently there’s a lot of scammers on eBay . They mainly buy the most expensive item on ur listing and then give u problem after they received the item . How to counter that problem ? It’s very frustrating as a seller when they know I’m new & low rep so they can take advantage...
Jung yunho are you taking a look at feedback score from the buyer?
Your Videos are so great! You are such an inspiration.
Very knowledgeable! Thanks Mike
The formula to making big bucks on eBay is sell small expensive items. Things that sell well are tech and unique items.
Like your advice please make more videos. Your content is very valuable.
Thanks for your videos Mike.
When buying....Ebay is much more user friendly than Amazon. You know where an item is shipped from.
Also cheaper
RUclipsrs can discover good sales on eBay
You are so close to 100k
I would like to see you give my technical how to and less repeating information.
Agree with all of this! Excellent video!!
Really appreciate your videos buddy. Where to buy the inventory from is my only question ? thanks a lot
You're doing good bro, make more on where to purchase cheap items from.
Your inspiration bro subscribed
I haven't gotten started on eBay but I have created my account. I look forward to learning from you.
Love these videos! Going on a marathon on your channel. We just got into it to sell some stuff around the house for some fund raising but your channel is inspiring us to make something out of it. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I would definitely love more advice from you!!
Wise beyond your years Mikelson
I love John Mayer, great reference haha
If I have a winning bidder, I will review a buyer's feedback history and probably not sell to them if I suspect they've inflated their feedback by buying low cost items. It's undermining the feedback system
Thanks for the video Mike I’ve been doing ebay thing for a while now getting car parts from the junkyard and Selling anything I feel has value and I want to take it to the next level can you please make a video on how to find suppliers and how much money it takes to get started buying wholesale ect ...also do you have your own website where you sell or do you only sell on eBay/Amazon?
Your awesome man, thank you for your advice.
Congratulations
Thanks this will help a lot I really want to be successful in the automotive industry
Ur the man Mike u should be a role model in ebay !1
Looks like you hit that RUclips gole and got the silver play button!
Good Luck!!
Good advice mike, I do get too attached to my stuff and end up not selling much
Thanks for the great advice!!
I really appreciated the first one to buy 100 items for .01
Thank you for your great and honest advice.!
Thanks for your advice.
he has no inventory he's just making this all up lol
Great Advice Mike!
Good advice fam thanks fr
Tried to go around bidding and after bidding on the third item my account reached a buying restriction only allowing to purchase Buy Now items.
Awesome video thanks for the tips & tricks bro!
What tip why are you thanking him?
Diymike
can you recommend what Make/Model of vehicles have "Lug Nut" covers that sell for good $$
I'm assuming the Chrome ones sell for the most ?
It seems that those off of Jeeps and 80s and 90s era SUVs sell well and for decent $$
I ask beacause............ I'm going to go to a few Junk yards around my area, and look and see if I can find these type of "covers" on various vehicles
Thanks so much
I am a VA for a chinese supplier supplier for almost a month now, started his ebay like from scratch and now he has almost 1k sale, the least he can do is acknowledge my hard work but instead he treats me like im stupid. So discouraging.
Can you describe exactly how we can get the products we want shipped to us instead of goodwill shopping
Thanks for the video. I appreciate your candor.
how do you get to the point where products come to you instead of going out looking for them in thrift stores etc.?
I agree with you man. I have been selling on ebay full time for 4 years and have never left my office to go find product. I will do videos to show how its done but most people that source the way we do will not reveal their sources of their products. I know I wont. None the less you had some great tips that people should focus on and grasp, regardless if they agree with the first few tips.
I don't have $1000 worth of stuff, period. Nevermind that I could sell.
I took a break from ebay for about 4 or 5 years. I'm having issues selling anything like I used to.
Yes, more eBay advice, please.
Ebay would tell you that feedback means less than it used to. I think this is the result of buyer protection and overall buyer trust in Paypal. But I like your vids.
Ye more videos please! Also please show your warehouse
Great video really good info!
What camera and mic are you using for this video?
