Not necessarily. My last place was twice the size of this one, in Parkdale, for $1300. We lived there from 2012 - 2021 and the rent never went up. Assuming this is the case with Camille as well.
This is an exceptionally rare price for a quality 1 bedroom unit with natural light…so exceptional that I have a hard time believing it, this price might have been true in the late 90’s but not now. What 1000$ ACTUALLY gets you in Toronto these days is a basement apartment, no windows, mould and cockroaches….and you are likely sharing it with 2-4 other people. Beautifully decorated though! She has terrific taste and a good eye.
She must have been living there since 2008 because there is NO WAY she pays that much. you couldnt get a place like that that cheap 10 years ago. That place would be over twice that price now, almost 3 times that.
How beautiful. It has a very French vibe. Doesn’t look like Toronto at all, wow. Great job!!! I wonder where this is in Toronto. That rent is insane. Would be way more these days.
Pretty cool, I like how it's not empty but not cluttered either. Amazing subtle accent too, you can only detect it sometimes which is what makes it amazing! 😊
Wonderful apartment with vintage vibes. They make cohesive and cozy space. The total price of 1000$ is extremely low, I lived Toronto's downtown in between 2014-9 and literally nothing existed downtown at such a price back then. My studio costed more. Happy to see such unique and feminine space, that is not too sweet. Absolutely love the backsplash.
Hi! We decided not to film much of the bathroom only because it was a very tight space and hard to get good shots But we’re sure Camille would really appreciate your comment, if you’d like to see more of her apartment - you can find her on instagram @camille_ttw
She has a nice place, but the $1000 rent is probably because she's lucky to find a rent controlled unit and just stayed there for over 10 years or something 😂 A unit that size is average $2500/month these days.
When she shows the bottom of the bathroom, you can see a shower curtain to the left, so there is a shower :) I think the mirror next to the bathroom gave the illusion that the bathroom is smaller than it is
There is no way an apartment like this is $1000 unless she took over from her dead grandmother in a controlled rent building who lived there for 30 years. Plus the apartment is probably at Vic park and Lawrence or somewhere similar which is the suburbs North York and I wouldn’t consider it Toronto cause it will take you an hour to get downtown lol.
ya...but the porcelain sink and ribbed sides on both sides are the same as my Nannies house...which they had bought back in 1924 maybe...around Rodgers Road and Eglington......identical sink...very old! The fixtures are new. Also...the closets in the tiny 2 bedroom attached home...were tiny...just like she showed...fit very little...all the bedrooms had these tiny closets...People had much fewer clothes...or they had wardrobe closets...separate furniture pieces in the room as well.
I am stumped because that price is from 25 years ago.....you cannot get such a price not only in Toronto but in southern Ontario. I thought for sure she would sharing wth two other people.
This isn’t a true representation rent prices in Toronto at all. And I think you and I have different views of minimalism. Your bedroom is crammed with clothes and whatnot. It looks very cluttered to me. Like all your clothes don’t even fit in your closet. Same with the other rooms. You have ALOT of stuff hun. Not to be a critic but you are definitely not minimalistic in any way.
Clickbait title. This is a below market rate rent for Toronto. This rate was possibly correct 20 years ago.
Clickbait for sure! $1000 maybe 20 years ago - exactly what I said.
it should be 2200./month. clickbair

But if she was old tenant that could be possible, 10 years ago i started with 900 a month it went slowly to 1400 till last yr
this is a 2200/month place in toronto.

She is French for sure. I know because i am French.
I live in Toronto. It's *remarkable * that she was able to find this space for o my $1,000
We agree-it's pretty remarkable! To be exact, the cost is $1,100, which is still an amazing find for a space like this in Toronto.
@@theartofinteriors $1,100 is really an amazing find for a space like this in Toronto.
Agreed!
You have a very welcoming home Camille. Enjoy.
We agree and are sure Camille would appreciate your comment!
Fabulous decor and use of space! Thank you for the tour!

When was this filmed and posted.
That is HUGE for $1000. It must be through a family member.
What a nice dive dear ❤. Great job. 👍🏾

Greetings from oakville thanks for the presentation 😂
Wonder where the couch is from (brand)
Lovely and you have done a terrific decorating job - my only question is I did not see a shower in your bathroom.

For $1000, not bad!
What did happen in this shoes cabinet?

Well it’s all good, except you can’t get an apartment in Toronto for this money. Room only and not in the best location
You won’t find an apartment under $2,000 now unfortunately
“I hate technology” while filming and posting on RUclips lol
Where is the shower I'm so confused how does she take a shower

Did she say she is a minimalist? Maybe I hear it incorrectly.

Sorry, but that wall mural she ‘collaborated’ on is absolutely hideous - spoils the whole apartment (the rest of which is lovely). Ugh.
Really? It's my favourite part of the whole place. It's so chic and fresh. I'm inspired now to do the same :)

It's for privacy 😅
