As someone who works Unarmed Security, this guy is a perfect “What Not to Do”. He 100% deserves to get arrested for his behavior. Day 1 of any security company orientation, they’ll hammer “YOU ARE NOT A COP” into your head a hundred times before you leave, then pepper the idea around the next 2 days.
If anyone wearing a Securitas or Allied Universal uniform tries to detain you in any way, challenge it. If they persist then you’ve probably got a nice settlement coming your way from a lawsuit.

The case itself seems to be sealed, as I can't find much information regarding the case itself nor the victim, but from what details we have it seems like the victim was between the ages of 12 and 15.

If Jeremy keeps doing this, particularly as a police impersonator attempting to detain people while wearing what appears to be a loaded weapon, eventually he's going to meet someone who fears for their life, and acts accordingly.
My grandfather passed away a few years ago and as a military officer was given a convoy by the actual police from the church where the service was held to the military cemetery where he was interred. At the time, I drove one of the civilian vehicles in the convoy, and everyone, police included, drove the speed limit for the vast majority of the time. The police did occasionally drive forward to signal people over, but were for the most part very respectful and patient with people. You know, almost somberly, like someone had died.

He claims to this day to have met the victim in a bar, asserting that she possessed a fake ID when, in actuality, the victim was the child of a friend, whom Dewitte was trusted to supervise.
You would *think* that Dr. Phil would do his homework, or at least his staff would, to find out that the "past" the police are apparently prejudiced against him for is not actually impersonating an officer, but being a convicted sex offender. Woulda at the very least made a nice bombshell to drop on his ass on the show.

My grandpa used to impersonate a sherriff every few weeks. One of his buddies was the town sherriff in the rural town my grandpa lived in, and he was dating a gal in a different town. So every weekend this guy would take off to visit his girlfriend, and my grandpa and his other buddies would take turns playing sherriff for him while he was gone. It was pretty harmless though, not much going on in a tiny farm town where everyone knows everyone

Fun fact about that Dr. Phil show with Dewitt: the motorcycle he shows to Dr. Phil has yellow and amber lights which he is allowed to have. In his bodycam footage though the lights on his companies vehicles look blue and red, which is absolutely illegal and has been the reason for several arrests. Meaning this dude probably refitted his bike to meet legal requirements specifically for this show.

That man has never done good for any of the people on his show, and all the children and young people with mental issues that get exploited by their family members, just have their shit-uations publicized and get made fun of, or in cases of people like daniel bregoli, they are simultaneously shamed and supported by their parents, who will do anything to get attention out of their children without ever trying to help them. That girls mother and that frauds shit show ruined her life and basically cemented her terrible phase and need for attention.

You call the actual cops or just 911. 911 will direct you to the correct number to call if needed but if you're in your local area find out the sheriff officer number and program it into your phone.
If you're ever unsure or scared you can call them and confirm the person who is pulling you over is really a cop and not someone like this.

@@pigeonatic I was a cop I know you all hate us, I get it, whatever. But that isn't how investigating into police officers goes. At my last department even having to use code lights responding to a call warranted a report attached to the case as to why I felt it was necessary to use emergency codes. If a cop had to use a taser, he was put in a desk job until the investigation was complete. We never had a shot fired in the seven years I worked there, but a case involving shots fired would be a NCIS investigation, desk job, or whatever the boss warranted. You can choose to just blindly hate me, I'm used to it, but that is at least from my department how cop incidents are handled.
Also, NCIS would take most of these investigations because they are from a different department and have no bias. They don't know us so they treat each incident as if it was another case, and they thoroughly question each incident. Once again though, that was my department. We worked heavily with the DOD so we had decent funding.

Some states do have police escorts for funerals. In my county, police do escorts for really respectable/really old families or citizens. Like my great aunt, who devoted 45 years of her life to keeping our community clean. We had over 25 police cars escorting us and more than 50 cars packed with family members.

He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, he's banned from using security vehicles or equipment (I don't know for how long) and his license is suspended for 6 months after he finishes his sentence. The state has done a LOT to support and help this guy which is really gross.
