This was just one of those magic bands that was able to capture the attention, ...and imagination, of so many. I remember my best friend's older sister, who I did kinds have a crush on, but couldn't really relate to, Slaughter, was one of the few connecting points. For a skinny white girl, she was so into hardcore rap then. BUT, Slaughter brought out the rocker chick that I always hoped was in her. My GOD, how old am I? She has a 16 year old son now. Was it really that long ago?
They were quite popular for 3 years , but there music would not be played on mainstream radio , only the ballads that was unfortunate , so it was strictly album sales back then (not digital like today) and they had platinum album maybe 2, and couple of top 40 hits and a major tv appearance and it is not fair cause Mark was one of the 25 best rock singers all time
chris haberland I'm 47 and my only guy friend ever, Casey Hartner, was killed in a car accident in 1994. We loved Slaughter!!! He is still with me and he was and is the coolest guy in the world!
Have been a Mark Slaughter fan since he was with that Clusterfuck otherwise known as the Vinny Vincent Invasion. Saw the video for "Love Kills" and just couldn't believe that huge voice came from him! I went out right away and bought the VVI album only to find out after I bought it, that it wasn't Mark singing on the album! It was some guy Robert Fleishman, or something like that, singing. So when I watched the video for "Boyz gonna Rock" , it was Mark in the video, but not his voice. I think Vinny Vincent owes me my money back for false advertising, LOL. I wonder what ever happened to good old Vinny? Was a shame cos he really was a great guitarist, but had way too big of an ego and thought the world owed him something cos he was a member of Kiss BRIEFLY. Waste of a good talent.
I believe VV was jealous! Instead of using his brain and allowing the singer to front the band he wanted all attention! Think of how much money he let go of because of his hate for Mark Slaughter!
