    I've said it before and I'd say it again buddy... you did not waste a single moment when you were here. I don't think I've run into someone who had such a productive time. Good to see.

      Aww you are too kind! I really appreciate that. And you’re right, I knew my time in NZ was limited so I tried to make the most of it! But still so much I want to see there!

    I've been thinking about the two places in the world I would like to live more than anywhere else in the world. One is whitehorse Yukon Canada and the other is Milford Sound,

      I can only speak for Milford Sound but it was the most beautiful place I have ever lived. Oddly enough, I’ll be living in Canada, hopefully soon. I’ll have to see if I make it to the Yukon!

      I've never been to either but based on research on climate and everything else they have their similarities and differences. Whitehorse is much drier and colder (colder at least outside of their respective summers). Both are in sparsely populated areas. Whitehorse has bigger population, but the surrounding area is even more remote than Milford sound and its surrounding area.
      What part of Canada will you be moving to? I think Yukon and BC are probably the prettiest although they have been problems with forest fires recently that they never had before. Actually, most of the forest fires seem to be in Alberta but the smoke flows into both BC and the Yukon.

      Not sure where I’d be in Canada. Most likely Montréal but maybe could move out west. Or for sure travel there.
      Milford was pretty remote in that there was no cell service and the nearest town was small and 2 hours away. I basically was living in a national park!

      Yes they did, right over the waterfall. I think an Alien movie was also filmed in the area.

    How long on average is the drive from Queenstown to Milford I have seen different answer. 2-5 hour mark mainly. Google maps is saying 3.5 hours.

    • @aStrayLife
      @aStrayLife  2 года назад +1

      The roads in New Zealand are not like other countries and you should estimate that it will take longer than what Google maps says. Queenstown to Milford takes about 5 hours, especially if you haven’t made the drive before. The road to Milford Sound is very windy and narrow at times so you can’t just drive the speed limit the whole way. Also, if you want to stop along the way at the various overlooks and such it may take longer.

    • @aStrayLife
      @aStrayLife  2 года назад +1

      I lived in Milford Sound from June through September. June is not the coldest time and shouldn't be too cold. There also shouldn't be too much snow which can cause road closures (heavy snow will close the road due to avalanche risk). Just keep an eye on the weather in the week or two leading up to your trip but I think you'll be fine! And if not, be prepared to visit Doubtful Sound or other cool places in the area!
