So glad you showed Milford in all her glory - I got really upset with another RUclips couple who took the coach trip from Queenstown, then complained about the crowds - what do you expect! They then said Doubtful Sound was better because they took a luxury overnight trip. Their takeaway? Milford isn't worth it. Am I the only one who gets the issue here? 😂❤
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments! We're sorry we missed Dunedin this time - there's always more to explore on future trips. 😊 We absolutely loved Te Anau and completely agree about its special atmosphere. It was a perfect base for our Fiordland adventures. And you're right, Milford Sound is actually a fiord - thanks for sharing that interesting fact! We're glad we could show Milford's true beauty. Every place has its own magic, and we feel lucky to have experienced Milford in a way that really resonated with us. Your insights have us excited to discover more of New Zealand's hidden gems on our next visit! ❤️🇳🇿
Wow, what a fantastic journey through New Zealand! Your video really captures the beauty of Milford Sound and Fiordland. Your itinerary is so well-planned, it's inspiring me to think about my own trip. Can't wait to see more of your adventures! 😊🌏
Whoop! Big ups to you for chosing to stay in Te Anau, and not falling into the Queenstown tourist trap of driving (or god forbid, taking a coach!)! Te Anau is stunning and probably what I would describe as the most 'spiritual' place I've been on the South Island - it just feels sacred (like you can visit, but you shouldn't stay, if that makes sense?) ❤🤗
I'm here after Windows 11 suggested me a picture of Milford Sound for my desktop. As a fellow traveler it's been lovely to watch this video, you guys. Appreciate it a lot, your production value is excellent (video quality, audio, editing). I'm super happy to subscribe. Looking forward to watch more videos like this, from you. Kind regards from Peru :)
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words! It's amazing how a desktop picture led you to our video. We're thrilled you enjoyed it and appreciate your compliments on our production quality - we put a lot of heart into these videos. We're so glad to have you as a subscriber and look forward to sharing more travel experiences. Greetings from Australia to Peru! 👋🇦🇺🇵🇪 We'd love to visit your beautiful country someday.
Thank you! We're always eager to return to the South Island's wonders like Milford Sound, but also keen to explore the North Island one day -it's been high on our bucket list for a while ⛰️🙌
@@PackUpExplore it's completely different up here and there are also many amazing places to explore and go tramping (hiking). Tongariro Northern Circuit is excellent.
Thanks for sharing! It's great to hear you also enjoyed Milford Sound. October must have been a beautiful time to visit too. How was the weather there? It's such a breathtaking place, isn't it?
Thank you so much for your kind words! How exciting that you're planning a South Island adventure - February is a beautiful time to visit. Part 2 is actually already available on our channel, and we're currently working on Part 3 (out of 4 total). Hope these videos help with your trip planning. Wishing you an amazing journey - 3 weeks is perfect to soak in the South Island's magic! 🇳🇿✨
Thank you for your comment! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! I totally understand why the cat caught your attention - it was such an adorable and unexpected highlight of our stay. The place we stayed at was called 'Glacial Rock Cottages' near Tutoko Lane in Te Anau. The furry guest wasn't advertised, just a delightful surprise, so I can't guarantee cat cuddles, but the cottages themselves were lovely. If you do stay there, I hope you get lucky with a feline visitor too! It really adds that extra touch of coziness to the experience🐻❄️☺️
Thank you, I appreciate it! ☺️ For our trip, we used Airbnb for all our accommodation bookings, including a fantastic farm stay in Te Anau. Even though we only started looking about a month before our departure, which was quite last minute, we still managed to find good places to stay. My advice would be to start your search earlier than we did if possible - that will give you the most options to choose from. Wishing you a fabulous upcoming trip in November! New Zealand is such a breathtaking country, I'm confident it will win your heart over just like it did for us.
Simply stunning. Which month did you guys visit? Wanted to see NZ exactly like this with snow capped mountains. We are planning to visit in July. Is it a good idea?
Oh thank you! We went in August, it was beautiful winter weather, we were also very keen to catch the snowy mountains🏔️we absolutely loved it! I’m sure July is equally beautiful and perhaps even more snowy🌨️
It depends, we got lucky with the weather, so it was quite sunny and temperature around 10-12 degrees (celsius) during the day. But it’s minus at night and if it starts raining, could be something like 5-6 degrees.
Thank you so much, I appreciate your kind feedback! 🙌 You're on the right track - my accent is Eastern European, but after living in Australia for 5 years, I've been trying to pick up more of an Aussie twang. It's a work in progress though, as those Eastern European roots run deep. Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed the vlog despite my muddled accent! Travel has a way of blending cultures and accents together.☺️😃

You're right 👌 - New Zealand was settled very late. Archaeological evidence shows Polynesian settlers first arrived around 1250-1300 CE, making it one of the last major landmasses humans reached.
New Zealand is by nature wonderful. Politically it is a very divided country. The native population of Māori is not respected and works in low cost jobs as cleaning a street works. Sure good for tourism, but what about the native population?
@@PackUpExplore Sorry to say so, I lived in Wellington for 4 years , so I was not a tourist. Communicated a lot with the native population about this. Prove me if I am wrong.
This is truly breathtaking, I can't wait to get there myself!
can’t agree more, it’s probably top of our travel list so far

As a Kiwi outdoors gal and tramper, I totally get it! 😅
It's interesting seeing what different people think about our stunning little country. ❤

Awesome Video I'm planning my first trip to Milford sound from the North Island NZ 🗻⛰️

The cat... 😩❤️❤️❤️❤️
😊 it was the fluffiest and softest cat 🥹
We visited Milford Sound in October 2019 a beautiful place
Thanks for sharing! It's great to hear you also enjoyed Milford Sound. October must have been a beautiful time to visit too. How was the weather there?
It's such a breathtaking place, isn't it?
The weather in October was quite good actually
Great video and narration. We are headed to the South Island late February, 2025 for 3 weeks. When will you have part 2 ready?

wow! amazing video! ❤
thank you - really glad to hear that you enjoyed it 🥰
A Sound is a flooded river valley, Marlborough Sounds are such, Fiords are flooded glacial valleys, Fiordland is such.
Great clarification! and both sounds and fiords are stunning.
I can't express that how I intimate with this video
😳
Thank you for this! May I know the name of the farm/airbnb you stayed at in Te Anau please? The cat may have sold it for us

Which month did you visit Milford Sound? I was there in Feb but there was no snow capped mountains, they look beautiful
This is end of August (end of winter). I would say it’s the best time, as you can see snow capped mountains and it’s not super cold 👌
These shots are great! What camera are you shooting on?
Thanks 😊 it was shot on Sony a7III and iPhone 13 Pro
What are the farms you stayed in South New Zealand, please? I'm looking for places to stay.
Thank you for your comment! I’ll need to check other places, but this one in the video was called 'Glacial Rock Cottages' near Tutoko Lane in Te Anau.
Wow this is amazing!! I'm planning NZ trip 2024 Nov (🤞). Can you tell me how do you find accommodation?
Thank you, I appreciate it! ☺️ For our trip, we used Airbnb for all our accommodation bookings, including a fantastic farm stay in Te Anau. Nice video! Thanks for sharing. Im going in July. Oh BTW what camera did you use in your video? From Brisbane here.
July - it should be really nice there 👌 are you going to Queenstown to ski?
It was Sony A7II + iPhone 13
Actually they misnamed then 'sounds' as sounds are carved out by the sea and fijords by glaciers. It should be nmed 'milford fjord' ❤
During the winter period, what's the temperature like in Milford Sound?👍

In your commentary of Milford Sound tour there is no date when it was recorded. So comment about Covid test is still required?????
Hi there, it’s not required anymore :) the trip was back in 2022 - end of COVID lockdown times.
Great clip Pack up, I am in a dilemma as to your accent - northern european I suspect. Marvellous
Thank you so much, I appreciate your kind feedback! 🙌 You're on the right track - my accent is Eastern European, but after living in Australia for 5 years, I've been trying to pick up more of an Aussie twang. Hi, can we fly drone in NZ? Is there any docs needed?
There are different rules in different areas, so it’s better to check online 👌
Come visit my country Indonesia, there are many beautiful places here.
I would love to some day! Any specific part of country you would recommend?
In the process of creating a new instagram for the channel.
We haven’t been to Bali, but it’s on our list! It’s not that far away from Australia
Poor old Dunedin always gets left out 😓😅
what was the name of the place you stayed at Milford sound
Hi, that was Eglinton Valley Camp ☺️
Which month did you visit?
I was late August - the end of winter 👌
how could you fly your drone there ?
What drone? There was no drone, it’s all AI :)
@@PackUpExplore ???

I went back home to NZ fir Christmas and New Year, i didn't have to do a Covid test, maybe Sth Island still has it.
It’s just because it was back in 2021. No Covid tests required, but they still giving away test kits at the airport
Nah shouldn't need to unless feeling sick
not sure that i got it, but okay😅
"One of the last settled areas..." The country was totally uninhabited by humans before ca. 1300 CE.

That's a great point-New Zealand's natural beauty is stunning, but it's difficult to talk about politics when you are a tourist
