John. I really like and respect the way you are prepared to show errors. I often watch sketchbook tours that appear awesome and start to feel inadequate because mine are by comparison, a mess. Thanks.

Thank John, another great lesson. Again, I love the way you break them down into different sessions, such a great way to follow at an easy pace. Please…never worry about going over time. Your videos are informative and fun and great with no pressure. Perfect 👌

Hi John, great style of sketching you have created. Really enjoy it. I happened to see this young artist last year in Instagram. I couldn't just believe that it was his style. But now, I can see he has taken after you. Exact same splashes, and the colours, exact kind of paper and shapes of the buildings and trees. I wish he had given you the credit for the art. I did ask him, he said that he has just picked it up. Which is sad trend in a world where we all stand upon the giants before us, like you, who has crafted and shared their art generously. Best Wishes and may you do more wonders!

Thank you for the lovely kind words, and also the information. There are lots of artists who work in my style, so it’s not surprising you came across someone on Instagram-it be interesting to see who this particular person was though?

I appreciate you taking the time to show your techniques. I am a beginner with line and wash and you are helping me immensely.

Hello John, I was about to write "I'd give 10 years of my life to achieve this" but at 70, 10 years is maybe a bit too much.
    Great again !

I should have a go at this and film it - then you’d be able to see what failure really looks like! ☺️
I love how it turned out so far, so I’m going to find you on IG to see the finished piece.

It’s reassuring to see that an experienced artist like you doesn’t get it perfect first go- gives me confidence as a relative beginner to just keep going- don’t be too self critical with my efforts as it’s normal to get perspective and angles wrong at times 🫣 … thank you!

Really lovely! Thank you for sharing. Just curious... are you using the original DS Quin. Gold (PO49) or the 'new' formulation (PO 48, PY 150)?

      Hi Perry,
Yes it is… it’s the A5 portrait version.
