From what I've tried in demo the only solution I found is a stop command but once the move order is issued she starts attacking again, it's either making her a sitting duck or just shoot away. The stop into move command used to not make her attack but I don't know when did they patched that out..
Blue Water game is literally balanced around a 5 min “get out of jail free” spell (Flash) that everyone has access too. Absolutely annoying and really disincentivizes trying new summoner spells

League also has the worse version of Windranger - Ezreal. Yep, he has the highest DPS*, but what that asterisk notices? If he lands his skillshots with 100% accuracy, and guess what, it never happens.
Unfortunately I don't agree, cause sometimes you lose simply by having a techies as they snowball off your lanes for free before he can mine high grounds effectively. It doesn't matter if the premise for picking your hero is different because you're still bringing 9 people into your shit.
sry but techies players are just like wr players. They only remember the times were the enemy team ran into their mines and they got a rampage...and not the times were the enemy bought a gem or sentries that counter your whole fucking kit.

League is the game for people with fast fingers but slow brains. Game knowledge in dota is so much more important than in league. In league all you need to know is when to go in and how to press your spells

Yeah, this video perfectly explains my Weird Ranger phase. Even when I was doing great it felt...wrong. Off. Something didn't add up. I always felt one item behind, one kill away from carrying an ultimately lost teamfight, or one teamfight away from winning the game. The high water mark was when I pulled off a Rampage once and felt awesome...but the rest of my team had died before I did it and as result I could do nothing but depush lanes and wait for respawns to do something useful. Playing WR was the most fun DotA experience I ever had that just didn't feel RIGHT. Sometimes I look back and say "man, maybe I should try WR again", and then I get this weird, inexplicable feeling in my mind that says "ehhhhhhh, NO".

You forgot to mention the best part about windranger carry. She can kill 1 person and then has to wait for her ult to go of cooldown before she can deal any real damage unless you also build a ton of attack speed, because her damage is incredibly low unless she vomits out a stream of arrows in your face.

People actually DO synergize on the sea server, especially us Filipinos in ranked matches. It possibly because you not used to the sea version of tempo.

Syaiful Mirza yes if wind moves out of range from the tree using windrun it will not latch. If the tree sprouts right before the shackle hits it will be a reliable latch. The latch is like templar assassins E where you need to be linear to the target and the latching thing. So knowing most WRs they will use shackle and then move in a different way which doesnt make that linear and the shackle will not land.

i love the difference between league and dota, people hate a character in league for having a 3 sec root on a mildly scuffed hitbox skillshot. meanwhile in dota enigma or tidehunter can blink ult the entire enemy team and refresh for a massive stun. and that's why i love dota it's just so balls to the walls with skills and innovations from the balance team (even if some decisions are questionable) anyway, love your work Slacks can't wait for the next loregasam
Yeah but LoL is a much faster game. Most games are like 20 max. 30 mins. on average while in Dota the average game is about 30-40 mins. 60 min games arent even rare here. Also in Lol you dont really have to farm creeps do get nice items. While it is useful, most Carrys end up just killing the entire team in a 1 vs 3 scenario while in Dota you really need to rely more on your team. Not implying that 1 vs 3 or even 1 vs 5 scenarios are impossible, but compared to lol they are rather rare. So thats why I like Dota. Its more tacticle while the actionful clashes do still exist.

(not to mention the custom games are bloody awesome and im sad not many people still play legends of dota) i find that league seems to be a more controlled environtment wheras dota 2 is wild and hilarious (both of which are good qualities in my eyes).
@@mophead-xk8dd there are many ways to cleanse cc in league. i think there might be more in league than in dota. there are 3 items that cleanse a summoner spell, and several champion some of which can make allies cc immune for a length of time.

Icefrog after seeing this video be like: Shackles will now automatically latch into anything even air. Powershot is now a homing skill if targeted on a hero. Windrun reworked, windrun can be activated/deactivated. Damages all nearby enemy like radiance does. 5 mana per second. Focus Fire attacks all enemy within WR's attack range and now ignores damage that comes from blademail or other damage return mechanism.
All Icefrog needs to do is to change Shackleshot, lets say, 100% slow (down to 100ms) for the same duration as a stun, if it does not land on 2 heroes or a tree. So it would be a reliable slow at least. And also maybe make her ult togglable for avoiding damage return.
@Sohan Biswas except he was divine what like 3 years ago. Actually he was never divine he was 5k. there were no medals then. So he hasnt calibrated since before the medal system
Windranger is one of my most played heroes, being in divine and having a 60% winrate with her I completely agree with most of what was said in the video.
Its also worth pointing out that, unlike on other heroes, getting any item on windranger feels like a sacrifice. If you go bkb, well, you're sacrificing your damage, you didnt go mkb, or crits or something. If you go damage, you might get caught, so you have to play safe. You get mobility? Well you might have both the previous problems. You might NOT have damage AND get stunned. It's a pretty one dimensional hero, and most wr players do their complete own thing. You'll be doing something as a team - anything from rosh to tier 2, and that windranger will see a hero on a ward on some part of the map - they will go there. Nothing matters more at that point then getting that kill. Ultimately, they kinda play their own game, and if it works and she gets away with it - great. Only "kinda" great actually, you most likely would've won anyway. If they dont get their way - you know of it instantly by looking at their KDA. They ran around trying to get kills, and didnt succeed.
i always had these thoughts subtly crawl in my head when i played WR. like "how the actual fuck am i supposed to be relevant IF i'm not making my lane opponent ragequit by stomping him into the dirt in 10 minutes?" i absoutely agree on every single thing said in this video. this is brilliantly wrapping up every WR player's unconscious thoughts and feelings. she is indeed hot garbage AND somehow still enjoyable to play for a vast number of people which should be controversial but it isn't cuz psychological reasoning you gave. this video is both VERY educational and VERY entertaining.The theoretical basis, the research, and the passion you've put into this is highly admirable. I am a Phoenix spammer who plays greedy support coz I know my carrys aren't reliable. I don't usually go greedy, but I play damage based support, radiance, dagon, refresher. Coz Sunray is more than sufficient for healing and de-healing purposes imo. With 1000+ wins, I think I can confidently say Phoenix is quite reliable. Please do breakdown of Phoenix. Techies has an even worse winrate than Windranger (taking a quick look over dotabuff, as i dont have dota+), with the even worse additions that he makes the whole game 4v5 for your team - and usually doubles the game length. So if you're trying to argue that Windranger is not a good team hero and then say 'and techies is different', then yes.. you just shat on your credibility

Even in pro matches it's so frustrating to watch because it makes the game longer and you have to triple check every single corner on the map only to find out that the madman put 80% of his time and resources mining Roshan.

I actually played a 2hr game againts an enemy techies that was the most frustrating game ever. I was a full slotted Morphling but we were already megad by 60 min and game dragged on for another 60min becoz late game techies is non existent but we cant push everytime we wiped them out.
I remember one match where we had a techies on my team and the enemy has tinker. We fought for 3 hours no joke. And we won. I love techies. Imagine the amount of anger the enemy team had after tryharding for 3 hours and still lose

What is the solution for huskar ult and blamail mid jump? or blood ult and to a lesser extent death prophet ult which really doesn't do a lot of damage in the short time blademail is up, but still all of them are worse than WR because they can't cancel the ult.

That actually quite easy: increase failed shackle duration to 50% of full one, change shackle target search from cone behind enemy to circle/spiral around enemy, remove damage fall off on power shot, make wind run repel projectiles like strafe on clinkz had, change ulty to something team fight oriented, change attribute to agi. 1. Shackles that hits nothing except the main target will now also slow & disarm the target on top of the ministun. For the same duration as a full shackle stun would. 2. How about make her ulti a free hurricane pike, like sniper's attack range on top of the max attack speed for maybe a shorter duration. That could give her something she's especially good at and solve her over commitment problem at the same time. Thoughts?
@@twh4526 disarm and slow wouldn't be useful as her windrun gives 100% evasion rate and movement speed bonus + slow debuff anyways. the ult bonus range will even be worse as she won't be able to escape range when getting blade mailed.
@@yagoosidol6338 Exactly, extend her specialty so she can chain her 2 spells and not stack. Incentivizing people to save windrun more for escape instead of for overextending. This may nullify her need to buy other escape items and thus making it possible for her to come online quicker. I should also point out that disarm cant be countered by mkb unlike evasion. So that means even if enemy gets mkb, her escape mechanism doesn't have to be her only way to survive anymore. This also means buying mkb against her may not be as much of an obvious choice anymore. Good point on the blade mail. Maybe remove the involuntary part of her ult?

Yeah, this video perfectly explains my Weird Ranger phase. Even when I was doing great it felt...wrong. Off. Something didn't add up. I always felt one item behind, one kill away from carrying an ultimately lost teamfight, or one teamfight away from winning the game.
The high water mark was when I pulled off a Rampage once and felt awesome...but the rest of my team had died before I did it and as result I could do nothing but depush lanes and wait for respawns to do something useful. Playing WR was the most fun DotA experience I ever had that just didn't feel RIGHT.
Sometimes I look back and say "man, maybe I should try WR again", and then I get this weird, inexplicable feeling in my mind that says "ehhhhhhh, NO".

She can kill 1 person and then has to wait for her ult to go of cooldown before she can deal any real damage unless you also build a ton of attack speed, because her damage is incredibly low unless she vomits out a stream of arrows in your face.

Syaiful Mirza yes if wind moves out of range from the tree using windrun it will not latch. If the tree sprouts right before the shackle hits it will be a reliable latch. The latch is like templar assassins E where you need to be linear to the target and the latching thing. So knowing most WRs they will use shackle and then move in a different way which doesnt make that linear and the shackle will not land.

i love the difference between league and dota, people hate a character in league for having a 3 sec root on a mildly scuffed hitbox skillshot. meanwhile in dota enigma or tidehunter can blink ult the entire enemy team and refresh for a massive stun. and that's why i love dota it's just so balls to the walls with skills and innovations from the balance team (even if some decisions are questionable) anyway, love your work Slacks can't wait for the next loregasam
Yeah but LoL is a much faster game. Most games are like 20 max. 30 mins. on average while in Dota the average game is about 30-40 mins. 60 min games arent even rare here. Also in Lol you dont really have to farm creeps do get nice items. While it is useful, most Carrys end up just killing the entire team in a 1 vs 3 scenario while in Dota you really need to rely more on your team. Not implying that 1 vs 3 or even 1 vs 5 scenarios are impossible, but compared to lol they are rather rare.
So thats why I like Dota. Its more tacticle while the actionful clashes do still exist.

CC in league is a very different animal when there are no BKB or playable cleanse effects.

Windranger is one of my most played heroes, being in divine and having a 60% winrate with her I completely agree with most of what was said in the video.
Its also worth pointing out that, unlike on other heroes, getting any item on windranger feels like a sacrifice. If you go bkb, well, you're sacrificing your damage, you didnt go mkb, or crits or something. If you go damage, you might get caught, so you have to play safe. You get mobility? Well you might have both the previous problems. You might NOT have damage AND get stunned. It's a pretty one dimensional hero, and most wr players do their complete own thing. You'll be doing something as a team - anything from rosh to tier 2, and that windranger will see a hero on a ward on some part of the map - they will go there. Nothing matters more at that point then getting that kill. Ultimately, they kinda play their own game, and if it works and she gets away with it - great. Only "kinda" great actually, you most likely would've won anyway. If they dont get their way - you know of it instantly by looking at their KDA. They ran around trying to get kills, and didnt succeed.

Techies has an even worse winrate than Windranger (taking a quick look over dotabuff, as i dont have dota+), with the even worse additions that he makes the whole game 4v5 for your team - and usually doubles the game length. So if you're trying to argue that Windranger is not a good team hero and then say 'and techies is different', then yes.. you just shat on your credibility

1. Shackles that hits nothing except the main target will now also slow & disarm the target on top of the ministun. For the same duration as a full shackle stun would.
2. How about make her ulti a free hurricane pike, like sniper's attack range on top of the max attack speed for maybe a shorter duration. That could give her something she's especially good at and solve her over commitment problem at the same time.

@@twh4526 disarm and slow wouldn't be useful as her windrun gives 100% evasion rate and movement speed bonus + slow debuff anyways. the ult bonus range will even be worse as she won't be able to escape range when getting blade mailed.
@@yagoosidol6338 Exactly, extend her specialty so she can chain her 2 spells and not stack. Incentivizing people to save windrun more for escape instead of for overextending. This may nullify her need to buy other escape items and thus making it possible for her to come online quicker. I should also point out that disarm cant be countered by mkb unlike evasion. So that means even if enemy gets mkb, her escape mechanism doesn't have to be her only way to survive anymore. This also means buying mkb against her may not be as much of an obvious choice anymore.
Good point on the blade mail. Maybe remove the involuntary part of her ult?

He literally did a 28 minute video on the character he hates, analyzing psychologically... Who does that? XD. This game... jesus fucking christ this game is something else.. The toxicity, the rage, the love, cringe moments, cool moments, disappointments, the ECSTASY! All of these just screams passion. This is one of those very rare and exceptional games with fanatical followings and i dont think we will ever see this kind of community or game for a good while :'D :'D
