Pete you're a good dude man and I appreciate your thoughtfulness and honesty about this business. I agree, AZ too retail arbitrage is a cut throat business model and I did it for a couple of years and lost money doing it. I went back to my roots and made a ton of money selling thrift items on eBay and fell back in love with my margins compared to RA. Folks stay focus and true to your business model that you come up with.

You're the most genuine guy when it comes to reselling. You don't need to market or advertise yourself in a fashion like others do on RUclips. I don't know you personally, but I can tell you really care about your viewers, with what you do, and ultimately helping others. Mindset & taking action is everything and I want to thank you for helping me & others in my life, most likely a handful of people, people should realize this from your philosophy.

Hey Craigslist Hunter, I appreciate your candidness and honesty about the realities of being a re-seller. I think it's very easy to get caught up in watching all the videos about the money to be made, and forgetting about the work that has to go into sourcing , listing, packing and shipping all those items. I've sent in my first 2 shipments to FBA and there is a bit of a learning curve. Watching your videos really gave me the confidence to jump in and try reselling.

great video! really truthful and awesome info.
What I would add is, if you are new to reselling always remember there is a risk
Always know you can get scammed or ripped off by the buyer and loose the money you have invested
or spend a Lot of time trying to get your money back.
I have been reselling for a couple years trying to grow to full time, and the higher dollar, more popular item tend
to attract scammers. Just beware not to jump in to fast if you don't have the money to risk.
It would be good to see Pete put up a video on avoiding scammers and fake items.
    Thanks Pete !!!

Great tip and great video!

I recently started selling on ebay in my spare time. I did not know much about ebay or even how to do it but, I learned everything from your video's and, I thank you so much. I have been selling part time for the past 2 months and I have made over $800 extra income. It really does work. It is a lot of work and, I work full time in the automotive industry for the last 13 years and, someday I want to be a full time re-seller. I would love the freedom. I won't give up on my dream. Please keep the motivation and, video's coming. Great job on teaching how this all works. I could not have gotten started without your advice. Thanks again :)

Thank you for your insight and honest advisement. Went out today and purchased an item for resell and net that $20 mark. Much to my surprise, the item sold within an hour or two! You are absolutely correct that quantity in items for inventory will reach a sustainable income when focused on the $20-$30 margin. I will work on my business model to turn this sort-of-hobby into a viable business...Thank you for the videos!

I've been in the reselling game part time for almost a year now with plans to grow my business as my children enter school and I have more free time. Thank you sooo much you are an inspiration to me, I am in the grind as you say and I working toward what you are talking about for almost a year now. Stay focused, I needed to hear that. It is not easy in the beginning, starting with almost nothing, about $50, and growing this business. Now I have close to 1000 items listed on eBay and I am now selling FBA also. I am proof that it can be done. I am not at that sustaining income level yet, but I will keep grinding until I get there, thank you for sharing! So I can learn from the best!

    Honest question here.
You almost always talk about the different sourcing methods and how you utilize and promote those. People bringing items in, craigslist, ect. But how do you go about selling items from the shop, obviously a large portion of your inventory is not for sale on eBay or Amazon at all. Does the shop really generate enough traffic to sell bigger items consistently? or do you have to do some local advertising, craigslist, ect? It just seems like you would get alot more people in to sell items than to buy items, so how do you manage to push enough merchandise to keep the system balanced?

I love this Man !! Thank you so much for being so real all the time , I love my job but hate the senior Manager a bully causing me anxiety, I work like a dog ( female) and he enjoys just seeing ppl not doing well .
I always been top performance and working at this new job for 4 months I am not the powerful strong young lady everyone knows me for .
He bullies me and micro manage me and the whole team, i been doing high end fashion for 12 years in top high end designer company in UK but yet this man tells me everyday how and what to do in a small department I now suppose to manage , he tells my team to report to him not me .
I am stuck because i have a child and the hours in this store works better for me as I don't have help with my daughter after school club closes at 6 pm so does my store and that works okish but still pay a child minder to collect my daughter till i reach to her.
Is a fight really , everyday he talks down to us and the team is petrified of him to report him .
He been a store general manager for 18 years there and is all over the Internet about the store bullying manager , staff members do not last , 2 - 3 months max. I never changed job from my last job before stayed 12 years , but here 4 months i feel empty .
As I have a lot high end clothes unused that i bought during all this years I was advised to sell on ebay and start selling all this wardrobes that I have and dont wear .
I love selling at work people call me the money magnet i earn great commission and bonus hence why that manager hates me , customers are always asking for me .
I love fashion and customer service is my passion.
Start ebay 2 months ago selling, but nothing yet that would help me leave my job.
I want to be happy i want to be sucessful, i used to donate so much because i buy tons ,( shopaholic) but now after watching people like you Craig I am a changed person .
Please advise me in ways that can help me be a top seller to have more sales so I can leave that hell I go to 5 days a week, well from next week 6 days straight working with an awful human being is destroying the woman that I am .
Thank you if you read this .xxx

I wish i would have known about you about 10 years ago! I paid a man 100.00 dollars to show me how to sell things on Ebay! And it was nothing but a big waste of time and money! I literally threw my money down the proverbial drain. I cried when he left that day because he didnt really tell or show me a damn thing. Excuse my cussing! I was heart sick!
My hubby died in 2003 and when we were still working i bought lots of crafting things. He was in very bad health and i have a bad back. I knew he would go before me. I couldnt survive on disability. So to make it short. All that craft stuff i acquired over 5,000 dollars worth i started to make things
IFaberge goose eggs they are gorgeous, some can go for thousands of dollars or even 100 to 200! I tried to get on consignment with someone couldnt find anyone. I have been in the survival mode since 2003 i dont want another hubby or even a BF. I just want to keep my house and make some money. And i can do it. I make beautiful things. I do scrapbooking crochet lots of things. I decorate cigar boxes make purses and jewel boxes. I have a huge investment in allmy craft things but i cant make any money! I was on Craigs list>>nothing imon Ebay. Im afraid to sell i dont know how to do the bidding thing. im still learning, im not dumb! I just dont know how to get someone to sell things for me or show me how. I learned more from you in 5 minutes then that idiot guy i gave 100 bucks to in 3 hours wasted time! Wish i wouold have been able to hear you back then. I would be making money now! Thanks for your advice Love your videos.

Trying to do this in my rural area which is a bit challenging. I have another business and fo Ebay reselling in between. Coming up on my first year and I've grossed close to 30k, although one of the sales was a single rare photograph that sold in a gallery auction for 6500.00 (my take) which I paid 4.00 for. Won't find one of those every year....
We have about 5 local thrift stores where I've found most of my stuff, but I'm n the process of trying to locate small local auctions I can add to my sources.
Have been watching Craigslist Hunter about a year now and can't say enough about how much it's helped me. So true there is no get rich quick scheme involved in this, but just consistent hard work that makes it work. The one huge positive aspect is that I really enjoy it, it's like treasure hunting. I had a good metal detector for awhile and all I found was a few old coins , but the thrill of the hunt was really fun. This reselling is like that although the monetary rewards are much greater.
I'd love to add an employee and ramp up this business but I need to find more sources for items before I can do that.
Am interested in seeing how and where you place your Craigslist wanted items ads, as you mentioned in this video for your next installment, I think this may be something that that will help my business.
Thanks for taking the time in sharing your experiences with us, really great of you to do that.

Thanks for the video. I have been a full time Amazon seller for 3 years now and it is getting tougher. So, I am blending ebay into my strategy. The bottom line is you need to work....a lot. It seems like when I am awake I am working.

Hey Pete, have you done a vintage audio tour of your personal set up at home? Also I'm wondering what kind of stuff you hold on to that you acquire while hunting. Stuff that you find neat enough to keep for your home. I started reselling and have run into stuff that I didn't want to sell.

Hi Pete, thank you so much for your advice, you're truly a good guy by sharing all this info. Prior to opening your stores and having people come to you with items to sell, how did you learn what was resellable? Did you do research? Was it just a feeling that a particular item would resell? I'm starting out and I think what I would like to buy might not be what others would buy. Just a little confused. Again, thanks. Michael
