I bought a didgeridoo a couple months ago and couldn't find a proper lesson. it took me 10 m to make a drone with you and I'm so thankful. you actual give mouth placement visuals which no one does. I can't understand why not. they just say do this with your mouth lmao . anyways thank you ten fold
Hi Master, I am starting to learn digiridoo with you. I started make sounds from the PVC pipes now I bought my first wooden digiridoo from varkala, the guy who sell made it. My dear friend Gopalji introduced the world of digiridoo to me. I have breathing problem and snoring problem, I really believe Digiridoo is the medication. So we start here Master 🙏🏻
ME2 I quit all carbohydrates and went with the hydrocarbons instead. Got healthy and now for me it is time to sustain it all with a stress free hobby such as a Didgeridoo. You Loose the carbs too dude and I will mastr the DDGDoo. They must complement each other well as both do the job on their own.
I’m getting some sound vibrations now, thank you for th lesson, please continue, you’re so good at this🙏🏽 I must say I’m finding it hard to gently blow for more than 15-20seconds. I shall keep practicing💪🏽haha there’s plenty of life left in this 53yr old woman. Actually I’m 54 this Sunday and hence my new didgeridoo❤️all handmade & hand painted with a story behind th art on her. Yes, my didgeridoo is a girl, need a beautiful, meaningful indigenous name for her now😁After all she came all th way from Australia to me in th UK yesterday❤️ And what a beauty🙏🏽
I tried so much videos and techniques, they are not bad, But this is the only one that took me slowly to actually make a real drone with vibration.... amazing , simple and really effective way of teaching.... Thank you so much
Grrreetings from Summery Finland. I have only now found out that breathwork, Nitirc=Oxide, sun UV IR exposure healtmining and YES ,DidgerDoo are linked. Got a plastic bottle and a vacuum cleaner pipe resonate nicely. Thanks to your tips :)
Ok I'm back. I watched your video on circular breathing not long ago. Why don't you comment back😂😂. So I got my didgeridoo this morning all day trying to make noise watching videos no sound. 5 minutes after doing exactly what you showed here and I hit my first sustainable resonant not. More people that want to play need to see this. Very cool and thank you.
I'm really glad to hear that this worked for you! Thanks for sharing! As for replying, it's easy to lose track of comments on 60+ videos. I do my best. I'm glad I saw yours! Contact me if you'd like any more help, perhaps one-on-one!
Thanks! I really needed this ultra-beginners lesson. I have been trying to play and can't get a good sound.. These tips seen to help 😊. If you have any more tips let us know where they are.
hey thanks, i think i have to try to adjust the pressure better, i think i hit a sound which might be the drone of my didge but im not realy sure, i guess staying on it and that sound will crystalize more into a clean sound
@morgothaod it took me a few days of practicing to get the right sound. At first I thought the instrument was defective, the way I picked it up is by watching videos and trying different positioning with my lips -- eventually i learned to get it to sound right intermittently - and every time i got it sounding right, I would hold that sound as long as I could and observe exactly how i was positioning my lips and how much air i was blowing. Then I would try to replicate it until it became normal to do so. You almost feel it when you are getting it right, feels like a rumble going through your head :)
@@planetwally hey, i just started two days ago and I'm struggling to get a drone sound. Mine sounds like a deep long fart. Do you have any tips or sets of videos i could watch. This video helped me a lot but i need more info
Sometimes after playing for a little while when I'm good and warmed up, I have issues getting the drone started. From a cold start never an issue. Been playing for about 6 months now. Kinda weird, but wondered if you have ever heard of this issue. Btw, awesome vids. Thx for sharing!
There isn't really a "proper" size as it varies for everyone. I supposed we could come up with a standard range, though. Perhaps I'll check with the Didgeridoo Learning Community group on FB and ask everyone to measure their mouthpieces! :)
Only just found this so I'm late to the party, hey I've only just found my interest in learning the didge so jumped in and bought one and now I need pointers like this. Another thing most people don't really do is to show a camera angle just to the side of your head looking directly at mouth placement in the mouthpiece, would this help or am I overthinking it?
This is super helpful. I have noticed that the only way to get a drone, is when my cheeks are puffed out... Would you recommend me not puffing out my cheeks to try and make the drone sound?
I practised for rwo hiurs laar night and got my drone happening for the veey first rime. Im having a lot of difficukty qith breathing through my nose while maintabing any type of rhythm.
Do I actually need a didgeridoo to learn playing it? It seems that to make a sound you mainly need to get your lips vibrating - the didge is maybe just an amplifier? Could you tell the difference between a real didge and just a pipe from the do-it-yourself store?
You don't actually need the didge, no! But of course it's much more fun using the didgeridoo's acoustic ability to amplify certain frequencies and also help hold the mouth in place. A pipe from the hardware store definitely works too!
Thanks for your tips, I recently had a didgeridoo and I'm trying to play it. I can produce the good sound/vibration pretty well but it takes too much air strengh so I can't make it sound while breathing as I've seen on another tutorials. The cheek strength is not enough to keep the vibration continued. Are there some instruments more difficult to play than others? It's a bit frustrating needing that much strength from diaphragm.
I would start by putting word out to local players that you're searching for one. Where do you live? The Didgeridoo Learning Community on Facebook can help you get started.
Only if you feel like you need additional help with the seal between your mouth and the moutpiece, or you want to shape it a bit differently. Otherwise it isn't really necessary.
im watching this because i love lips and this guy got a pair. i also happen to be learning to play the didge, but man. lookit them lips. hhngh #creepycomments
Hi I need some help please , I can get a drone although after t mins my lips are all tingly ( is this normal for beginners?) I have reached a point where I can blow out through my cheeks whilst breathing in , my issue is how to maintain the “buzz fir that split second , Any help is much appreciated Thank you
It sounds like you're really close to getting it! You might just need more time and practice....or.....maybe I can help in some one-on-one lessons? Have you checked out my Patreon page where you can get monthly one-on-one attention? patreon.com/breathwood

I've watched so many videos but the only trick that could get my drone started was your one about the smile. Thanks dude.
I'm one minute in and I already love this guy I'm ready to pay for him to come to my place
Haha, that's awesome. I'd happily come teach a workshop!

Thanks. Got my drone down cause of this vid. Continuing on!
Michael Purcell Im wondering if I got a crappy didge
Extremely helpful. Thank you.
I like your experimental approach .. it would have been very exciting to search for best resonance pitch for different pipe lengths ..
Just ordered basic didgeridoo!!! Thank you for lessons!!!
You're the BEST
Aw thanks!
You are a great teacher
Thank you!
Thank you this video was super helpful I'm catching on pretty quick because of my trombone training of the past
Its interesting how different it is from playing a brass instrument
I'd love it if you came up here to Alaska!:)
OMG, I'd love to come to Alaska! Let's do a workshop!
You are very charming teacher
I was actualy thinking the same thing, that i should have someone play my didgerido so i know what sound im looking for. And actualy good tips.
Thank you! Got it because of you.

Hmm, weird! I haven't actually heard of that. Is it possible that your lips just start feeling a little tired? It could be a matter of endurance....
Breathwood Not sure. I wonder if it has something to do with my mouthpiece. Have you ever done a video on proper mouthpiece sizing?
There isn't really a "proper" size as it varies for everyone. I supposed we could come up with a standard range, though. Perhaps I'll check with the Didgeridoo Learning Community group on FB and ask everyone to measure their mouthpieces! :)
i got the same problem did you know what it was-_?

I personally learned that basic drone sounds in like... 10 minutes? Idk I just use the right side of my mouth, works way better for me than the middle
That's definitely a faster way for some folks!
Thanks bunches!
Mona Lisa smiles now even more
This is super helpful. I have noticed that the only way to get a drone, is when my cheeks are puffed out... Would you recommend me not puffing out my cheeks to try and make the drone sound?
Hey breathwood! When ‘blowing’ the drone, are your jaws like ‘tensioned’ or are they totally relaxed and not nothing each other?
There's enough muscle tone to hold my jaw in place but hopefully not creating extra tension.
I practised for rwo hiurs laar night and got my drone happening for the veey first rime. Im having a lot of difficukty qith breathing through my nose while maintabing any type of rhythm.

Pretty basic, defs not as good as the brothers back home in Aus.....they kill it!
I will never pretend to be as good as the masters in Aus!
This is truly meme-worthy
Ah, cool! Wait....what do you mean, exactly? Like it should spread more...?
Never seen a sliding Dig,,, I want it..does it sound rich or farty,,, I got my drone working on breathing now..HELP!
can u come to Oregon coast?
I can!

Ok, I've found your "not circular breathing" video right now. I will take a look. Your explanations and examples are very easy to get, thanks ;)
Thanks! Where should I get a didgeridoo for a beginner?
Where do you live?
what would you recommend for a good beginners didgeridoo
I would start by putting word out to local players that you're searching for one. Where do you live? The Didgeridoo Learning Community on Facebook can help you get started.
@@Breathwood thanks 😊
Should my mouth be centered? I'm finding my mouth is angled off center. Seems to make it easier for me to make the drone sound..
Thanks.
Off-center is totally fine!
I have so dry lips. Difficult to get that buzz going. Can I use lip balm?
Yes, definitely!
Is it normal that the area of the teeth begins tickling while playing or am i the only one?
I get upper lip tingling, its releasing my nervous system when it does that. Feels good
I am interested i the course need information
Email me! dryates@gmail.com
What is the difference between a drone and a didge? THanks!
The drone is the sound a didge makes.
Breathwood ok! Lol!
Breathwood i just bought my first didge! Excited and depressed all at the same time. Haha!
Watching your video for the 3rd time!
Can I put 🐝 wax on my Meinl. That Didn’t come with it?
