I would actually do this the night before and sleep with a bonnet. It will give the hair more time to set and you’ll have the hardest part done. Just one less step (and stress) on your wedding day. Congratulations again!
I didn't do my own hair and sadly it's my biggest regret of the day. She rushed and my curls fell flat by the end of the ceremony. You know your hair best and with trial runs you'll be able to make sure you have the perfect technique and plenty of time on the big day.

Gurl flexi rods is one of the worst pains you have to be loco to sleep with that in your hair, I only lasted 4hrs with flexi rods in my hair and had a severe migrane I just had to take them out😭
If you're going for a "do it yourself" kinda wedding look just make sure you start/plan EARL-LY for any unforseen circumstances that may come up the day of!!! I decided to do my hair, makeup and put myself in my big poofy dress all by myself and I was like an hour late to my own wedding because at the very last second my dress decided it didn't want to zip up(even though I had gotten it right 2 times before that day!) I had to have like 3 other people help me try to get into that thing! And in the end I didn't get to put on any makeup or truly style my hair the way I wanted to 😔
Thats too bad it didn't go as you wanted similar thing happened to my cousin her wedding dress just wasn't cooperating. Anyway, I bet you looked amazing anyway.
You need to have better time management if you know it’s an important event. Maybe it’s my anxiety, but I would be doing my hair the at least the night before.
You were very ambious in this Caribbean heat and hunidity. I was watching and all I thought was "but it will drop with the heat and humidity" . Lovely style...
@@VivHairTherapy Absolutely. I always thought that we should consider more complex styles for special occasions not straightness- a complex braid pattern or updo. Just straight is not special occasion hair for anyone.

That's what I was thinking her hair is pretty but there's no way I would have risk that... My hair would have been shrinking and swelling within 3 hours of sweating
Your hair seems to prefer to just do no heat styles, my hair is the same way, I’ll do a heated style and my hair will fall flat but if I do a no heat style it will last for days! You’re so gorgeous, and no matter whether your hair falls flat or your makeup turns out darker than you like, you will still be the most stunning bride and your fiancé is lucky to have you! I have always loved watching your videos and I really enjoyed watching this one even if it didn’t turn out like you wanted!

Maybe it’s time to go back to product junkie mode for just until the wedding. Try every holding product you can find with only the flexi rods and see what holds up
I love the makeup look. Unless you're having a morning wedding, the deepness of that eye will be perfect. The colors made your beautiful skin look even more radiant. Your hair looked fab, too. Maybe it's the weather that causes the difficulty with the staying power of your curls. Not wanting to douse your hair in spray is a good thing. The photos were beyond lovely.
I did my own hair on my wedding day... NO REGRETS. I did plenty of trial runs and I prepared for any possible hang-ups. Give yourself plenty of time and you should be fine. No matter what you're going to be BEAUTIFUL. Congratulations to you both!
I did my own hair for my wedding day and it turned out perfectly. I practiced a few weeks in advance and it was a lifesaver. Many blessings for you and yours on your special day!
I did my own hair on my wedding day after Mum gave up on it - which is actually a pretty nice memory. I got lots of Mum-n-me time and still got the style I wanted =D Your idea about curling the day before and leaving it in overnight is brilliant! Have a very happy wedding!
Had to stop halfway because my heart hurt for you. Im a professional hair stylist and i admit that my specialty is Caucasian hair but i do have experience with all ethnicities. Problem one is that you are using the wand upside down. The ends of our hair are thinner and more damaged so they curl easier then virgin roots. That is why the tip is smaller for the harder to curl roots. Second... To color or not to color.... On your wedding day you want to look back a picks and look like you. Don't. Make a huge change just for the wedding. If you are growing out the color and hate the two tone you can either do boliage highlights or foils to break up the line and lowlight your natural threw. If you are over the bleach and want a healthy way to blend your hair and condition it too a demi permanent is the way to go. No harsh regrowth line no lifter to damage and with the right one it deeply conditions. Finally... Wedding style... Im a hairdresser.. I specialize in updous and wedding hair... So i did my own to save on time and money... Annnnd i regret my choice. Its your one and only wedding. Its a day to savor enjoy and remember. Find a person you trust that dose good work and let THEM stress over getting it perfect while you drink a glass of bubbly with your friends and family. Getting your hair done for your wedding is a time for all the girls who care about you to get together and get pampered and bond. If nothing else... Go the day before with your girls for mani/pedies and get your hair washed, conditioned and rolled in curlers you like sleeping in then take them out yourself after the make-up. Congratulations and good luck
100% agree, perfect what you want (the look is gorgeous) and teach someone you trust to do it, you can take if down ans style it the way you want in the morning! I also think a nice blend between the red and the black is a good way to go
So, I had one of my friends do my hair on my wedding day. She did a good job but i know I could have done a great job. Thing is, you know your hair. Nobody else knows your hair like you do. If you have the time to spend on your hair, you should totally do your own hair. Congrats!!
Woman, you are drop dead gorgeous. An absolute stunner. The makeup is perfection. Definitely do your curls the night before the Big Day. You're going to look incredible no matter what you do with your persnickety hair.
I did my own hair for my wedding and I don’t regret it because doing your own hair means you get unlimited hair trials before the wedding. I went through a whole bunch styles before I found one that I liked and that would hold up to the day. You should look through all of your unconventional curl videos until you find the one that you like that’s most doable and will hold up the best. The rag curl look seemed to work well, and it might give you the look you’re going for.
🇹🇹 I did my own natural hair for my wedding . I flat ironed then twisted then used the small curl rods, girl that Caribbean hot sun, I was not playing. And them curls held up.
Viv, you are so beautiful. Congratulations!! I think the curls will hold longer if you let the curling rods sit in there overnight. Maybe skip the hot curling rod and just use the flex rods while the hair is slightly damp, but I don' know how long it takes your hair to dry. Hold em in for 2 or 3 days before if you have to, you know your hair better than anyone else. All I know is that when I use some form of heat on my head, like a flat iron or hairdryer, that the curls fall out faster than when I don't. Congrats again! Don't even stress. Hair is always the most uncooperative when it knows that it's important. You're beautiful no matter what.
That sounds like a great idea, I always seem to have the best curls when i braid my hair whilst its damp and let it dry. The curls dry in that shape and retain it better
It looks beautiful, but seeing how stressed you were at the beginning of the process, I would let someone else do it. The wedding day has enough external stressors. ✨
You look like Ariel in the photos at the beach so beautiful. Congratulations on your marriage. My daughter has followed you for years, she'll be so excited for you.
Congratulations! I'm a cosmetologist have a recommendation for long-lasting professional styling. Blow out straight then Flat iron with heat protectant before wand curling. This will help your hair last longer, curl look elongated and faster wand curling. Using a little hold spray before each curl is my personal fav technique. Also Highly recommend retouching your color because its stunning and will make your curls POP. Well Wishes
Your hair looks fantastic, really lovely photos. If you are going to do your hair for your wedding day please curl/set the night before to give your hair time to set in place. Make up looked lovely too.
You should DEFINITELY have someone do your hair! Your wedding day is about you and there will be lots going on and you don't need to worry about having to do your hair. I loved how the rag curls looked.

id probably do my hair on my wedding as well tbh i don’t trust other people in my hair but definitely have a back up bc you know how our hair has a mind of it’s own at times 😂😂😂
Finally seeing how someone uses a wand on their own hair is so helpful. I have type 3 curls naturally, and only use heat seldomly. But the wand gives me vibes of what my curls would look like if it wasn't as long as it is

With natural hair I wouldn't even take the chance of someone else doing my hair if I wanted to wear my natural curls. I know them better then anyone else I would also do it myself so maybe we crazy together lol 😆
I feel you about the curl drop. I paid to get my naturally curly hair styled and they used heat curlers for the look. I don't think it lasted half an hour before LIMP and sad. You did a great job with this on the photoshoot. Awesome photos and good makeup choice.
I don't think it's crazy to do your own hair for your wedding day. Hair is what you do. As a baker, I will be baking my own wedding cake. To quote Mordin, 'someone else might have gotten it wrong'.
no I don't think it's crazy of you to do your own hair on your wedding day! I wish you'd do my hair on my wedding day I mean, are you kidding me, is there anyone, anyone out there who can do it better? I don't think so Also high-key your hair in the photos looked really great even if it wasn't what you wanted
I have that same spot out of all my hair that refuses to curl properly or at all. It sucks. Hairspray makes it worse too. What is your makeup channel? Thank you!
Definitely do a roller set if you want to go for the curls. Absolutely to the night before as well. The full curls look so good on you, and you can style them so many ways also. Always keep hair pins or Bobby pins and a headband/large hair tie (pantyhose leg 🙃) on hand as a backup option. If all else fails, a big pinned bun.
Regarding your makeup: I like your nose not the makeup line highlight nose. You did a good job on your hair but I think you shouldn't stress yourself to style it for your big day, let a stylist pamper you and do your hair for your wedding. Congrats on your wedding!
I’m not a hairdresser or anything but I kind of feel like using a straightener before the rods would make the curls look better and maybe last longer. I feel like the curling iron makes the hair look half poofy/frizzy because your hair is still pretty natural. If you’re applying heat, I feel like it should look like it. Otherwise it is pretty much a waste of time. And I’m not saying this to be rude in any way, I just see myself doing this and crying because it didn’t come out or last as long as I hoped.
I find it hilarious that you make curls that get you to squeal in delight from cotton buds but are dissatisfied with curling rod curls!

the deep breathes! I could feel your pain, that's me trying to create a hairstyle that doesn't come out how i anticipated it to. I have to re-encourage myself
id probably do my hair on my wedding as well tbh i don’t trust other people in my hair but definitely have a back up bc you know how our hair has a mind of it’s own at times 😂😂😂
& it always seems to be at the worst times too chile 🙄😂!!
Finally seeing how someone uses a wand on their own hair is so helpful. I have type 3 curls naturally, and only use heat seldomly. But the wand gives me vibes of what my curls would look like if it wasn't as long as it is
It's definitely a better idea to get your hair done the night before!
You are brave, I would be so nervous to do my hair on my wedding day. Good work and congrats!!
I'm always going to trust my sister with my hair and makeup lol. She knows me the best and it might take a long time, but it's always so much fun with a beautiful outcome
I just discovered these videos, She is so fun, upbeat and just happy. Beautiful inside and out!
I did my own hair but it was a simple straight style because it was winter and I wouldn't sweat out my style.
You look stunning! Omg that picture of you two smiling in the water, it's perfect 🥰 I had to show my husband and his mouth dropped at your pictures and he said "WOW she's beautiful 😍
i actually liked how your hair looked in those pictures. i do think you might need to do another style or technique to keep the curls during your wedding
*🎀🎈CONGRATULATIONS on your wedding Mrs Vivianna The Beautiful 🎈🎀* you deserve joy and laughter, may God cause you to have many many years of happiness together!
I did some of my bridesmaids hair, my hair, nails, and make-up for my wedding.
Were you early? How was your stress level?😂
@@ronniihoward5143 it wasn't that bad really. I was 10 mins late😂
@@hisqueenmyking4lifej4k87 😂😂😂😂
Curls or no curls your hair looked great! Those photos were popping. You and your fiancé are just “photogenic”🙂❤️
Not crazy my cousin did her own hair before her wedding. Do what you want girl!
My jaw dropped at that first picture on the beach 😭 bless you for being so positive and not letting it ruin your day💜💜 & Congratulations! 🍾👰🏾♀️💜
Congrats once more when your wedding day comes, I wish I could be there to say, "I know her", where do you know her from? "RUclips" LOL 😂
That’s be something 😂
@@reserveeuphoric2283 lol ikr
Okay your natural hair color with that makeup is bomb!
It is not crazy and you are going to slay it don't worry just trust the process
Your photos came out beautiful! But I can see how stressful this could be. Have a happy wedding and many years of bliss!
I don't think it's crazy to do your own hair for your wedding day. Hair is what you do. As a baker, I will be baking my own wedding cake. To quote Mordin, 'someone else might have gotten it wrong'.
Beautiful! Beautiful pictures! Even when your curls fell girlll... just gorgeous! Congrats on your wedding day!
no I don't think it's crazy of you to do your own hair on your wedding day! I wish you'd do my hair on my wedding day I mean, are you kidding me, is there anyone, anyone out there who can do it better?
I don't think so
Also high-key your hair in the photos looked really great even if it wasn't what you wanted
You looked lovely!!! Beautiful makeup!
I don’t even know your hair but I knew it would fall, and quickly… and a beach shoot, yeah, curls gone.
It ain’t crazy to do your own hair, I did mine AND my husbands for our wedding lmao, gotta love quarantine nuptials amirite ladies?
You're beautiful with all the hair styles, congratulations on your wedding.
Regarding your makeup: I like your nose not the makeup line highlight nose. You did a good job on your hair but I think you shouldn't stress yourself to style it for your big day, let a stylist pamper you and do your hair for your wedding. Congrats on your wedding!
That makeup looks so good!!! In general you are just soo BEAUTIFUL, Viv!!! Congratulations on getting married!
The makeup looks SUPER pretty on you!! Congrats on ur wedding 💖💕
