Times money for yoursel,and customer,its ok job like this but if its a breakdown on a production machine,just cut it out,and....impact sockets!

Thank you! I agree. I hadn't done one of these before so I wanted to try a couple things before risking damage cutting it out. The next one will definitely be quicker. I'm always working on getting more/better tools. Impact sockets are definitely on the list!
@@waggonerwelding no worries mate, been on this kinda stuff since the 80's had some hard lessons,main one being make it easy on yourself,lol deffo impact sockets,that chrome is horrible when it comes off n socket shrapnel ain't fun
@@65Lynchy yea we do a variety of work with this truck so it's definitely not set up perfect for this stuff. We just got into consistent heavy equipment work so I'm already saving for a truck with more tool box space and a crane. Thanks for your advice!

Great job and video! Larry and I said "good luck with that" in unison, haha. I knew that wasn't coming off in one piece from the start. I have dealt with a many seized bearings and that's how it usually goes. I will say no anti seize means the next ones will have the same fun😂, I always figure it will be me😁. It looks like that place is a gold mine for you guys, they are lucky to have you. Can't wait to see what's next, Keep em' coming!
Thank you! This was our first time doing one of these so I didn't want to go straight for the torch until I knew for sure how bad they were. The torch will definitely be my first choice on the next one. I usually do use antisieze but with the environment this will be in I was afraid it could do more harm then good. This place has kept us busy for a while so it's definitely been a good thing for both of us! 👍

Most of the time I put on my rosebud and heat the inner race until it's glowing almost at melting point. Then while it's glowing hit the pusher bolts or puller and if it can it will come loose. I see some people try to cool it down with water to "shock it" but that rarely helps. If it's glowing I promise it will move. Heat is the best tool in the
se situations, apply generously. Hope this helps on the next one.✌️
Thank you for the advice! I will definitely try that next time. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get it hot enough with my rosebud and no access to the center of the race. I run oxy propane and don't have a real big rosebud so that method never seems to work out for me 😂 I never liked the quenching thing much either. I can't carry enough water to get anywhere with that! 😂

I have never used propane before, just the high test stuff 😉 I know heavy repair work does need a lot more heat than preheat for welding. If you plan to do more of this kind, I would definitely invest in a good rose and extra acetylene 😉. Also, leave that red handled wood chisel in the cabinet shop. It's just gonna hurt you using it like you were, I promise. Get strikeable chisels, punches, and prybars. Also, those prybars are meant to bend so they don't snap suddenly. That's the indicator to use a different technique. I'm really not trying to be " that guy," I swear. I just really want to help. You guys seem cool, and I would love to see you do well.✌️
I originally built the rig for a variety of work. Now that we have been doing mostly heavy equipment I've realized I need a different set up for this kind of work. Plus a whole lot more knowledge/experience! We truly appreciate the advice good or bad! So thanks again for watching and being honest! 👍
