CUTTING TORCH VS 40 FOOT SHIPPING CONTAINER!!

CUTTING TORCH VS 40 FOOT SHIPPING CONTAINER!!
Nice project!
Thanks for sharing!
my 2003 5.9 has over 500k now running good
You left a gap between the tank and the frame so now your welds become stress points on the frame . Fail
Anytime im hauling weight i run 4wd so im not relying soley on my rear end on heavy hills
Hi what type of bearing is this the brand I'm guessing Rexnord Dimond but FCB or ZBR?
I'm currently at Tulsa welding school I'm trying to get into the pipeline. I noticed you were welding down hill I was taught not to. So if you could explain why you welded down hill and and how you where able to that would be awesome
Who;s the other guy that helps out on occasions?
Could have extended the original channel ,weld plus bolt , would look more proper and cleaner . Don't mean to be a critic I like your operation ,I could also be wrong.
How far do you travel for a job?
Where are your safety glasses? Where is your hearing protection? Where is your particulate mask while using cutoff disks?
I like the music welding is all about rhythm but for the ones that aren't welders would never understand just turn your sound off keep it coming they still gonna watch 😅
If there operators are anything like them knuckle head operators of mine they will see how far they can push something before it breaks. My suggestion is sandwich 1” plate in between the tubes and one on top and bottom. Leave 4 to 6 inches hanging out both sides. Add triangle bracing to each end of each plate (1”) and vertical stiff backs up the back side 1” as well. This kinda resembles what we had to do to a railroad bridge that was collapsing. It worked long enough for a new bridge to be built. This is all just my opinion but I hope you can use some of this if it helps. Love your videos 👍
Square tube is not structuraly strong for side load, use an H beam and gusset the shit out of it
IT IS EASIER TO SLIT THE BUSHING INTO EQUAL THIRDS WITH A RECIPROCATING SAW AND HIGH QUALITY BLADES AND USE A GIANT HAMMER AIR CHISEL TO PUSH OUT THE 3 PIECES,SAFER ,FASTER AND CLEANER,LESS LIKELY TO DO DAMAGE!!! JUST THINKING OUT LOUD!!!❤❤❤
Can you tell how much do you charge? Fr that rep
I think that it was necessary to first heat the metal and then fill the seam in at least two passes, a wide root and a closing facing one. The metal is very thick. You can't fill such a thickness in one pass.
God job guys, it's nice see a couple working together!
This looks like a job for @TheBadgerWelder.
Try replacing the bcm for the headlights
nice work there. A saddle and a porta power would pull that plate flush, But them forks work like a charm.
@110welding i just have the harbor freight porta power and it's not very strong. This equipment is always available at this site so I quit carrying it in the truck.
@@waggonerwelding , so i see, the second arm used was much more effective than the forks and what any porta power can do... nice videos, i am a new Sub now 🤙
@110welding yea it worked great. I was looking into getting a truck with a crane but I rarely need it out there with all the equipment around. Thanks for watching! 👍
Maybe they should pour molds of them. Lol 😜
@ShaneRogers-b1t haha right! A solid one piece one might do the trick!
QUESTION ? The uprights in the front. what if tubing large enough to saddle top n bottom at the cross members by half the width of each cross members?
@ShaneRogers-b1t I'm sure that would have been stronger. This got tore up in about 6 months. We got rid of the vertical supports and did a single really heavy round tube for the main horizontal bar. That video will be up soon.
You guys have one of the most complete setups. It’s given me some Ideas as I’m starting out a mobile welding business. I only have a Jeep and a trailer so I’m sure I’ll eventually come up to this level. Enjoy the journey and safe travels.
Thanks! Glad we can help! Best of luck to you and stay safe as well! 👍
What about solid rod ,6 to 8 inch diameter
What about solid rod ,6 to 8 inch diameter
@ShaneRogers-b1t this repair got bent also after about 6 months. So we did switch to 9 inch round 1 inch thick and went all the way through the main supports with it. New video coming soon.
@waggonerwelding and it still got bent up again?
@ShaneRogers-b1t the repair we did in this video got bent. The 9 inch round is holding up good so far though.
@waggonerwelding not trying to get too deep into your business. How much did yall charge for this job ? Also I'm really interested in doing this type of work. I was wondering where do I need to go to bid on these types of jobs?
Half inch plates as wide as the supports, placed at top n bottom of supports with 6inches of plate both sides of cinter of where cross member and supports intersect. Then one solid plate across the entire span of the outside of the bucket, covering all supports
This repair looks better than previous one welds look nice and you used lh good choice this time it should definitely hold
@METALMUNCHERS77 thank you! It worked for about 6 months of everyday use. New video on it coming soon.
Bro the welds are garbage. If you would have weld it correctly it would’ve have held looks as your polarity is wrong the welds look as they have no penetration and it should been welded all around the square tubes I saw last video where you stack plates over tube with out welding them first all that allowed for movement and therefore here is the end result. From the video the welds are terrible. I mean 😢
@METALMUNCHERS77 i agree the welds could have been better on this one. We were borrowing a suitcase welder from a friend for this job and it was not working out very well. Switched back to stick welding since for this stuff. We did that same repair with both processes and it got tore out the same way both times. The welds aren't the problem. It's not being handled properly. Which should be obvious by how bent up the steel is. We have since redesigned it to use round tubing and go through the main arms instead of welding to the inside of them. So there isn't as much pressure on those welds now. That video will be up soon showing the proper repair.
Nice setup! Thanks for the info. I run an old ‘97 GMC 3500hd with a 11’ body 3200lb crane. Crane is a very nice option to have. Have a good one.
nice to see some welders out of Arizona
Full time 4wd😂😂 …what?
@acecoors yes the front differential and hubs are always locked in on these trucks. No locking hubs or push button inside. Just a transfer case stick.
@@waggonerweldingwhich is the opposite of full time 4wd lol
@acecoors i know. It's just the way they market it I guess. I didn't mean the front wheels always had power going to them like when the transfer case is locked in. Just that the front hubs and driveshaft always spin in this truck even in 2wd. So it's still spinning/wearing all of the 4wd parts all the time.
@@waggonerweldingsome people just don’t have common sense and respond with the basic knowledge they think they know the folk with actually knowledge on how a 4 wheel drive system works understand what you were trying to explain lol
Great Job! God Bless you two and success!
@nigthfallJourney thank you! 👍
Great video! I have the exact same truck just a different welding bed. Did you remove the front tow hooks for the light bar to fit?
@miguelw2491 yes I removed the factory hooks and made brackets that bolt in their place to hold the light bar. It fits a 50" radius bar perfect.
@@waggonerwelding10 4 Appreciate ya!
That's too much stuff on that little truck
@@youcanthandlethetruth6976 more like not enough! 🤣
Nice rig. Yea it's hard to have the perfect rig when you are doing a variety of stuff. Sometimes I wish I just had a super light 3/4 ton pickup truck rig for around the city, And other times I wish I had a big rig with a 7000lb crane when working on heavy equipment. The beauty of a painted steel bed is you can add and change things around as you see fit. Your packing a lot of stuff around in that ole dodge, I love it. Looking forward to see what your company / rigs evolve to in the future.
@@506curtis i couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching! 👍
My 05 did that and it was the fuse box under the hood it was corroded underneath where it plugs in complete new fuse box they call it a tipm and it fixed my issues also if you ever have a battery charging issues i changed everything on that truck and it turned out to be the ecm was bad
@cwg1998 thanks! One of the shops I took it to said they checked the Fuse box and it was good. I'll definitely check it myself if that cause that same issue for you. I've been concerned about the ecm for sure. Did you end up replacing yours?
@ yeah batteries wouldn’t charge over 10 volts even after replacing entire charging system multiple alternators then one day truck shut off going down the road completely dead took ecm to get rebuilt and said it was shot
@@cwg1998 doesn't sound like fun! I'm definitely hoping mine doesn't go out.
@@waggonerwelding If I remember correctly its called a TIPM. Very common issue for these to have corrosion and cause many off the wall electrical issues. I have a 2016 with an amp draw somewhere and from what I found the TIPM was about 99% of the problem with others. Very common issue, you must remove the box and check the connectors from the back side. I got tired of looking and "resolved" my issue by putting a trickle charger in line with the block heater. So I at least top off the battery in cold weather and do not have starting issues.
A good welder shouldn’t never have a problem / hard time finding a way to boil water 💧 🤔🤣🤣😭
@@jasonchampion9932 i agree! A handful of options for that on the truck! 🤣
Consider a voltage sensing suitcase Feeder instead of the linclon wire Feeder you currently have. They can usually be found used at a lower price. They one I use the most is a Hobarty Hefty with a profax gun and Bernard center fire consumables. A new to you service truck/ bed with a crane would be my choice along with a Air pack welder so you can use Arc air.
We do have a few other mig machines that we switch into the truck when we need to. That little machine is nice because it only weighs about 15 lbs and has a shoulder strap on it. I've been wanting to get set up for air arc but surprisingly I don't get many calls where it's needed over the torch. I'm sure I will at some point though.
Excellent video man! Thanks Greeting from Chile!
hello , you have a very good truck !!!! very interesting video !!!
Nice setup! I like the service carts in the back seat, that's a great idea!
Thanks. It helped a lot. I don't miss the back seats at all!
pretty sweet set up! Would there be any benefit of having a longer bed Area ?
@aa999xyz i definitely think it would help. I have very little space for extra supplies or parts in the bed. A bigger work bench in the back would be nice also. I do like the shorter set up for maneuvering around smaller areas though.
Great video as always, definitely enjoy watching a learning things I did not know.
Did you disconnect the battery to the water truck before burning in the frame? Genuine question. As I understand it, welding to frames with battery connected can burn out engine computers. Great video, keep them coming!
@Jordan-ce7sf no I didn't. I rarely disconnect them and have never had a problem. Certain pieces of heavy equipment I will kill the power, but they have a switch so it's easy to be safe on the real expensive stuff. I always keep my ground right near where I'm welding so the current doesn't have far to travel. It won't travel through the whole frame. Just from ground to stinger. So just make sure no computers or anything that can get fried are between your ground connection and where you're welding. Thanks for watching! 👍
By chance did you work at ADD Off-road in Mesa, AZ some time ago ?🤔
@@sumyuzer yes we both did. Did you work there?
@@waggonerwelding No wayy ! I knew you looked familiar ! I used to work there around 2018-2019. I happened to stumble upon your videos today. Just subbed ! I did the same type of work/mobile work you have in your videos for a company here in cali. Glad to see you’re out there killing it 👍🏽
@@sumyuzer nice! Small world! Thanks for watching! 👍
Great vedio!!
Nice to find a field welding channel beyond just pipeline.
@Number18ster Glad you enjoy watching! We Love the variety of work! We would get bored with just pipeline work.
This is no good idea welding in the chase.
I agree, should have the correct fabricated frame bracket with a large bolt and spring, also welding on frames is fine as long as you only weld on the web, stay away from corners
