- An Albuquerque man is facing an embezzlement charge, accused of stealing some pricey items from Amazon's massive warehouse on the West Mesa. Video evidence in the case shows just how extensively the company tracks its items, from A to Z. Story on KRQE.com: www.krqe.com/news/crime/albuq...
I work at an Amazon Fc and it’s literally impossible to steal. How do people think they can get away with it is beyond me..
It’s easier than you think
They let you steal, over time all the items reach to a felony level, they literally wait and wait and build a strong case against you with all the evidence and charge you with a steep steep charge of theft….
Worked at Amazon it was pretty easy to steal
Also worked at an FC and can also confirm theft was rampant
I work at amazon and steal all the time. I switch out expensive items for a picture I printed of Gary Busey.
When the clients receive the package they're so thrilled to have a picture of Gary Busey they don't even remember the other items.
All he had to do was go to court and if you get a nice judge, you’ll probably get x-amount of community service and get it misdemeanor charge. But now he has chosen to be a felon.
Lmao a warrant for not appearing don’t make you a felon my boa
He’s stupid he’s lucky they didn’t arrest him and now he made it worse 😂
@@i.4693 Tell you what he won't get no job in the near future with a warrant on his name
@@i.4693 correct, but the next time police try to stop him on the warrant and he runs, most likely will pick up a few felonies then.
@@i.4693 No but a warrant for failure to appear almost guarantees when he's caught he won't get a bond. I hope he likes jail food because he could be waiting for awhile with the backed up court system 😅
Its guys like him that make honest workers all suspects
I remember loss prevention at Amazon telling us new hires that they will let you steal a few times just to build a case against you large enough for you to go to jail.
Probably a lie
Everywhere says that. It's all bull. They'll catch you immediately or not at all, usually immediately at sorting centres like this. Honestly can't make out why people would rob from work anyways it makes no sense

How can you even attempt to steal from Amazon? Their own stores have the technology to determine what you've picked up so that you don't even need to scan them before leaving the store. 🤣With that technology, Amazon would be the LAST place I'd attempt to steal from.
Well clearly he was doing it.
He's obviously not a genius
Lol you need to steal. Suck for you.
I steal from Whole Foods all the time.... Jeff Bezos can afford it.
It's that low iq. Look into it.
I hurt my wrist once working at Amazon. When I went to report it, they literally showed me video footage of three different angles of me working on the line to get the exact moment I hurt myself to make sure I wasn’t trying to finesse them out of workers comp. I learned then that they had cameras everywhere.
No one is live watching all employees at the same time. They can just pull up footage if needed. They do live watch just not all employees at the same time. They live watch mainly new hires.
They tell you when they train you that they have cameras everywhere and that every time you mess up the camera records you and you get put on a list so that the manager can see you making the mistake and show you what you did wrong.
@@anonymoushuman8443do you think it’s true, I want to see this footage
I work at Amazon and the only place people get away with stealing is shipdock. People in the trailers have no cameras on them, and the area managers don't have a clear view of the workers unless they get close. People working in the trailers can easily steal small items they can hide in their pockets (usually airpods), they can also get away with listening to music and being on their phone, some people even hit their vape or wax pen 😅. There also is no rate, you just need to clear the conveyor belt and make sure the light doesn't turn red. Because of all these factors, it's opens up the doors for other things. My coworker literally got head in the trailer, it's crazy, Amazon is pretty much like a highschool for adults lmao.
II've seen cameras inside the trailers
Of course he wasnt going to show up for court.

"Is he aware that he's being filmed?" As an Amazon employee, I'll answer this with detail. He not only knows he's being recorded, He knows there's over 100 cameras in there, he obviously knows not to steal, he knows that he can be fired for this, he knows that being fired from this LITERALLY means he can never work in an Amazon warehouse(or any other Amazon branded company)again. And yes you read that last part right, every Amazon employee in the world knows, If you get fired for stealing, you'll never be allowed to work anywhere Amazon or Amazon owned EVER again. You're completely banned from applying for life, even if you steal a phone case.
He noes that he’s being recorded but doesn’t no when a high end product doesn’t reach the customer they will look into it
You say that as Not working for amazon is a bad thing.. lol I will never work for amazon and I've never been better. Every single person that I talk to that has worked at amazon said it is one of the worst places to ever work. You are not treated as a person. Stupid long hours for shit pay. God forbid you have a family emergency, your replaceable on the DOT. Why anyone would want to work for them blows my mind.
@@bad1971nova Probably because everyone's situation is different. I work for Amazon, I don't hate it, it's the best job I've ever had and I can leave freely if there's an emergency. I get good pay though I wouldn't mind more lol plus the benefits outmatch any other employer that would usually require you work there for a full year before ever being enrolled into benefits. Amazon you just get them day 1. I've seen people say they get treated like numbers at their facility, which is sad to hear, but at my facility everyone is really chill. We all just get along even though we all don't share the same opinions, we've formed a way to come together whenever something happens in the building and it's kind of like a "family" vibe there.
Of course they didn't take him to jail and of course he didn't return when he was supposed to this is why these people are committed so many crimes
So you think for someone who doesn't have a record and committed a property crime against Amazon should remain in jail? So our tax dollars should pay to house him? Jail is punishment not rehabilitation. You're just as dumb as he is. However, at least he had a job.
He’s dumb for admitting it
They didn’t have enough evidence that’s why they wanted him to confess lol. If he kept his mouth closed he would’ve been good. Oh well 😂
They said they wouldn’t take him to jail if he confessed. And he confessed. Not the brightest bulb in the box. Technically they may not have had anything. If he didn’t confess. He should have said “I was scratchn my nuts”.

I’m not condoning his behavior. In fact , I think he is dumb because there are cameras everywhere. But I was just watching a recent story from Georgia about how an Amazon warehouse is doing NOTHING to stop car break ins in their employee parking. All they tell their employees is to not leave valuables inside. No security or check in procedure. Amazon just looks after itself.

Well your car is not their property so it's none of their concern that's pretty common for any and all businesses. However they legally have to show you the cameras if they have them out there especially if the police are already involved
@cory vallad

It amazon breaking into their employees cars while they work 😂😂😂
I am honestly not surprised at all. Amazon goes through so many employees every day that they are running out of quality employees and hiring anyone these days. They offer them large bonuses to get hired and then set unrealistic picking rates and fire them. Some of them only stay long enough to get the bonus.
Getting hired: "There are cameras, and electronic package monitoring at every step of the process."

When I worked at Amazon they accused me of hiding shit in the "seams of my pants" & wanted me to strip them off in a private room so they could get a second look. Told the security guy the only way I'm taking my pants off is so they can "eat my ass" dude got red faced an told me I was free to go 😅🤣
The one I work at when you have to go to the second check they don’t make you empty you as long as your stuff is in your jacket. They just make you take all metal off.
We got metal detectors but my Amazon never use them

It just happens humans ain't perfect we tend to have impulses just like other living creatures do.
Three funny cases from my half a year of working in amazon:
1, Some items are destined to be destroyed, due to damages ect... two guys got a microwave to dispatch to other facility for destruction, before doing so, they filled it with phones and planned to take it out once it left to other facility
2, One girl was working at food department, out of nowhere, she decided to drink an entire bottle of expensive liquour. Perfect crime if you ask me.
3, One girl was caught stealing a coat, the coat however wasnt the only thing...she filled with iphones saying "she didnt knew iphones were inside, only wanted the coat"

Failure to appear is extremely common. At times it results from the offense causing turmoil in the home. If you lose your job and have to move getting your mail re routed isn't always straight forward, the USPS isn't always the poster child of reliability. Unless you are a constant offenderyou have no idea when the summons will show up in your mailbox. If you don't move and it never arrives you tell yourself they must have not filed it. I've seen it happen, a good friend was arrested, charged, arraigned and released. He skipped town and didn't realize for 11 years that shortly after his release the charges were dropped and never refiled.
Many failure to appear cases are resolved when a curious defendant contacts the police department to find out what is going on because they didn't receive a summons. As I mentioned the USPS isn't always reliable. But the courts put the onus on the accused to know when their hearing is, even if they or their chosen delivery system fails to notify the accused. The system can and does fail, but when the failure only has repercussions for the accused society can blame the accused with ignorant bliss. If a summons is issued today to appear in 2 weeks and the accused never received it and waits 3 weeks to contact the issuing agency the accused has missed their appearance and will very likely still be charged with failure to appear, even though they did put forth effort to find their appearance date.
I'm not saying this is what happened here but throwing out some options.
Some times the accused decided the second they were told a summons will be issued that they aren't answering it. There's probably as many unique reasons(good, bad, or otherwise) for failure to appear as there are people who fail to appear.
@@truracer20 Well you would think people would understand that with no job moving soon is often the only option.

Well someone like you would follow bad people too. Remember people are supposed to be different so why you feel ok telling others what to do/ not do.
The cop had to ask "does he know he's being filmed" LOL. That's because the cop must be thinking this guy is seriously stupid to do this on camera.
Happens at the DG warehouse all the time. And all they do is fire them and walk them out of the facility.
And he has a new Apple Watch which he never confessed to stealing. That’s a big win in his mind.
If you steal from a workplace, there’s a really, really high chance they’ll find out somehow. It’s now worth it lol. The way logistics and all are set up. It doesn’t even make sense to do it.
Exactly, the logistics part of it alone makes no sense to steal unless you have the ability to cover your track's in some type of leadership role
@@ThemKND Dude it’s a lot easier than you think. In some facilities they have close to 100 aisles with bins stacked 30ft high, anyone driving through in their order picker has access to everything, and no cameras inside the aisles.
That man is part of the problem in this country. Maybe you can get away with it in your country but not here and not Amazon.
I remember when Amazon thought I was stealing, still don’t know how they thought I did to this day because I didn’t . Anyways they have weight sensors for their items so if the weight is off they catch you. That’s one of their most effective ways.
Theft is the reason I stopped ordering from Amazon. It got bad over in Charlotte. It’s better now(as far as I can tell) but for a while there there’s was a 50/50 chance you wouldn’t get your package. The drivers were stealing stuff super easy. They would keep packages on the truck and mark them as not being on the truck and then they’d drop it off at their own house if it’s along their route or put them in their car when they returned to the warehouse. But they couldn’t see what was in them so they just had to hope whatever they stole was something good.
@@haloskycrash well a driver still has to take it there and since the drivers are the ones stealing packages, that doesn’t really do any good.
@@haloskycrash It still happens with the locker, we have one at my apartments and every now and then it will say delivered but I never receive the passcode, usually I get both emails immediately after delivery.
I was a janitor at Amazon I couldn't do it. Too dystopian.
And that’s what you get for not taking him to jail immediately. When did we stop punishing criminals?
And in Las Vegas the mayor just stole over 600k... and why isn't the news speaking about that??
Cause he knows people who knows people. This guy is a picker who pickets.😙
Is he white?
@@HailMary888 I think he's posting about the city manager, not the mayor. Or was it the cm that killed a guy?? I'm losing track, but it has DE NADA to do with this case.
What are you talking about??
He's a genius.
F yo grandma man
When you start putting items in your pockets and it's so obvious you are a thief.
Yeah he could of done it better. Like worn a sweater with those kangaroo pockets in front. The camera wouldn't of gotten him putting it there at that angle we seen. He made it so obvious 🙄
And then ask if he's going to jail. Who does that? 34 and clueless about life.
I once got an empty box from Amazon. Reported it, got sent replacement, often wondering where it went missing. Box was double taped !! Do Amazon trucks have cameras ??
He makes over 20 an hour and he is stealing stuff. The Democrat's made it so hard to survive
They only make $14
Republicans keep cutting regulations and union protections.... Maybe your hometown can end up like East Palestine 👍
F yo grandma man
@@riaa8689 false they make $16 up to $18 on the night shift which he was on.
We all know good and wrong I ask why for some people is hard to be good when been good all ways have the best rewards!!
F yo grandma man
Because that is very untrue. Good allows for more options but that is not how and why people get rewards. In a math based system the rewards are linked to the outcomes which are not liked to doing right or wrong. Are you paid to do right or are you paid to create, produce, or do something someone else needs done? What does right or wrong have to do with rewards when they are not a direct result of them?
So that’s where my air pods went!
This is why you don’t let them walk. Always arrest them because they’ll never show up to court. Everyone’s too soft and compassionate.
i know some fedex contractors purposely put my items in a another place other than my place, which is the delivery location, and make it as delivered but then go back and pick it up for themselves later. Fedex contractors steal stuff when delivering and you can't catch them, unlike amazon where it's camera everywhere
Yeah my package was delivered by Amazon and a Pic for proof was on the notice,my package wasn't there. However after reviewing my camera the wind had blown it off the porch.
Maybe don’t be lazy and just go buy whatever you ordered lol
Just a matter of time...the computer algorithm will identify those individuals as high loss factors and they'll be caught through their own greed.
I'm so SICK of the 13%.
