    Got my Airsense 10 this past Friday. I was a mild case getting 12 events per hour. I am down to 1-2 per hour now. So, for me, this is a big difference. The medical supply rep set mine up and I tried multiple mask types to see what I liked. I went with the F30 model for the mask. The nasal pillows are comfortable with this mask and I have a tendency to breathe out of my mouth (trying to get better about this) so having the mask cover my mouth helps keep my throat from hurting. I have the humidity level set to 2. That seems to be a good balance for me. The pressure setting is 5-15 on the device. Breathe in through nose and out. At first, the pressure when exhaling was a bit strong, but after the 3rd night I got use to it. I also use the app to read data and it works great. The humidifier for me is filled to max. I clean it with vinegary and warm water per the instructions. The mask and tubing I use warm water with Dawn soap. This seems to work well. I hope my post helped some folks.

      Let me just provide you with an update. I began my CPAP Machine treatment in October of last year and I can say honestly that the first few weeks were absolute torture and hell to go through. However, with lots of practice and determination I was able to get through it and get the perfect mask fit for me and get adjusted to have a good night sleep each night. I can tell you or anyone else that is going through this, it is hard to start but it is definitely worth it. My sleep scores on the MyAir App have been great each night and I feel so much better now. I can go to work and not feel tired, I sleep and no more snoring and most importantly it feels better knowing that I’m actually breathing better and getting a good night sleep. So to anyone out there struggling with whether to do CPAP or not please give it a chance and try it and most importantly DON’T GIVE UP!!! Sleep Well My Friends!!

I hope the powers that be lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 or RUclips doesn't ban me from this but look into an FDA approved sleep apnea treatment called Night Lase they say it can cure sleep apnea up to 90% it's been around for like 5 year's most people who get it done say that when they get a sleep study done no episodes or attacks while there sleeping. The main reason why I looked into it was because even though the majority of people who suffer from sleep apnea are overweight it is not all there's slim people who suffer from it even little kids so I said there has to be more to this so according to most scientists and doctors sleep apnea is caused because certain people over grow a tissue in the back of there throat whether due to genetics or whatever the reason and when that overgrows it collapses while you sleep because it's too big and heavy inside your throat and that stops the flow of oxygen into the body so what Night Lase does is it disintegrates the unwanted skin that is not part of the back of your throat with the laser and leaves it the way GOD made it to be yes this condition or disease whatever people want to call it is very odd like I said there's people who are way overweight and do not have it just like there's skinny people who do I don't get it but it is what it is I'm going to try the machine and if after 3 months I can't get use to it I'm trying Night Lase.

    I am 71 years old and have been using a CPAP machine for over 20 years. Currently I use the RESMED air sense 10 and I have used this for over 5 or 6 years. Until a month ago I was using a full face mask and I was having 15 to 20 events per hour.
    Last month I came across a vlog called Why we breathe by Patrick McKeown. He basically says that we should breathe through our noses. The reason is that this filters the air, pressurises it, heats it and moisturises it. He says that you should start your day with breathing exercises, Breathe in for 5 seconds, hold for 5, exhale for 5 and hold for 5 annd do this for 10 minutes. He suggested that when you sleep you should tape your mouth shut.
    I did this and my AHI events went from 15 to 6 or almost 150 percent reduction. I was discussing this with my brother who also uses the same machine as me but uses a nasal mask. He told me that his events per hour were 2 or 3 maximum.
    Based on this I changed to a nasal mask and the outcome was spectacular. My events went to less than 1 an hour. I still use the tape, a medical tape to reduce any allergic reaction. Sometimes when I wake up I think I have fallen asleep and forgotten to put on the nasal mask but then touch around my nose and find I have it on. This is how comfortable it is. My dreaming has exploded because I very rarely dreamt when I used the Full face mask, but now it is a fairly common event. I hope this helps people with sleep apnoea.

The problem is I have condensation in my mask in the morning and I have the feeling the air coming to my mouth is colder then the air I breath in the room without my mask. Is that normal? I tried 2 different tubing with same result. Is that normal to have condensation in my situation and that the air seem colder then the air I breath in the room? If that part of the machine is defective, would the machine give me some sort of error message?

      @ResMedAmericas  3 года назад +3

      Hi TJ, When you're not using your machine, your heater plate should be cool to the touch. However, once you start therapy, it should begin to gradually get warmer based on your ramp time and humidity setting. You may even see a red wavy icon on your machine's display, letting you know the humidifier is warming. If this does not happen or if your plate is still cold about an hour or more during a CPAP therapy session, please check that your humidity setting is above zero. If so, please contact your DME supplier for a full evaluation and further assistance if necessary. Thank you for reaching out to us, ResMed Customer Care

When there’s condensation in the tubing, I just disconnect the tubing from the mask/nasal pillow tubing and empty the collected water into the trash can or into a cup or something. I just drain it out. Much quieter afterwards.

      @@Denisejohn65NailEd I hope you have found a way to get your mask fitting comfortably. Here are a few tips, that I have learned after using a CPAP for 12 years. Your mouth dries out because your mouth is open and you are exhaling through your mouth. Talk to your medical device provider about a chin strap. Here is a trick that I was taught to get your mask to fit properly. Lean your head back and put your mask on, tighten your straps until they just barely hold the mask on your face. Turn on the CPAP, you should hear air escaping around the edge of the mask. Determine where the mask is leaking and tighten that strap first until the sound stops, then slowly tighten each remaining strap. That should make it secure without being too tight. Good luck.

      Cleaning your machine itself is fairly simple. Just a regular wipe down of the exterior with a dry cloth is all that's needed. Your water tub and tubing should be washed weekly with warm water and mild detergent, rinsed off, then left to air dry away from direct sunlight or heat. The recommended care and cleaning instructions can be found in the user guide for each of our products and we do provide a link to those documents on the product page of our website for each of our products. Thank you.

      Hello Mary, To replace your filter, simply open the air filter cover on the side of your machine (opposite side from your humidifier) and remove the old air filter. Place a new filter into the cover and close it. As for which side of the air filter should be facing out, there is no harm in placing your filter in one direction or another, but we've found it more efficient to place the filter in with the fuzzy side facing the door (out) so the filter can catch any dust particles coming in from the environment. Your machine's user guide also provides written and visual instructions for how to use your air filters. Thank you!

      Yes. Within the United States at least, PAP therapy devices are considered a Class II Medical Device and as such they do require a prescription for purchase and use. Also, the air pressure setting on your machine is something that's set by the medical equipment supplier based on the prescribed settings that were set by your doctor. To change the pressure range that's been set up for you, you'll need to discuss this with your doctor. They may be able to change the settings themselves or may guide you back to your supplier to have these changes made for you.

    Second night of therapy and STILL can’t get a report. It shows syncing on the app but no data transfer; however, the machine itself shows data. The website dashboard has no data either. And there are no help options other than making sure it’s plugged in, off airplane mode and has bars. Check on all and still no data transfer. No wonder it only had 3 stars on App Store. I just need my data.

      Hi Adam, The AirSense 10 does require a prescription to buy and use it. It also doesn't have the ability to automatically determine which pressure you need. This will be part of the prescription and will be set by the medical equipment supplier who provides the machine to you. If you believe you may have sleep apnea or may need PAP therapy, please contact your doctor or healthcare provider and they can help you start the process.

      After waking up and completing your CPAP therapy for the night, we'd suggest dumping the water chamber, then rinse your chamber and mask cushion or pillows and set them out to dry away from direct sunlight. Weekly, you'll also want to follow the cleaning instructions listed in each user guide for your mask and machine to maintain freshness and ensure they last throughout their recommended life cycle.
      As for storage recommendations, that may be entirely up to you but your doctor may be able to provide some suggestions based on your personal needs. Thanks for asking!

      @ResMedAmericas  4 года назад

      Hi David,
      Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. There are a number of things that can cause issues with noise in your device. If the noise seems to be coming from the machine itself, based on the description, as a first step, try removing the water tub and then fully and firmly putting back in until you hear a soft "click" letting you know it's securely in place. We'd recommend doing the same with your tubing. If the noise continues with your water tub and your tubing securely in place, we'd recommend contacting your medical equipment provider for further inspection and a repair or warranty replacement, as appropriate. As a reminder, our manufacturer's limited warranty is listed at the back of your AirSense 10 User Guide. Your provider can answer any questions you might have about the warranty and can assist you, should you need to invoke it.
      Thanks,

      There are a number of things that can cause your device to make noise. If the ramp up feature is enabled, this may explain why your machine will seem quieter or softer at the beginning and with the Smart Start feature, this may also explain the sudden shut off when you remove your mask. If you have any concerns about the noises your machine is making, we'd recommend contacting the person or company who provided your machine to you for further assistance, as needed.

      It can be very difficult to adjust to PAP therapy, especially in the first few weeks. Please reach out to your doctor or home medical equipment supplier who prescribed or provided your device as they'd be the best person to help you with your concerns. In the meantime, we hope you'll find this article helpful as you get used to your therapy: bit.ly/41SzcXe
      In the meantime, please do not use flavored water or any other additives in your water tub, as doing so could negatively affect the durability of the machine and could cause damage to other components. If you wish to use aroma- or other therapy, you'll need to set this up externally and separate from your machine and at least six inches away from the air intake where the filter goes. Nothing should be placed inside the machine, water tub or other components other than what is officially recommended. Failure to follow recommendations listed in your user guide could also void the warranty, found near the end of your product's user guide.

Its blowing straight air to my brain. Gave me a headache I had to tske it off. The air did skip off and on . When I took it off for like a min to eat something water kept coming out of it spraying everywhere. I put it back on and then again felt like I was suffocating. After I took it off I slept so much better but woke up with a headache runny nose I feel like I have a sinus infection now and I haven't been sick in over 2 years. Hi Rosaura! As stated in our clinical and user guides, optimal humidifier performance requires distilled water. That’s because most or all of its minerals have been removed, preventing mineral buildup in the humidifier tub.
      Tap or bottled water may also be used in situations where distilled water is not reasonably available. While it won't harm the machine or pose a risk to your health, it will require more rigorous cleaning of your water tub to prevent excess mineral buildup. Thanks for asking!

      @sinacc Wince boiling water doesn’t remove minerals. you’ve commented the same thing several times but it’s not as accurate as you’re suggesting.

    Can you use without the humidifier?

      Yes! The AirSense 10 CPAP machine will work without water in the tub but you’ll need to turn humidification off in the My Options menu. If you don’t want to use the humidifier, you’ll need to either insert your empty tub or a side cover into the machine. Your medical equipment supplier can share more information with you on this, should you decide to go this route.

      @@ResMedAmericas So you are saying if not wanting to use humidifier, after turning it off in options, insert your tub OR a "side cover"? I've seen advice that says you have to do both. What is a side cover?
