      Once you’re up on the plateau there isn’t that much ascent/descent, which makes it a lot easier

      Its a fairly long one, and the walk back to the car wasn’t the most exciting, but I’m sure if you went back over some of the hills it could be slightly better! Hope you enjoy it when you go!

    Brilliant Alistair. Loving the footage. I feel like I'm following you both around the hills (a week later) after viewing your vids in advance. I'm around the 30 mark also, so I do enjoy the watching your days on the hills, to give confidence we can manage them also. I dont have the luxury of a Douglas to help lead the way, but I have a great companion in my 14 year old son, who's also loving the footage. Keep it up guys 👍

      It seemed strange to do the Glas Maol 4 on their own and then come back for Tom Buidhe and Tolmount, but after getting to Glas Maol with one left to do I was feeling a bit burst!

    Great job Alistair, really enjoyed this video, looks a great circuit that I have to try this year, but it’s much longer than what I’ve tried so far. Will keep your inspirational video in mind if I get to it. Keep up the great and down to earth content, could only be better if the videos are longer 😀

      Thanks Glen, glad people are enjoying the videos. We just try to be ourselves and have a laugh and joke as we go along.
      There is a fair bit of distance but the lack of ascent in between makes it much more manageable. Maybe worth considering the first 4 as a loop and leave the last 2 for another trip?

    • @HighlandHikers
      @HighlandHikers  3 года назад

      It really is a different landscape from the West. I’m keen to do more to see the variety of the Cairngorms. Do you plan on doing the 6 or all 9 on your trip?

      www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=106333
      I would say that it might be better to head to Tolmount after Carn An Tuirc instead of what I did. Might save some time and ascent.

    Cairngorms, Full of rolling hills, not very dramatic, never been a fan. And of course expect wind.......lots of it, highest recorded wind speed in Scotland around this god forsaken featureless landscape.

    • @HighlandHikers
      @HighlandHikers  3 года назад +1

      The landscape is certainly very different to the Munros in the west coast. I’m looking forward to hiking a few more in the Cairngorms to see the difference between them and the ones featured in this video.
