when a game's destruction system provides tactical deforestation you know you're in for a good one 🤣🤣
Kind of a must in a game like this, do love the specific off map support for that
They need to make WORLD IN CONFLICT 2 ASAP. I miss this game it was so beautiful and fun for an RTS for it's time.
google massgate, there is a small but active community that has their own servers. Always looking for returning players!
I'm glad you did a video on this game. WIC is one of my favorite RTS game of all time.
Not a problem, love the game
I just can't get into RTS games anymore, as someone who is near 50 years old now, I just don't have the brain power to play strategy games as it is. RTS and TBS are just to much for me. But WiC I LOVED. I played so much of it with friends of mine, it was just an absolute blast to play online. And when it came out, the game's graphics just blew everyone away, and if I remember correctly, it was one of the first big games to take advantage of DX10 no? It was great stuff.
@@LordLOC google massgate, there is a small but active community that has their own servers. Always looking for returning players!
WiC still remains as one of my favorite games ever. So great.

I remember the final battle. SPOILER: For anyone who hasn't completed the campaign.
The last battle in Seattle was great. You given almost the complete toy box of support. I remember barely any buildings were still standing. It's a hard battle still despite the support but when the credits role and you get Tears for Fears 'Everybody wants to rule the world'. One of my most memorable endings for a game!
1:30
Mmmm, donut
Pretty big donut
Game is 16 years old and still has better graphics and destruction than most modern titles
Indeed
WIC, what an absolute classic for any C&C Generals fan ! Great video as usual
Also, I don't know if you noticed but cars can also be crushed and only the ran over part of it will be flattened; it is partially dynamic as they can be completely brought down to grass-level if enough armoured vehicles passed all over it.
Thanks! Don't recall the crushed cars, but you can't miss the fences getting flattened. Funnily those can get crushed by infantry passing through as well
@@RandomMadnessChannel I've never saw this either, looks like many details in this game went unoticed ! Defenitly a game worth reinstalling for the old time's sake
Had a lot of fun times playing this game in childhood
Still holds up beautifully
Awesome video. I loved this game so much as a kid that I decided to speedrun it :D
Holds up great. Awesome destruction sfx and sound design
Thanks, yeah it held up beautifully
Hell yeah, been waiting for this one!
It's a classic. Cheers man
So beyond glad I found this channel. I thought I was the only one who paid a significant amount of attention to damage mechanics in games from environment to anatomy and beyond I hate games that don’t deliver those details because Arcady games get on my nerves. I like realism and detail. Probably my adhd causing me to get bored of games that don’t have depth in every moment. And definitely the fact I love violence. Guilty pleasure
Thanks man, lots more to come. Though you might have to manually check the channel every so often, there's been some censorship problems recently
@@RandomMadnessChannel I’ve noticed you’ve been posting a whole lot and I have been catching up. I pretty much comb through your channel whenever I get the time. I love discovering new shit to check out too man. Keep it comin!
I remember adds for this game
I always wanted to know what game it was, i was like, 9 or 10 and saw adds about this war game but i didn't remember the game
Now seeing this video i know what game it was
I have a amazing suggestion
The game called "sleeping dogs"
Try playing it, the blood and gore looks amazing
First of all after a battle all of the bodies stay, second the bodies get cowered in blood mid-fights wether you punch them or shoot/slice them (the effect is mostly blood splattered on model but it looks extremely good in my opinion)
Then you also have characters who if burned alive will have gruesome burned skin and mostly pretty long animation and post death tingling
Then the game's combat is just glorious
The gunplay isnt as realistic as gta4 or 5, but they decided to make it not realistic but fun instead
And most of the shootouts are glorious especially if you know how to do stuff
(The game even highlights explosives when u aim)
And the coolest feature: kills using stuff around you
It goes from simple stuff like yeet a character into aquarium or boxes with stuff to shoving a guy inside a furnace/working fan or alot more brutal ones
And combat that reminds of batman but bloody
The game is really really really brutal for it's time, and it came out almost same year as gta4, tottaly recommend checking out
Oh and also u dont have generic blood puffs or cheap blood effects, the blood looks juicy when shooting, and when u shoot the head u can even see bits of brains and flesh
And just in case: almost all missions are fun to do so u wont be bored
Hey, appreciate the write up. I did try the demo around the release and honestly didn't like it very much. Not my thing personally
@@RandomMadnessChannel demo?
Well uh it's probably that you havent seen the game in it's glory
Cuz it progresses from just gang fist fights into john wick shootouts in big places
Well its sad, cuz i hoped ur review would make more ppl interested but ok, ur choice
@@RandomMadnessChannel yo i found why i told you about the game
ruclips.net/user/shortsTe1lqMKhaHU?feature=share
Brutal enviroment kills (reminds of punisher except no interrogations)
that ending screen is glorious
So grateful for the simple HUD disable key
EA should make one of their studios make a modern combat strategy game with the frostbite engine
Solid review my man!
Thanks man
You started focusing on destruction and not just gore aspects of a game? Honestly big W, as nothing is as satisfying as SOLID gore effects along with SOLID destruction mechanics. Bad company 2 was a blast back in the day because of it, and more games adapted this over time. This RTS, I still play to this day because there aren't really many games that offered the mechanics this one did, along with being able to level a city if you needed! (Or just wanted to see what would happen)
Yep, been doing destruction stuff for a while, it's all well within the theme of response. With the censorship issues on the platform I'll probably be putting more emphasis on the destruction stuff. Here's the playlist:

Hey Valentin, try checking out the gore in Days Gone, it has pretty good gore especially when 'Explosive Gore' mod is installed.
I've seen some videos, I'll pass on that game
The smoke particles shown at 6:22 look like they’re affected by physics, which is pretty impressive for a game made in 2007
I see what you mean, not entirely sure if that's particles responding to physics, but that does look real cool
@@RandomMadnessChannel they could have some random direction offset but either way it makes the particles look alive in a sense
I am Not 100% Sure, but i Thing WiC with DX10 has some effects with smoke which interact with ground, vehicels and buildings?
I think about redownloading this game and this video shows up lol.
Should review call to arms the destruction is pretty cool
cool
Im gonna do good tomorrow
Bye mom, i love you
This game could get a remaster I played it in 2015 and it still looked awesome and had a very good single-player campaign.
Sound effects explosions everything was cool.
We are in 2023 and have 16+core CPUs and much stronger hardware many games might have regressed in physics and destruction very few things are cool.
Even COH 1 from 2006 had many things going for it even "little stuff" like soldiers doing hand signals in combat and back then hardware was extremely limited.
Far cry 2 from 2008 enemies could pick up injured soldiers and sometimes even flee the battle or they could become scared and fail to move from their location and start doing prep talk to themselves for a few minutes and you can hear them talk...
Fire spread responded to wind and weather type and surface......
Extremely few games in 2020+ has this"little thing" going for them which could improve immersion despite having much stronger hardware.
That's what this channel is mostly about, talking about that kind of mechanics that absolutely do make a massive difference. And yeah, at around 2006-2008 with some of the big releases it did feel like gaming is going more towards interactivity in that direction, which sadly didn't happen
no hope mod for this game was a bliss
I got it for free very long ago...maybe will try it out. Nice vid 👍
Play it! The game is absolute blast with a really fun Red Dawn story
man i wish there was permanent wrecks in this game. That would make it a masterpiece
It still is a masterpiece, but yeah, some form of permanent wrecks is very much needed. Better heli crashes too
Does the multiplayer still work? Looks awsome
google massgate, there is a small but active community that has their own servers
Honestly man, the deal breaker to me is the helicopter crashes. There isn't a feeling quite as awesome as seeing a helicopter crash to the ground and sink into the earth while exploding lol.
I think it's because of the frame rate he has the game running at. I imagine locking it to 30 or 60 FPS fixes the issue. Most games from that era don't have properly functioning physics when they go above that frame rate.
I recall the heli crashes always being weird, I don't think it's FPS related
Any idea how to fix the memory error?
PCGamingWiki has the fix to all the common issues
Went to install WiC after watching this video but the game just refuses to launch on my PC :/ tried the multicore fix too. How did you get it up and running?
Only the multicore fix
@@RandomMadnessChannel huh, might be a GOG vs Ubisoft Connect thing. Will get it on GOG and try it again then
IIRC I have the Ubisoft one actually
better than coh3
goyim
this game reminds me of men of war, but the destruction is even better than the newer game. if only it carried over
Well the experience is very different from Men of War. That one is great too
in my opinion this game wasn't worth to make video about it
