Ugandans if you want your economy to grow you need to be able to share ideas and collaborate to build wealth. This is why your leaders keep everything to themselves the same way you don't want this man to share his knowledge.

    1. *Why don't you have vegetable-creepers on overhead 7ft tall trellis? around your chicken shed* You can grow Beans, cucumber, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, etc This will produce vegetables and the leaves will be eaten by the chicken. *This will bring down you feed cost and make the hens healthy.*
    2. *You have 400 acres you should make a pond for ducks* at least 50m to 100m in length. Since labour is cheap this should not be a problem... *Ducks lay more regularly and for longer period than hens*
    3. *All solar power plants do not require BATTERIEIS* Without batteries the cost is half but after sunset there will be no electricity... this should be ok for certain section of the areas.
    4. With the excavated mud from the pond area you can build a mud-house.
    5. All the toilets should be connected to a separate biogas generating unit... nothing should get wasted...
    6. In the pond for the ducks you can also have fish... as long as the depth is around 7mtrs in atleast 1 area the fishes should be able to breed. *You should get fishes that breed in the pond and avoid those which doesnt breed in the pond*

I think u are amazing!!!! All though I wonder if u can cut ur feed bill in half by fermenting it. Thats what I do. I soak the feed a few days and let it ferment . it turns into a stinky soup like stuff . but my chickens pigs and dogs love it . plus the probiotics are good for their digestive system. Also can't u grow your own corn and grind it . I do this and dry it and grind it as I go . I live in alaska it's very cold here so once a week a cook up a huge pot of beans and peas that I grew add powdered milk oats and garlic powder to it. I serve as treat to them on the side. I pay very little in return and get eggs all year around. I also keep them in my shed that is heated by wood fire and give them light 24 hours. Here I can sell them for $10 USD a dozen .😉 I'm a small farmer but want to go big like u one day. You are so smart and love all your videos.😘😘😘😘😘😘😘 I did some researching and found that protein helps increase egg laying. So if you think about it bone broth has lots of protein. Why not cook up huge pots of bone broth and add ur garlic for immune health and wait for it to turn into a gel then feed them.
Daniel u are hard working and smart. I believe u will get this and make ur dream come true.
    God bless u .

@@FarmUp fermentation is actually a process that is used to store fodder/silage. It's how my family stores a years harvest. It would save you a lot of time and allow you to store fodder for months at a time when you are able to grow large amounts. There's a channel called 10th generation dairyman that shows how we store tons of silage for feeding dairy cows and you could learn how to adapt it to your feed. It's pretty much just storing it so that air can't get to it.
I also think that you would find videos on how people grow micro greens for making salads here in the states. It's basically the same thing you're doing but on a larger scale for sale. It can easily be done inside with minimal LED lights too and I think it would be a great help to what you are trying to do.
Anyway keep up the good work and good luck.

Hi Doctor just to take you back a bit. Sometime ago you told us you were thinking of leaving medicine to spend more time on the farm. You invited comments.
This is my two pence. As an Afrcan (I am from Biafra) we are grossly under doctored. Its true you love your farm, but your service as a midical doctor far far out weights your service as a pultory farmer. We need more of you, I mean more people in that profession. Health service is one crucial area we must achieve self reliance asap. You see they want to come and use our people (Africans ) as their guinea pigs to test all kinds of vacines and drugs. As a compromise if you can get two people through medical school, (pay there fees etc) then you can retire to your farm. Or wait till you are about 40 years before you retire. God bless you.

Hi Opara, yes I advised Dr Daniel the same , to keep his position as a doctor. There are not many of us as doctor, Africans are getting mistreatment because we are the minority in this career plus our Africans scientist are not considerate. Their findings are not valued because Who takes control of all the medicines. Nothing good should comes from African unless is from who. Above all there is time for everything, this WHo will be power less. Stay bless.

Well done, I breed pure breeds in the Uk and can make much more from selling PureBreed Fertile Hatching Egg for people wanting to hatch their own hens for the backyard or wanting to add new breeds to their flock. Don't know how purebred poultry sell in Uganda. Would love to chat one time and show you how I raise my hens In chicken tractors out on pasture grass. Cool Video & well Done...!

The part of ordering chicks when the others are getting old!! Isn't it possible that you leave some of their eggs until they hatch and the chicks grow to a point where they can lay eggs as well?
