- hey guys as far as I can tell no one on RUclips has done a comparison between the shadow systems mr920 and the warrior poet pistol Gen 2 based off the mr920 so I just wanted to show the difference between the two firearms just in case anyone wanted to know! please subscribe for more great videos and gun reviews!!!
Finally somebody did a comparison video! Good job on the video and explaining the differences between the two 👍🏾
I sold all of my Glocks years ago and went with Sigs and CZs. Recently I purchased the MR920 combat and installed Swampfox Liberty and I'm in love! In my honest opinion ALL firearms needs a break in period to make it reliable. I ee people on RUclips changing everything and not even let it go through a break in. Thanks for the comparison brother 👍🏻
Same
Been looking for a warpoet model for a while finally got one today. Super happy with it. But just wanted to say keep it up man I watch guntubers all the time and for someone just starting out I think you did really well hit key points and well spoken man. Keep up the good work I subbed
Thank for the review. I watched a few on this gun. You helped me make up my mind. On getting the MR920 War Poet
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Got my cr920 today went through 230ish rounds with 0 failures. mr920 will be my next one Love it.
My MR920 has the standard slide lock. I prefer this as I ride very high up on my offhand and usually engage the slide lock so last shots won’t hold open. I wanted the War Poet but couldn’t ever find them in stock. With that said, I love my MR920 combat. I will be getting a war poet with the holosun and then I’ll get the DR920. Slowly selling off my glocks.
I had one FTF in my 200 round breakin. What I noticed was, the tolerances of the barrel, barrel lock up and the spring are all very tight. After 850 rounds, the trigger is butter. I too think it shoots flatter and faster than my glocks. It’s amazing how smooth for how light it is, and it’s amazing how much extra control you get from the “gas pedals” that further improves the flatter shooting. The grip angle alone is what sold me from day one. Even my father who is a die hard Glock 17 fan and can’t stand the 19 sized guns wants one after shooting mine.
Has he got one? They make a MR920L now which is the 19 frame with the 17 slide, he may like that!
I want one of the War poet ones badly but want to sell something first.
What's the price difference ? Is the WP value wise worth it. I want to buy one of them next. This would be the final question. Thanks for the review.
Yeah I love my MR920 elite so much that I bought the MR920L elite for duty carry and yes both guns had the same malfunctions for there first mags which had trouble feeding the first 4rds but after that there wasn't anymore malfunctions and the mr920 has over 2k rounds and the mr920L is around the 600 mark. The best glock you can get gucci'd out under $1,000, that's not including the light or optic🤙
My War Poet MR920 arrived today. It came with the red dot already installed. According to my digital kitchen scales, it weighs 22.0 ounces with the red dot and an empty 15 round magazine. The Holosun 507C v2 has an advertised weight of 1.5 ounces. Subtracting the weight of the red dot brings the weight of the War Poet MR920 with an empty magazine to 20.5 ounces.
appreciate the video, been debating on which one or a new pistol in general and the MR920 is leading the way.
God that warpoet is gorgeous! I have the standard mr920 combat with a 507c and tlr7a. I thought it was the prettiest gun out there but the warpoet takes the cake. I really like rmr's over the holosuns.
Barrel fluting. Straight is easier to maintenance. The major upgrade that gets missed by everyone is the beefed up slide on the War Poet. The part of the slide that holds the rsa is Glock gen5 thick.
Did you buy the war poet used? That looks like a standard oem Glock extended slide release.
I have the war poet and the slide release is the same as in the elite mr920, my guess is they started with the different slide stop/release on the earlier war poets and then switched back to the regular ones. Best gun i have ever owned, i shot 300 rds the first day and not one single malfunction through both glock and pmags
I really appreciate the comparison to the P365XL, that’s the exact setup I am switching from.
Why not both? :) I got the mr920 elite and I swap between the two. P365xl is an amazing gun. I love how slim it is without sacrificing round count and it's got almost a glock 19 size barrel in it. Plus the optic cut (any gun I own nowadays needs an optic cut!) and the sweet straight trigger. I love both of them. Right now I'm carrying the mr920 the most since it's colder weather, but I carried the sig all summer. In shorts it's amazing. It's genuinely comfortable to carry. Keep both and rotate em depending on wardrobe!
It just looks like cosmetic differences that dosent really matter for function or hard use.
Recently picked up the Warpoet version and have 500 rounds through it without a single malfunction. Compared to any of the Glock’s I have shot I am quite impressed with this gun. Although, I much prefer my LTT Elite Beretta 92 compact this is an extremely high quality gun. CJ I am down in the SE corner of MI-where are you?
You really have me scratching my head about the difference in weight.
I went to both Sportsman’s Guide and Shadow Systems to compare the advertised weights of the CR920 and MR920. Sportsman’s Guide and Shadow Systems advertise different weights for both of these pistols. I didn’t look at the DR920. I’m having a hard time believing they are different and wonder which is more accurate.
Freeland Michigan here! Huge sig guy…however.. just ordered the war poet because I respect, support, and trust John .. this review was awesome.. as a lefty myself, I I’ve always wanted to go to Glock because of the variety of aftermarket customizations and holster options… sure you can wait 4 months for a tier1, But if you stop in to Cabela’s and you want a simple outside the waistband holster for the weekend …yeah you better have a Glock …you know what I mean… but Without a bunch of customization ,except for reliability , the Glock grip, trigger, on and on blows compared to sig in general but I’m very excited about this and who knows maybe this will motivate me to switch my EDC from the 365 XL…Honestly I really hope so life would be easier for a lefty
Fellow lefty here! Are you not concerned or annoyed about the lack of a slide release for lefties on these otherwise high value modifications of a Gen 3 Glock released twenty three years ago in 1998??/!! The big advantage of the Glock Gen 5 for us Lefties is the ambi slide release they have finally added which took them long enough, especially when you consider the other competitive striker options which have been more ambi with slide releases or totally ambi from HK, Walther ,Sig, S&W,FN, Beretta APX, CZ and IWI Masada to name a few!!
Why can’t Shadow Systems and Zev and even Polymer80 etc modernize their Glock based products off of the Gen 5 which has been out now 4 years since its 2017 release instead of still using a 1998 gen 3 design??
@@jonathanglassman2021 I heard part of why all the Glock clones are coming out is a patent for the Gen 3s expired. That’s why they can make them without being sued.
The 5s are new so the patent probably won’t be up for a while.
You do think someone would figure out another way to add a left hand release though that didn’t infringe on the Gen 5 design.
Such a good comparison video. And oddly satisfying to watch. The OCD is insane and warranted. How do you sleep at night wondering which one to use!! I would go insane. Which light to use as well.. It’s killing me😃
Thank you, man! So glad someone took the time to compare these two.
Thank you, perfect comparison
Nice review comparing the two! Been looking for a video specifically covering this…
I like that cerakote light, sweet pieces!!! Thanks for the vid!!!
Thanks for making the comparison video, we needed!
No problem! I couldn't find one on RUclips so I decided to make one.
You should check out their new comp. It's very nice
Shadow Systems has a great video explaining break in period. Every gun has one whether the manufacturer admits it or not. Break in loosens up the tolerances.
Gr8 video man, thanks!
My boy has almost 3k worth of pistols lmao. Damn bro. Took me forever to save money for my Poet pistol.
There are differences because one of those is an updated version that SS puts out. This isn't some fluke. It's like a gen1 and a gen 2
I think I would prefer the front serration on the war poet.
I just purchased a MR920 elite last week and it came with the “extended” slide release.
Mine a month ago, has the standard slide lock
Great video
Thx a lot!
The war poet has a thinner slide in the front where the top serrations are at. Maybe that's where the weight savings is at.
Love my MR920 Elite. Great review
Good review just got the mr920 l. I have a hollison 507 that is on my canik tp9sfx going to put it on there till I can pick up the trigge con .but I do like the hollison for the shake wake feature and it also has auto bright .what brand of light are you running I like the even with the barrel. Did subscribe nice video
The weapon light was called aplc. I believe that model is discontinued.
Thanks for the comparison! Great video.
I own a MR920 with holosun. My favorite pistol I have ever fired. I have never seen a War Poet in person, let alone fired one. Let us know how you like the War Poet.
You can swap the red dots and carry the war poet pistol. Same thumb print.
I didn’t realize till this video that the war poet was it’s own version. I was thinking hard about getting a shadow system and now you got me trying to find that war poet version.. wonder if I can still find one.
Spoke too soon. Give the war poet the spiral barrel and then it’s perfect. Choices choices. Hmm
Does the war poet and elite have the same sheen of the black coating on the slides? Looks like the war poet is more dull or even a different color possibly. Trying to decide which I like better since I haven’t seen a war poet in person
Need to oil those girls. Thanks for the comparison, really appreciate it. I own a few Glocks and a load of Sigs so I’m intrigued with your statement that this War Poet/920 shoots better than my x5 320. That’s saying a lot. Had to order the WP. Now cannot wait to run this pistol.
Man, that War Poet looks sweeeeeet!
Thanks again for your opinions on these handguns, this vid threw me over the top in getting the WP pistol. Keep up the great work.
P.S. I’m sure you broke this pistol in by now, any thoughts/opinions on the WP? Shoot the same?? Better? Very interested to hear what you think.
Sigs aren’t flat shooting at all. Has nothing to do with price or if it’s an x5 legion version or not. All glocks shoot flatter than all sigs. It’s just the design. Lower bore axis less muzzle rise. Shorter barrel less muzzle rise. Just the way it is.
Nice!!
Great review! Thanks
Man, that slide squeak is like nails on the chalkboard.
Great video! Very informative...
What up doe!? Are you in se Michigan by chance? Would love to link, might have a few guns for you to look at and maybe do some reviews.
I also am a michigunner. Howdy neighbor.
My WarPoet doesn't have that little bump on the slide release 🤷♂️, also wish it would have came with the optic cut cover plate, I got the halosun preinstalled package WarPoet
Thanks for the review
Outstanding video.
my war poet is reversed on the slide release. it docent have the raised nob.
Just me probably, but I wouldn’t want the extended slide release. I would end up locking the slide back accidentally with my grip.
I have the war poet mr920. Although my slide release is the one in your regular mr920. Are you weighing them with the lights in them? If so could that be the difference?
What holster are you using for the warrior poet flashlight?
I suggest everyone watch Shadow systems video on why every gun needs a break in period. It makes good sense..
No hate on shadow systems the mr920 is next on my list but my glocks never need a break in unless Glock is shooting them like CZ does. That being said i understand the break in period and don’t mind it but I believe with time they won’t even need a break in period at all once they get further in the game
its all just cosmetic differences. internally they are the same gun. as far as your different slide stop/release, it appears to be a change they made in the later runs of the MR920s. I have both the Elite and War Poet, and both of them have the standard lock/release. I got both of them in the fall of 2020. There are also some that have different mag release buttons, as Shadow Systems had a quality issue with the extended release they didn't like. So some later 2020 MR920s came with a standard Glock style release, before they got the new re-specd ones. I had to order an extended one from them when they got the new ones in for my War Poet as I wanted it to match and feel like my Elite, but it was one of the batches that had the standard style on it. but yeah TLDR, same gun just look different, both are amazing and awesome and great to shoot and carry
What is the price difference if equipped the same?
Different optics might make the .5 ounce difference
Thanks a lot appreciated this
if you can't afford 200 rounds to break in and practice with you should not trust your life to it period.
Don't use the Pmags!! Use OEM Glock mags and I bet you wouldn't have had any failure to feeds!
I have the 2 just as you do. Got my Warrior Poet and have had no failures. My regular MR920 I had several failures to feed in the first 100 rounds.
Do you know if anyone has put on the 509T?
Which RMR did you put on?
Cut on the slides and or cuts on the barrel
I prefer my Damascus cut but yeah they’re all basically the same.
I feel like my mr920 has more recoil than a standard gen 5 g19 but I do t have an optic or light on so that may explain it.
The pistol does not have to go bang in order to break it in. Dry fire, dry fire, dry fire.
So i just won a mr920 elite with a agency comp and i was wondering what safariland holster it fit
It’s suppose to fit with Glock 19 holsters
I’d like one in the g26 size.
The CR920 is out now
That rmr is bothering me so much some one burn you on that but thanks for comparison man
Fr it’s like looking at J’s with the backwards jump man 😭🤦🏽♂️
Putting me to sleep with this video
How do u like that inforce light vs streamlight?
Mine doesn't have the extended slide release must be a added part to the gun.
literally the only non-aesthetic difference is the different slide serrations.
Been looking for the 920 broski. Where did you find yours?
GunBroker
Thanks my guy
Sportsmansguide and midway USA
@@themichigunnercj how much did you get it for on gunbroker?
The war poet weighs less because 1, the trigger is polymer vs the mr920 has metal trigger and 2, the rmr weighs less than the holosun. Plus if you weighed them with the lights on there could be a difference in weight there as well.
45 damn my local is 28 n i think that's bad.. I order on line get 500 for 150 shipped all day
My war poet didn’t come with the extended slide release
What are some companies that make holsters for this gun? Do you all have any recommendations?
I read that it uses the same holster as a Glock 19, so everyone should have them.
Tier 1 has a custom one made for the war poet.
Nice comparison. Sounds like your rails need lube.
Reg 920 looks better imho
N just drop a extended glock slide stop on the reg mr920 no biggie
what holsters do you use IWB
Is that a knock off RMR?
I didn't know they made knockoffs. No it's real. It's the auto adjusting model.
Which RMR did you choose?
I don't remember the model off the top of my head it's the auto adjusting one.
Are you from Michigan?
Yes I am
@@themichigunnercj do you still live here?
@@themichigunnercj oh man we have to go shooting together some time! 🔥
Never ever buy your range ammo from the range
May i ask why?, guessing the price.
They are essentially the gun. The rest is cosmetics.
Nice video. Now I just gotta shell out $1,300
Watch this video on 1.5 speed and thank me later
Nice video
