So good Sandi! You have created a beautiful body of work and I love how diverse it is too. That was such a good idea to re-paint over the piece you didn't like and end up with such a joyful, colourful portrait. I wish I could see them all in person too. Have a rest now and put your feet up!

Ohhh good Fran - I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I can't wait to show you guys the studio too - it's still in the works - I'm at the "this feels overwhelming" part but it will be worth it when it's all done!
This project was so inspiring. I have done a ton more loose sketching with just one pen or pencil or paintbrush and color since watching this series. Loved it so much!

Hey Sandi! I finally ordered the Lyra Aquacolor crayon set of 48. I just couldn't talk myself out of it. I also got some black watercolor paper 100% cotton. It's going to be fun waiting for it to get here. I enjoyed this video and the additional one Mel did. I do like watching you two paint. Have a good evening and see you soon. ~Fran
Fran, oh my goodness that is going to be so much fun to get in the mail!!! Ok, make sure to let me know what you think of it when you get them! I encourage you to do a color chart when you get them and reorder them - put them either in color families or value families.

I've been watching your videos from oldest to most recent, and it's so funny to hear you say that you don't like mixing media when I know where your art is going! Seeing your journey documented over the years is inspiring, and its so interesting to see how your skills have developed with practice. Love your art, I always come to you when I need inspiration. I haven't picked up the oil pastels in a while and I plan to grab them tonight

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Question....what is the difference between gouache and the Flashe paint? And, I never thought to use my inks to paint! Im' learning from you!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it Eileen! I get that question a lot. I do talk a little about it in my 'Favorite Colors' video but I'm going to be doing an "All About Flashe Paint" video soon because I get so many questions about it. Short answer is that it's more like acrylic than gouache but it's actually a vinyl paint and it's very matte. In this weeks video I show 2 paintings side by side - one in acrylic and one in Flashe paint.
