Gotta give it to you, you definitely put in the time to fish the waters and make sure you cover a lot of ground. Good stuff..glad you avoided the skunk.
Dillon that was awesome bro. We have all been there on the skunk train too! It makes those killer days like the one you just had worth it. Just a part of fishing. Awesome afternoon on the blues!
From my experience, even though you were catching you’re working that Tsunami Talking Popper too fast. You’re working it more like a pencil popper. Next time, try giving it 2-3 hard pops then let it sit for anywhere from 3-10 second, reel in slack and repeat. You’ll be surprised on just how hits you get when the popper is just resting/sitting on the surface.
Hello Dillon, I was never be there NJ to catch striped flats area. Please tell me where is location in? Sooner later I will be trying to catch striped bass. Thank you.
It's the navionics app. They used to offer a free version. Not sure if they still do. But if you're just learning about this app now you're behind the 8-ball lol.
Slow retrieve down brother 1/4 reel turns pause for 3 to 8 seconds. Vary pauses from 3 to 8 seconds better chance of not losing a fish. Sadly lost a nice fish because my line was 8lbs. I took off 8lbs and put 15 lb on there. I used a drop shot. It was hard to tell it was either a 10 plus lb striper, or a big shad. This beast fought me like a trooper. After i lost the big fish i saw it jump towards bait near a pocket towards the shore line. After losing 2 fish i said not next time i put heavier line. Ill be prepared next time. I used my go to a mullet colored 5 inch fluke and it was on a drop shot.
Lots of pee in that spot during the summer time with all the boats there lol. Love seeing you fishing all the spots I fish as well man. Surprised I never ran into you yet.
bro what was that app u were checking the water depth on? that seems super useful! I try to use as little tech in my fishing as possible but that can help for sure!
@@dillonfishing I use tons of Tsunami tackle; rods, reels, pliers, plugs and never really had any complaints. I’m good friends with a Tsunami Rep and always tell him how impressed I am with their products. Just picked up a few of their new Tidal Poppers this morning. If you ever fished a Smack-It Popper than you’ll like these.
What’s the app you use for water depth?
I switch out the treble hooks with singles on all my bluefish poppers, etc. Much easier to release and it won’t effect the hook ups.
Nice ! “That a way to stick with it “ 14 hours !
Good video Them blues are hard fighters & alot of fun to catch

Brother come to long island in November. We get 20lb blues. Youll love it
🤔
@dillonfishing Im serious..a dude landed the NY state record of 25.5 lbs fishing the fall blitz at Atlantic Beach NY. Its nuts dude
“How I missed the bend in the rod” is crazy
Have to be pouring sweat in neoprene waders....used them last fall in too warm weather... thought was taking on water from so much sweat
Yeah this day was brutal wading around
Blues all day every day Bing Bong
Yup...i could definitely have him for dinner...just one...
What county was this? BTW I get needle nose pliers at the dollar store so I don't worry about them.
Still got the sunglasses code?
How long are the bluefish around for? I always wanted to catch one!
Before the jesskis

LOL you know where he is too haha
Definitely a lot of pee and puke in that water
Can I use popper on pier?
Workability depends on the height of the pier, but it should work.
What Waders ?
