I will forever wait for his Nine Club episode. He has been my favorite skater since I saw this part, in this video, in 1999. I bought his Emerica shoes too, back in the day. Always will be my fav.
I was a freshman at El Toro when this video dropped in 98. I'll never forget watching this for the first time with my friends and being absolutely shocked and blown away seeing Heath ram through the front gate of our school with the van and then lipsliding the 20 stair rail.
That Jeremy Klein's BS Lip is so gnarly. So easy to stick or slip out on that trick and to time it off such a high drop. Such an awesome part, music, suits and kicker to whatever haha
@@Ragtags Jeremy Klein is one of my favorite skaters, I recently got 2 jk industries skateboards one being Klein's OG shaped world industries Candybar graphic reissued by Jk industries and autographed by Jeremy Klein and the other was the OG Hook-ups Dream girl graphic. Amazing quality skateboards and hand-screened graphics.
I'm a skater and I bought an FBM video because of a van homan part and the dudes driving a car off a loading dock. Can't remember the name of the video though...
The video came out in 98, I was a junior in high school. I remember wearing a suit skating for a week because of this video. It will always be a top video in my book as well.
Last day of school, my teacher let me play this video in class. Half way thru the video she turned off the TV and said she was gunna report every body in the video to the LAPD
Ever since back in the day, I've said that Greco's bs 360 down Bricktown 10 in Misled Youth was near Identical to Jeremy Klein's in The End. Soo beautiful.
I thought the h-street skater that worked in the gas station was Ray Simmons, there was also a Southbank skater called Ben Jobe, but I loved Rogers little outtake.
I've still got my original vhs copy with the open cover. I still prefer the superbeast/ under pressure song combo instead of the later version playing superbeast/ don't come around here no more
They changed the song in a later release??? I cant imagine it this was such a perfect combo. I also have the fli-cover VHS still, somewhere in the garage I have a VHS player just for this and a few other old skate videos
Remember when he was mystery guest on KOTR? Thrasher did him dirty and gave him a concussion with a toilet. He probably wont do anything ever again haha.
The 90s were a wildass times indeed! It's awesome to see the Phantom Jeremy Klein in action! Though, shout out to Jeremy, Y'all gotta review Hook-Ups 'Destroying America' It's a TRIP.
Of course skating has progressed so much since then, but going back in time in a sense to rewatch a classic with my 7 year old son and seeing his reaction is a hard feeling to beat
In junior high, i watched that VHS so many times I ruined it from rewinding so many times, than mimicked the skateboarding in a suit for 2 Friday’s in a row in spring. Those where fun times:) Man was Free
Man I used to chat with this dood on AIM back in the day and he was from the San Diego area, he was like yeah Willy Santos that Lipslide ender, that was at my high school. Jeremy Klein is pretty under rated I think, we need to get him on the show you guys.
Damn I bought that vid with three buddy on vhs. It's lost in time Best video at the time n all time . This part is the best with music. I payed 89¢ in 98 for gas
One of the greatest of all time. I got the white VHS cassette when it came out...1998. There was a great Transworld article shortly after interviewing them about this part and how they did it.
This is the best video part i have ever seen plus the first skate video i ever seen.. so Let's just say this is the only good skate video I've ever seen
Such an amazing film. I haven't rewatched this part but I'm thinking music is Rob zombie. I jumped off a pier once but never again. learned some newer piers are built right over old ones. things like rebar sticking out. Be careful
My friends and I skated El Toro for years before this. We'd skate the lunch 4 and 5 steps and look at this rail all the time and think "is this doable?"
At the time Steve Berra had a part in Nash I believe it was. I always thought he made a hook up with some of the stunt guys and that’s how they were able to do the pyro shit
Every now & again, I Watch the DVD version of THE END with the audio commentary on because Jeremy got absolutely drunk & pretty much every other word he said from Berra's part onward had to be bleeped out! In Addition, Joey Poiriez [R.I.P.] was an AM for Birdhouse back then.
The DVD is worth buying for Jeremy Klein talking s**t on everyone from Steve Berra, to Jamie Mosberg the cameraman, the Vivid Video porno girls, all the way to the pyrotechnics professional they hired. No one was spared that night. Jeremy even said he had been waiting years to do the commentary and talk about everybody.
I juuuust bought a copy of The End on VHS recently, and there are 2 different songs on the vhs than I remember from when I was a kid.. maybe because it’s a special edition copy?
What songs? Steezus said “under pressure” when it started, but I remember them skating to Tom petty “ don’t come around here No more”.....I had a dvd of it so maybe I had a weird version?
When ever I see the spot where Heath ollied the gap over the car it reminds me that Jayme Fortune did a frontside halfcab and a nollie backside flip over it.
Yup. In my city, gas ranged from .89 to .98 a gallon. Me and my friend had Honda Civics, and would go to the SuperAmerica gas station (that had a Taco Bell Express in it) with $10; we could fill our tanks for $8, and with the remaining $2 get a 32 ounce fountain drink for .89 cents and a Taco Bell bean burrito for the same .89 cent price.
@@thethe3244 yea..I had a Honda civic too lol..I was like 21... just moved from Whittier to temecula..I would visit Whittier and back with 5 bucks of gas lol

Fs lip but yeah it was wild even by todays standards
The Rog interrupting to fact check thing needs to be a regular thing on the Nine Club haha! Love it!
I ride BMX and remember watching this at a skater friends house and immedietly getting into my car to go buy a copy. That's how epic this shit was.

I once cried watching this part. It's a work of art.
That back 3 was sick but y'all were too worried about that damn van! 🤘🤣🤘
The BLOCKBUSTER sign was right there in whittier off La Mirada blvd... I remember seeing the grind marks on the sign..
Yep la mirada and imperial
this was the 1st skate video I watched and it changed my life forever. Willys part was sick, Reynolds was unbelievable and Heath/Klein just killed it
This was my fav part as a kid. VHS version > DVD version
Yea I didn't care for Tom Petty much either.
So ture under pressure fit the part better by far wish I could find it
i only know of the VHS version with Under Pressure. Never realized they changed the song for the DVD version
I've watched this episode like three times already. Was conscious for maybe one a half
Last day of school, my teacher let me play this video in class. Half way thru the video she turned off the TV and said she was gunna report every body in the video to the LAPD

Willy Santos had a dope part too!
Raj (Rog) you’re a class act, buddy. Props on the correction. East coast represent.
The End I think got me into Portishead, Reynold's part is so dope.
I like the fact check editing bay excerpt Rog. Very pro!
I’d really love if they could get Heath on the show.
He's my #1 pick right now to get on the show!
Check out the Hawk vs the Wolf. New heath kirchart interview

Southbank Ben Jobe was my boss at the Skate Of Mind shop!
@@remeo55 that's sick, I was lucky enough to witness he's skating back in the 90's, the way he skated was so pure, a Southbank and London legend.

"first skate video on film, right?"
Roger: "No" 0:47
Rog is Law
Stacy Peralta was shooting on film in the mid 80s
Rog setting up a camera to correct himself solidifies his legend status. Amazing

Hahaha I just left a comment about this. I bought the special edition vhs recently and was so confused with the song changes.
They changed the song in a later release??? I cant imagine it this was such a perfect combo. I also have the fli-cover VHS still, somewhere in the garage I have a VHS player just for this and a few other old skate videos
Under pressure is a way better song for it imho that's the version I know too
The closest well have to having Heath kirchart on the show
Remember when he was mystery guest on KOTR? Thrasher did him dirty and gave him a concussion with a toilet. He probably wont do anything ever again haha.
God I wish Kirchart would be on the show, my favorite all time guy!

They did do the on fire jump off the pier again, watch the end credits, both pulled it that time too!

The best part is the bus stop cause Klein does it and then Heath hypes it up and does it also.

Does the vhs version have Under Pressure? It was a much better song than what they ended up having to use.
Apparently it does, I only have the DVD with Tom Petty. Also Willy Santos track was changed between the releases.
anyone else remember the “sequel” destroying america? had more van shenanigans and fkn eric estrada for some reason.
What about matt Mumford or whatever he hit it didn't he with a Smith grind I think
