i think people would really love to see small sessions with the guest afterwards in your park. Something light to wrap up the interview and end on a fun note!
One of my biggest inspirations as far as maintaining sobriety. Looked up to him as a teen skate rat and came back around to discovering that he was sober, when I was in the worst phase of my abuse. 8 months in and its just great to see him thriving and honestly, I feel the best I have ever felt in my life. AA is a huge help as well.
Andrew Reynolds in This is Skateboarding was the best part ever! Miss that time a lot. Not skating anymore… Maybe buy a board and start again with my kids..?
I love that Andrew gave props to Ocean Howell and Kris Markovich, i had the Santa Cruz vid "risk it- gambling with gravity" . I loved Ocean's part in it and still one of my favorite videos from that Era that doesn't get enough love. I had the gator pattern Vision shorts even, 😅😅
Tony, Jason ... You 2 were my idols back when I skated between 2000 and 2015 and discovering this pod cast in my 30s got my fishing out my dusty Santa Cruz bamboo deck and got back in the skate park I haven't been in for 10 years and loving life again love you guys!!!
The Passion we all skaters have in our memories is priceless! I’m 50 now 5 spine surgeries deep and down to just rolling on a carver yet my most vivid memories are skatin with the homies all hours of the day! So special. Once a skater always a skater!
Get Willy on the show! I remember watching his trick tips when the internet just started up, way back in the day. His website had a list of tricks, which were like 5 second, pixelated videos of him doing the trick (and it took forever to load them lmao).
Willy is the best! I interviewed him in a over bee down in Tampa for my show. Not intentionally trying to promo my show, but this was the first comment I saw when I was watching this episode so I had to mention it lol
this episode is so good. it's rare to hear 3 really good skaters speaking about skateboarding in such exact terms with such enthusiasm. so many great skaters either can't put it into words or are too cool to geek out about it. this is almost like having 3 hosts. it's wild
Having a rough day and this made me legitimately happy. Andrew is my all time favorite and he should definitely talk more. Some great inspirational quotes from him in this episode.
Drew talking about addiction is very great. Im going through my bout with weed and tobacco. This podcast was one of a few things that have pushed me in the right direction in past weeks. Skating and drugs especially smoking is very common and difficult to avoid, and its bad when you see so many pros like tom penny or B Herman who smoke a ton but can do what they do, its another excuse you can use to continue. This was a great one. Andrew was a massive influence on me when I started skating, all I wanted as a kid was to be able to do massive gaps with just a hint of the style and confidence that he did. It would be awesome to bring Willy or Jeremy Klein on, I love hearing stories about the early Birdhouse days.

This was such a great episode. It literally made my day. As a skater from the late 90s-2000s and through 2010s, this was a hell of an episode. You guys geeking out on technical tricks made me geek out too hahaha. Thanks you guys for keeping on. All love and support.
This could have been 3 hours and I would have rewatched it. Thanks so much for having Andrew on. I would love to hear another conversation like this from you guys again but for now I am grateful that you did this one.
By far the best interview I've seen on hawk versus wolf! Thank you Tony and Jason for this great interview with Andrew. You all are legends, red dragons forever.
man i love the fact he got sober at 24! when i got sober there was no young people it really sucked, i love how now there's so many people for others to release too! their programs are so strong you can tell in their voices!
My first skateboard was a Nash that my mom bought me at the Santee flea market in sandiego. I rode that thing into the ground. We were poor, so I didn't get another board for years. Then in 94, I picked it back up. Fell in love all over again.
Riley is fire. That middle part talking about him quitting social media because of Hawk comparisons and nepotism and stuff. Dude has always had a really good eye for tricks, also one of the best crews with Kirby and Rowan

Back in the day Willy and Steve cabellero taught me how to drop in, also Willy taught me how to kick flip that trip to. Back in a kauai skate camp in like 2005-2006 time!
Watching Tony and Jason read out ads is like watching Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen host that New Year’s Eve show. On a side note, congrats on the 100th ep gents 👏
All of the late 80's skaters remember snagging wood from the construction sites, right? Yeah, we went down into the new houses being built next to the apartments we lived in and just jacked it. Made a jump ramp and it was over. Great memories.
Yea man, I’m with ya. 48 and was really into skating from 85 to 90 or so. I had older friends who could drive and they would totally snag wood from sites and we would build ramps. We had so many “launch ramps”. Loved hearing the mid 80s recap, definitely unbraced the 80s skate fashion. Mcsqeeb hair cut, Berets, vision street wear…. Good memories
Believe in yourselves and each other and never give up on your dreams and aspirations and remember to be kind and uplifting to each other and open minded and genuine and respectful and humble.
Andrew Reynolds has been and will be on of my greatest hero’s to look up too. Man helped me find my own way through sobriety watching his interviews and this podcast episode was a stark reminder 🫡
It's beautiful, for Reynolds, and non-Reynolds fans, anyone can learn from his faults. I wish I could have been younger to see this and be inspired by such a talented and brilliant person to make better decisions in my life early on, than to rather destroy what could have been. Due to bad decisions in my life, I have health problems now which detour me from being able to be the best to my abilities. I hope skaters can watch this with appreciation and gratitude and take it forward for a better lifestyle. Godspeed.
What's crazy is I don't know anyone that isn't a Reynolds fan. People have issues with Jamie Thomas, Hawk, Muska... Basically anyone from the late 90s and up. But Reynolds is built different and that's why he's remained most of our favorites, besides the frontside flips, it's also why we want more interviews with him. I just like hearing the Boss talk.
Andrew reynolds at the end when Tony asked to look at the camera and say like and describe, he then said it but quickly noticed he wasn't saying the right thing but no one else noticed it even after he questioned it and had a look of confusion.
The kid in me is so happy to hear about his sobriety. I'm 6 years in now and I'm still struggling sometimes. I won't let my son have an alcoholic father the way I did.
Man ..I really wish I could find get me a pair of the Krew corduroys again. The brown ones and grey. Also a pair of the baggy Krew jeans would be amazing.
this is my favorite episode of any podcast ever or tv show or interview or anything. fuck i wanted this to go on for 4 more hours. love you guys. thanks, skateboarding.
Andrew with the new balance hat.. ya love to see it. Dude deserves it. He put his dues into the skateboarding culture. He should be able to relax when it's all said and done. One of the best ever to step on a board. Still killing it.
relax!? is that what it means to give Into the money from one of the evil shoe companies? dude I swear to God if Nike made full completes..... even more core skate brands would go under. they would eventually put DLX SF outta business or some shit.
@@eatassonthefirstdate sorry dude I agree on what you're saying but there's no money in other brands.. drew probably even has insurance through them.. these other companies cannot provide, so riders look else wear.. early 2000s skateboarding has long passed. We need to live and pay bills..I love the core brands but unfortunately the quality is going down severely and isn't worth the price tag.
@@McFlurryMachineIsDown bro, baker alone is big enough that him and all his employees PROBLY got insurance thru them. family plans thru Aetna, Kaiser, and Anthem Blue Cross/Blue shield are like a little over a thousand a month. any pro skater can afford that. a pro could afford 2000 a month lol especially with all the sponsorship deals that come today. to pretend that without Nike, NB, Red Bull etc that skaters can't have insurance is a crock of shit. this is what Nike predicted 20+ years ago when they started making SB Dunks and then when they bought Converse. and thanks to ppl just nodding their head and going along with that narrative, soon core brands won't even exist. and talking Abt quality, any board company can work with Prof. Schmitt and have good decks produced. eS and the rest of sole tech BEEN making great shoes, along with the likes of Globe, DVS and even all the way back to Duffs, Nice, Reef, Simple and other 90s sk8 shoe brands. lol and into the 80s before me with vans half cabs, Vision hi tops and Airwalk Prototypes. I wouldn't care if they offered me n my entire family free shoes every month and a 50,000 dollar pay every year, I wouldn't sign with NB the ppl who make grandpa shoes 🤣 I've seen it all since back in the mid 90s bro. them big companies just write big checks and ruin core brands, That's it. when DLXSF and NHS wind up bought by Nike, THATS when u know that skating is done as we know it. soon there will be Nike Decks n Wheels, good FCKING god. and I'm afraid that'll happen soon.
Thanks guys, even though he thinks he has nothing to say, it's so great to listen to andrew talk. That being said - I would really appreciate if you get him back on in a few years. Let him recover from all the talking he did and then in a few years get him back.

Would love just to hear Andrew talk/ask about tricks for hours.
Inserting clips of the tricks you guys were talking about was super rad. I still can believe how fast these hours go by.
Two of my favorite skaters two weeks in a row? Second Rodney episode that was teased next? 🤔🤔
Keep killing it guys, here’s to 100 more!
I can now listen again cause Jason didn’t drop the F bomb every second
So happy Andrew exists on this earth. Great perspectives too. This is an outstanding 100th episode. #LegendShit
Willy, Matt Beach, Berra, Hawk, Andrew.... Canada Tour, way da fukk back, in a roller rink... madness! #respect
Man ..I really wish I could find get me a pair of the Krew corduroys again. The brown ones and grey. Also a pair of the baggy Krew jeans would be amazing.
Thank you for your honesty Andrew 🙏its a hard road to travel
this is my favorite episode of any podcast ever or tv show or interview or anything. fuck i wanted this to go on for 4 more hours. love you guys. thanks, skateboarding.
Awesome episode guys! Thanks for doing this , Andrew rocks!
Best episode, I could nerd out on this for weeks. So good. 👏👏👏
Thats epic that lance Armstrong fixed the Twitter situation tony.
I wouldn't care if they offered me n my entire family free shoes every month and a 50,000 dollar pay every year, I wouldn't sign with NB the ppl who make grandpa shoes 🤣
I've seen it all since back in the mid 90s bro.
them big companies just write big checks and ruin core brands, That's it.
when DLXSF and NHS wind up bought by Nike, THATS when u know that skating is done as we know it. soon there will be Nike Decks n Wheels, good FCKING god.
and I'm afraid that'll happen soon.
Thanks guys, even though he thinks he has nothing to say, it's so great to listen to andrew talk. That being said - I would really appreciate if you get him back on in a few years. Let him recover from all the talking he did and then in a few years get him back.
Much love Riley..The Boss has always been a favorite.
