Tony does such a good job in letting other people tell their own story. You can tell it was harder this time since he was a part of most of Riley's stories but he stopped himself and let Riley talk. I think that is a big part of what makes this podcast so much fun to listen to.
i wish jason was as good at that… always feels like bro is waiting to jump at a chance to tie his own story or experience to someone elses, sometimes to the point where he wont even let them finish😢 still a dope pod wolf is still cool too
Riley is a really super humble person and totally down plays his many talents which says alot about how he was raised and how he doesnt see himself as popular or as a icon really respect his personality
Tony is the best dad bro he literally remembers everything about his son. From bones broken to people who were around when bones were broken. Love that dude
The most profound legacy a father can bestow upon his son is the freedom and assurance to take risks and full send. In turn, the most heartfelt tribute a son can offer his father is to take that ethos and forge his unique path with it. I salute Tony and Riley for epitomizing this bond to its fullest.
I know he has his parenting regrets (who doesn't), but Tony seems like such a great father. Riley has really grown into his own, seems like such a good guy. Happy for Riley!
Riley is such an inspirational skater with a kind of an aesthetic to his style that defies accurate description. The meeting of athleticism and grace is evident in his tricks and some of the gnarly things he's done, like ollie-ing on top of piping and over a waterway and down into a ditch among others. He has truly earned his top status in skateboarding from the amount of work, sacrifice, and multitude of injuries he's endured to get there. On top of being gifted, this interview has revealed him to be humble (almost to a fault), grounded, and laid back. I'm glad the loop is retired.
What a time it is. You get to sit down and watch the Legends we have all grown up watching just hang out and chat it up like some regular dudes. What a epic pod cast this is. Stay Extreme Everybody.
Father and sons famous or just normal gnarly folk is priceless! For every Hawk there’s a million rippers with son rippers out there! Respect equally to all the rippers!
It’s hard as a parent to determine your child’s injuries over the phone. A buddy of mine from high school was in a low speed head on collision during a sneezing fit he was having, he felt fine, thought he was just shook up. Called his dad to tell him about it then went home to take a nap and never woke up. Was heartbreaking to think that we hadn’t considered he had a concussion when the speed was so slow it didn’t set off the airbag.
Wow, back when I was in my skating heyday in the early 2000s and such, Riley was so young and talented. I knew he'd grow up to be something remarkable. I got a real respect and understanding of who he is as a person from this interview. Way to raise your kid right Tony.
I hope you guys understand that you probably just made the very best episode of any podcast that has ever been made! I am not kidding one bit, that was superb. Riley, you are good man, and I could heap praises on you til the cows come home but you being a good man comes with the humility of not needing those compliments. What a Legend Jason, you nailed it with some of the best "interview" questions you've ever asked. You were fantastic! And Tony, dude you fn legend maker you. Did anyone see how Tony was dad checking Jason when Jason would do his 'get louder than the guest thing'? No offense Jason, I said you were fantastic, but Tony wasn't gonna have that with his son, it was cool that's all I'm saying. Thanks Tony for everything. Rad one tonight gentlemen
I feel like Riley is out doing so much stuff that getting him on is a real accomplishment, even for Hawk/Wolf. He's like a young Rodney Mullen, in that there are not that many interviews out there; or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
Bro I was sitting here for an hour trying to figure out why Jason looks different I was like “I don’t see him getting plastic surgery or anything but he legitimately looks completely different” bruh he just shaved the mustache😂😂 he looks like 10 years younger lmao I was tripping
Riley’s Shep Dawg parts and Bake and Destroy part were on REPEAT in my house when I was younger, all my friends and I would watch his parts, listen to Black Sabbath and then try and go skate a ditch or rail that we had no business skating lol. Stoked to see him doing well, also stoked to see him in Jiu Jitsu (another thing I like to do)
Well that was great... awesome to hear I wasnt reimagining things...I skated wit u an Riley at Ferny Grove in Brisbane bak when he wouda be 4 yrs old...it wasnt a demo just a skate session....it was so rad seeing how u had no fear of olling the box holdin his hands between yr feet... I also got a wallie over the plastic water filled road barriers that arvo so I was stoked bigtime..not expecting u would remember this but I do...that was when I knew that u were a propah good bloke... good shit.
Hey Tony you can call me a grown ass adult as much as you want but the way you said "fucking demo" on a rare swear had me rewinding and laughing my ass off! Hahahahaha. It was also teally rad to see him as a proud father!! Top notch as usual boys 👌
Jeez Jason! I’m worried about all these head hits lately dude. Been a fan since Sirius and you’re just hitting your prime! We need you all good in the head mate
Hahaha yup broken collarbone here fmx on a seatgrab missed the grab holes and really did a superman to kasplat and many more get off's on the mx and skating gotta love em both... ....top self show lads... ....oh and was at those BDO's in Peth 97' pretty sure .. ...
Sad to hear that Warish sounds like it's on permanent hiatus, they really are a great band. But I understand completely, playing out is a hard life to live. I would be completely content to just jam and make music, but it's hard to find other musicians, especially ones into underground music, who feel the same.
Also- moto season is in full effect- if you want to check it out- it’s called Nellis off I-15N near the speedway … def take flags- and be aware of your location .. the dunes go all the way back to lake mead.. or ATV’s are just as awesome .. definitely take flags.. it’s not uncommon that people go shooting for practice. Mixed sand to pure gravel trails.. with some - well- just check it out.
I would Sometimes not recognize the severity of my injuries until a day or two later.. maybe it’s the adrenaline or tolerance.. I think too, engaging in a sport I knew I would encounter injuries.. but I have been a bit clumsy all my life as well.. sometimes I just had pull my panties up and handle the injury. That’s why I give mad props to all sports and look to encourage peeps to understand and critically evaluate risk. Risk is a part of life-
I liked getting the full method history. On the other hand, slam stories are definitely tough to hear, but maybe the silver lining is it has me thinking about getting stem cells.
Riley hawk! The music business is tough. And it is a lot of hard work. Yes traveling and thats the hard work.having to deal not having to be at home and deal with traveling.its part of the job. It tough it's not pretty and its rock'n roll. Imagine the stuff that Metallica and OZZY have to deal with and us Musicians. Respect touring bands because of the hard work that comes with.but respect that you gave it a shot.
Man, Jason doesn't even seem to know who the Stooges were! I agree they were not metal and maybe even had minimal influence on metal but they had a HUGE impact on what would become referred to as punk rock! Listen to songs like Search and Destroy, Raw Power, 1969, No Fun, that sound was way ahead of it's time. Bands like the Sex Pistols were obviously super influenced by the Stooges.
2 hours, nice! Hey Ellis, I'm in the middle of watching this episode and just picked up my first ever TimTam's.....WTF IS THAT!!!! not good, not horrible but wouldn't want them again. Love you, TimTams not so much 💛
Desert Breeze Park off Desert Inn is one of the original skate parks in vegas.. I think Aliante- by the M hotel- has a good one to check out- lastly- you should definitely write a song for a soundtrack
Tony does such a good job in letting other people tell their own story. You can tell it was harder this time since he was a part of most of Riley's stories but he stopped himself and let Riley talk. I think that is a big part of what makes this podcast so much fun to listen to.
We missed them in the Pro Skater games, as published by Activision.
i wish jason was as good at that… always feels like bro is waiting to jump at a chance to tie his own story or experience to someone elses, sometimes to the point where he wont even let them finish😢 still a dope pod wolf is still cool too
He's a professional
Riley is a really super humble person and totally down plays his many talents which says alot about how he was raised and how he doesnt see himself as popular or as a icon really respect his personality

Greatest podcast in the history of the universe. Love the extended length episodes. They feel more natural.
Hell yeah!
❤️
Dude, funny you mention that, this episode had such a natural flow I didn't even notice it was almost double length! 💚
"Between two Hawks" featuring Jason Ellis 🤣💯
🤣🤣🤣
a hawk meat sandwich
@@cashway0420nice 😂🤣
Ain't that the truth. I was hoping to hear some Riley Hawk.
You dudes don’t know how much this podcast means to me especially on a Monday morning
Means a lot you watch ✨
Cant second this enough
It's Wednesday
I know he has his parenting regrets (who doesn't), but Tony seems like such a great father. Riley has really grown into his own, seems like such a good guy. Happy for Riley!
It’s crazy how the greatest skateboarder of all time made a podcast
& he got Tony Hawk as a cohost
Riley is such an inspirational skater with a kind of an aesthetic to his style that defies accurate description. ❤️
I just love when Jason throws in his little Tony impressions. 😂😂😂
What a time it is. You get to sit down and watch the Legends we have all grown up watching just hang out and chat it up like some regular dudes. What a epic pod cast this is. Stay Extreme Everybody.
Hey Jason you did a really good job asking questions towards Riley in this one. Nice work!
love the dynamic when Riley is on.
This is helping me get around the anxiety today. Thank you guys for the great episode..
I agree with liking the longer episodes. An hour leaves me wanting to
Father and sons famous or just normal gnarly folk is priceless! For every Hawk there’s a million rippers with son rippers out there! Respect equally to all the rippers!
Not a skateboarder at all but I love this pod.
Life sometimes feel like a back to back slam but the way we persevere speaks to our tenacity as humans to endure the unthinkable
Imagine how worried his parents are
Best joke ever maybe from Tony
hearing the laughing in the background during the silence after jason said, "black sabbath is the first metal band" was great lol
smh no one ever mentions Budgie for pioneering metal. Black Sabbath and Budgie were the earliest and loudest ones
@@Coleman_Hi love budgie, but if you wanna talk about loud, blue cheer was breaking the sound barrier before sabbath and budgie
@@graxjpg true that, Deep Purple was pretty heavy and loud for their time too
@@Coleman_H totally. jeff beck was another that had some pretty heavy riffs. zappa had some proto-metal moments too
I would say thats fair. Even though others may have had metal songs or moments, they were the first true all metal band
Adorable how proud Tony and Jason are of Riley!
Riley and 2 hours long!! What a great Monday love the longer shows!!

Rodney and Riley are the top 2 guest ever.
Bless the Hawk family.
Durban South Africa-as Tony mentioned their trip here, got to see that demo. Was super stoked to have them in my home town. Peace love from SA🤙🏻
Peace and love to you too ✌️
Thanks so much y’all, best part of Monday is being curled up with a coffee and having a good laugh with this show!
❤️
These longer episodes are 🔥🔥 I drive a lot for work and these are slappers!!!! 🙏🏽
Love the longer podcast. Very cool to see Riley in there. Keep up the good work guys.
Best episode yet, more long form whenever it's natural!
OH BOY. this is gonna be one. 🤘🏻the golden boy, riley💚
Fascinating about the method! Great chat all around. Love the contrasting energy between Tony and Jason.
I hope you guys understand that you probably just made the very best episode of any podcast that has ever been made! I am not kidding one bit, that was superb.

When Tony hawk said, can you imagine how worried his parents are? I lost it Lmao 9:58
I love the long form pods, I get to listen while commuting or traveling.
That's like half of the world's talent in one room. So cool and great conversation!
So glad these are longer than 1 hour. Feels awesome! 1 hour felt rushed. 🎉
what awsome OG's to have around you. Good dudes.
I feel like Riley is out doing so much stuff that getting him on is a real accomplishment, even for Hawk/Wolf. He's like a young Rodney Mullen, in that there are not that many interviews out there; or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
There’s as many as there are for any other core pro. He’s been on Nine Club a couple of times.
hell yeah this is gonna be Epic and double length am i dreaming??
Your biggest fan from Little ol New Zealand is buzzing rn.
Great episode! Riley has always been a gnarly skater and Warish made some great music! Big fan of his talents but more so of the man he is!
Such a good skateboarder .. legendary stylish and gnarly parts 🔥
This is my current favourite thing to watch & has inspired me to skate again ❤️🔥 thank you kindly 🙏
Durban is such an amazing city.. so rad.

This is awesome for a lot of reasons 💚
Those laughs from the background are so nice! Love it hahaha

Thats awesome Ellis and Riley both have 10th Planet Coaches for Jits. ☝👌

He’s pretty great !
😂 I couldn’t imagine watching my dad take a slam on a vert ramp 😂
“You guys are so gay…”.
“Actually, you are.” 😂😅🤣
Tony saved the best for last
Good son. Good dad.

12:50 Godspeed
The documentary that Jason is talking about with getting tattoos removed is called Erase The Hate and is really good.
Solid ep. ✌️😁✌️
Another great episode team!

Awesome episode 🛹🛹🛹
I clicked because of the name, Jason is the best.
Jason on Spike TV: I GOT 5!

We need a full episode on how tricks were named.
Riley actually is a really good golfer too!!
Love Riley! Also, would love to see Jason's son on here one day. Not sure how old he is though?
hes like 15-16 i think, wouldnt be the most interesting show haha hes popped in on a very old episode
@@graxjpgAh okay, I was thinkin he's more like mid-late 20s. You right, probably be lame show lol

Riley is a very likeable guy
Been following this for a while now and still can't find the describe button
Nice to see Volk get some love on the pod
