  • Pepparkakor are delicious sweet, crisp and spiced Swedish gingerbread cookies, sometimes called ginger thins. They're easy to make, though you can take a little more time decorating them with icing, if you like. They're delicious any time, but are especially popular as a Christmas cookie. Once you take a bite, you'll soon see why.

Just tried these for the first time. Honestly, the packaged box on post-Christmas clearance sale was delicious, i cannot wait to make these myself... homemade must be amazing 🤩

    What is golden syrup?

It's a cane sugar syrup, in effect a light treacle - you can find it in larger supermarkets in the British section if they have one, or can also buy online.

If you are American, sometimes World Market has it, but I see light corn syrup, like Caro, often recommended as a substitute for the American kitchen.
