14:22. Yep. I am surprised that synthesis has not taken a larger step forward in this area. Overall, I guess recording samples is still a simpler, quicker and more cost effective way of producing realistic sounds and certainly easier on processor power. The compromise is the hybrid sound favoured by a company such as Spectrasonics where organic harmonics are thrown into the mix to satisfy our analogue lugs. Really like your work and fresh approach.
Your views are spot on. I think that many employ sampling as "a means to an end", that is, the recreation of "real life" instruments. I am keen on modelling instruments, and I am looking forward to when the average processor power available to the masses will make it feasible. However, I still believe that using a hybrid (or even a strictly sampling approach) allows us to produce organic instruments that perhaps are not reproductions of "real life" instruments but are, nevertheless, instruments that behave with a certain degree of unpredictability and require virtuosity in performing them. That is what I call "creative sampling", And this is the subject of the current series of my videos. I thank you for watching and sharing your insightful views. Judging from the comments here and elsewhere, the audience my channel attracts appears to be of high quality. That makes me particularly happy and motivates me to share more of my thought process.
What I like here is the amazing amount of original, oblique and rational development work you have achieved here resulting in great IP , all delivered with a really good sense of humor ..I’m your fan 🙏🏿🙏🎩👏👏🦄
Hi! Funny and insightful! I'd be interested to learn more about how to modulate, crossfade and generally work with the samples in Kontakt, once they are mapped! Also, GUI building... Do the official manuals cover all of the topics? I must confess, I need to check Kontakt's manual on that...
Thank you. I am glad you liked it! The Kontakt manuals include all the relevant information. However, I have to admit there is a steep learning curve. It is easier to see the various functions applied in context. Watch my video on building a simple string patch to get an idea. In the upcoming videos, I will be showing all of the things you mentioned, slowly and methodologically.
Glad you liked it! Coming soon - How to build your own string patch using the principle of cinematic frozen strings from Spitfire - at the edge of silence
Very cool, man! I love your videos and content. How did you go about making the video respond to modwheel?? Did you reference the KSP at all or you just are a science whiz???! cheers! Sub'd
Thank you for your comment. As for your question, check my video of how to insert a huge knob in the GUI. It shows in detail how to link modwheel etc to an animation.
Very interesting question. I will address that question in a future video. Soon. In a nutshell, I currently favour a hybrid approach. i.e. using sampling in a physical modelling framework ;)
Thank you. I will touch on scripting interfaces in future videos. But I will keep scripting light because it's not my forte. We will learn though how to script some decent skins in the course of these videos on Kontakt and sampling. Thanks for watching.
Great sounds!!! playing right now , Plz also put it on PianoBook so other artists can appreciate and make music too. Thank you for your time and efforts.❤
Thank you for your lovely comment! I am glad you enjoy the sounds. It was just a short experiment. As for PianoBook, I have some reservations. I am not quite sure about "the behavioural economics of PianoBook" and its motives. I will address this in a future video.
It ought to work on Mac as well. Jim Buhler wrote above: NB: When downloading this to a Mac, I had to add .rar to the downloaded file before it would extract properly.

@@chromofonic Thanks for taking the time to reply. I look forward to more videos. No pressure... :).
this is hands down my new favorite channel, please keep them coming.
sir you inspire me, you are amazing, love from malaysia
your videos are so good keep making

Great work and love the humor!
Brilliant Chromo!
Fantastic!
"oh German, I thought there was something wrong with you"..... 😂so let's name it "Stukas". And again another wonderful video

@@chromofonic will do and thanks!
What are your thoughts on physical modelling synthesis as it uses much less RAM etc?
Very interesting question. I will address that question in a future video. Soon. In a nutshell, I currently favour a hybrid approach. i.e. using sampling in a physical modelling framework ;)
@@chromofonic I see(I think) but look forward to hearing your further thoughts on the topic.
Interesting video, made me laugh a lot. And I learned a lot. How did you script the video of the lens to the mod wheel?

oh no! is the kontakt library windows only?

"Here we are in Cubase 4... as you can see I like to keep myself up to date" 😂
Haha. I know. I have since upgraded so that others can follow. 😁👊
that trailer 🤣
