Back in the day were Quadraphonic sound systems where the music would dance from speaker to speaker. Steve Miller's "Fly Like an Eagle" album was also great on those.
When things sound like they're coming from behind you and far afield, it's due to the signal being out of phase. This is pre surround sound of course. It's actually quite easy to do. Trevor Horn, who produced Seal's albums is master of it
Crazy Train was a game changer so was Mr. crowley. Randy Fing Rhoads completely changed my view of a guitar player and thats was 1980-81 way ahead of his time
so lucky to be around back then when a lot of this was new and we jammed everywhere we went ....... speaking of stereophonic, when The Cars The Cars LP came out in 78 or 79 it was the 1st albumn I can remember that every single song was killer, every one -- you listen to Bye Bye Love end into the begining of Moving in Stereo -- F-ing masterpiece. We'd bong up and listen to that albumn over and over
played the live version of freebird on a cd juke box in a pool hall 5x in a row as i was leaving. i still wonder what the crowd thought when the 3rd one started playng.
I remember the first album I ever bought, was probably 10 years old. “deep purple, machine head” parents took me with them on vacation to perth amboy, New Jersey. Bought it at a department store called “two guys” . Smoke on the water … a fire in the sky . Lol
I think I’m the only person that doesn’t jock the Beatles not saying there not good fk me. Just not the ultimate fan. Now Led Zeppelin ultimate life long favorite band
I had to listen to the Beatles two or three times in my life before it clicked and I fell in love. Zeppelin, man I wanted to love Zeppelin forever. I like similar bands, and there’s so much great material if you like that stuff, but I could never get into it. For years lol, wasn’t until recently I finally started to hear what everybody else was hearing when Zeppelin started playing. Long story short, I’ve learned to love and appreciate both bands for what they offered.

I'm 70 and my playlist is all over the place: classical, Elvis, Motown, southern rock, but ends with hip hop. Like tattos and Starbucks $6 coffee. I just don't get it
It's a very simple C, D, G song. There are epic songs with just one chord. It's played with heart, that's why it's so good. If the solo was just one note it would've powerful if it was played with heart.
You left out F. It’s a 4 chord song, even that means nothing to me. I love people who say it’s an east solo and not once has anyone played it like collins did live. No one on RUclips comes close to his live performance. Several licks are altered or much slower. I’d love to see a freebird hater try to play that solo like collins
When I was 16 in 1982 and heard Freebird for the first time, I thought it was shite. Years later and listening as an adult I have to look back at my younger self and shake my head....in agreement. It's still shite.
Listen to the live version in Oakland Coliseum Stadium in 1977. They put on a crazy show with the Confederate flag behind them. It's probably one of the best concerts in the history of music and no one will be able to surpass them at least for a long period of time.
Zep II is classic!! Robert Plant's voice is Godly
Freebird solo still blows my mind

Great Video, 🥰💛 The Zeppelin Erra an Robert Plant!! 😘🎶 SO Fantastic!!😉💛🗽🗽
I recently stumbled across an indie band with a 70s sound. Cool name - Pot is Drugs - How to Talk to Girls.
Fool in the Rain is my favorite Zeppelin song
Allen Collins was 16 when he wrote that guitar solo for Freebird.
It's not terribly complex or technically difficult. He played it from the heart.
With all due respect, Allen was actually 18.
hes talkin about Q sound from the early 90s that gave impressions of sound coming from different spots.
