Hey Droneman love the video, you'll never guess what Droneman i used to live in Newhails before I came to Australia. I lived in the big house for ten years. I was the caretaker when Lady Antonio was there. I can tell you i shed many teers when i looked out of the rear window of the car when i was on my way to the airport, to come to Australia . It's amazing to see things from a different angle, and how the place has changed so much. I could tell you a few stories about that place. Hhhhoooo !!!!!! Please keep up the great work .😊
Thanks Derek, glad you enjoyed the video, it is a beautiful building, although I do feel that Historic Scotland could spend a bit more money on the property, some bits look really tired, thanks for your comments.
@@AScottishOdyssey Yes it is, but they occasionally have a day when you can just walk round at your own pace, its on a Sunday, unsure how many times a year they allow this, but it is only £5 to enter, their website might give you more information.
I’ve been looking forward to seeing you put this one together. I’d forgotten everything I’d said in the voiceover. Really interesting and it really came together well. Great to see a picture of Lady Antonia Dalrymple as well, I’d never seen what she looked like. The quality of your images has improved as whole as well, which is fab.
My childhood stomping ground. The grounds were used as a municipal dump, a real insult to its history, and happily no more. Great video, I am inspired to go for a wander about the grounds.
Welcome aboard, hopefully you enjoy the content. Our main video goes out at noon on a Friday with other little videos and shorts throughout the week. 👍
At the bottom front door under the stairways, there is a niche on both sides. It has oyster shells rendered into the walls. It was said, it was to keep out evil spirits?
great video and history lesson walked around the ground and inside the house on many times as it is only a 15min walk away great history lesson
Glad you enjoyed it, we must be near neighbours, I am about 10 minutes walk from the estate.

I've been to the Newhailes Estate, but I never had the chance to see inside the house. I'll have to go back for a revisit.
You should do, well worth the visit.
@@DronemanScotland It seems to be open for tours at 11am, seven days a week.

Glad you enjoyed it. I think the quality is down to the new software, true 4K when the video is rendered. 👍
