There use to be a small cotton mill where the Musselburgh job centre is. I remember sitting in my granddad's Hilman Imp waiting to pick up my granny after her shift was finished.
I remember the paper mills in Penicuik. A real blast from the past. When one of the girls from the mill was getting married her fellow millworkers would wheel her through the town in a wheelbarrow decorated with tissue paper.
Thanks, Droneman for taking the time to do these videos.
Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do.
Lots of interesting history. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Part 2 goes live at 2pm on Friday.

I have never come across this, bit more research needed I think. Aahh, the old Hillman Imp, brings back happy memories for me, thanks.
