great footage of another lost past
Glad you enjoyed it. When I was out filming, I got a wee tour of the former net mill building, you would not recognise it today. The only reminder are the the vaulted ceilings and pillars.
Another great vid and info
See you watched part 2 as well. I was thinking of combining the two and adding in some extra bits which never made it to the final cut, might be a wee winter project during the dark nights. 👍
Very professionally documented. Interesting and informative 👍 Great drone footage 👍 liked and subscribed 👍 😀
I am glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for the subscription.
hi,im sure your facts maybe right, but im sure the wire mill shut in febuary 1996, as i remember the redundancys where pushed through in november 1995.my whole family was made redundant, i was 1 of the last guys to leave,if you look at the picture in your film of the 3 guys walking out the factory gates im the 1 on the right.i love what your doing and great to see someome takes an interest in the old time to bring these memories back, thank for your time doing so.
Don't think you are the first person to mention about the year it closed. You are probably correct, I go on what I find during my research, and unfortunately, it might not be correct. I am glad you are enjoying the content and thanks for your comments and watching.
My Uncle worked in the wire mill and remember him get a nasty injury when the wire he was pulling snapped and he got a whiplash injury across his chest. No H&S in those days.
You just have to watch the video to see the lack of H&S.
Exactly why those who moan about 'Elf an Safety gawn mad' are idiots.
