So you’re blind by nostalgia then? It’s clear to see that this set hasn’t aged as well as the others models.
I think 2011 is the best since it builds on the design of 2004 and makes it more stable. It was so good that they actually reused it for 2015.
The only thing I will about 2004 version is that it has its charm.

This was my first big lego purchase, maybe the first set I bought with my own money back in 2005. I loved the build, and even made the alternate ship on the back. Lego used to have those alternate builds on the boxes all the time and I didn't know there might be instructions for them. I just built it by sight. I've since bought a few more UCS sets and recognize that there may be some dated techniques that make this set a bit less sturdy and detailed than it could be, but I don't think I can justify spending $800 on a set

They need to remake this set, Same interior, But modernized, Same Features But Modernized,
Fix the issues, Such as: The radar dish, The panels, How unsturdy it is, And the Landing Gear.
Keep in the design for the turret control area, its a great design, but modernize it.
Recess The cockpit, Make the ''Wings'' Wider.
    Upgrade the minifigures.
And boom you have the best star wars set.

So a few weeks later i convinced my parents to buy half of it and i was to put the other half. Itself is certainly dated compared with today’s sets. But, the art work on these sets is still amazing today! And what about those alternative builds. Why did Lego stop including those suggestive builds? I think I know. But how better to get kids and some adults thinking beyond the instruction manual.

Coincidentally, Ryan, when Stephen reviewed this set for The Brick Show, he shared similar sentiments as you - a lot of pieces seem to fall off really easily.
Younger kids - 1 (A lot of cool pieces, and C-3PO in light gold. But they won't be able to put it together, and if they play with it, one drop and it is destroyed. They'll think the Emperor had his way if a kid dropped it one time.)
Older kids - 4 (They won't have fun playing with it, because things will fall off all the time.)
Adults - 6 (They will enjoy putting it together. It's a challenge to put together, but fun. And a lot of cool details from the movies in the set. So if just for display as a collector's item, then they might get some value out of it.)

MandRproductions, I do have the same problem with the little panel on the front, it does stick but if you touch it in the slightest it will fall off. Even when I bought the set brand new a few months back. Also another problem is the ramp, on what is connected to it all ways breaks off when you pull on the side, and I lost one of the tools (just bought another one) but this one is my favourite millennium falcon.

I like this Millennium Falcon, I bought it from my Uncle for $75. Now I’m missing the 1999, 2007 (UCS), and 2010, then I have completed it:) can’t wait for the new one too!

Anybody else realize that this set comes with 2 different snow troopers? One has black hands with a old torso print, one has the snow trooper with gray hands and the newer torso print. Complete toss up as to which figure you recieved as to original trilogy box or blue box. The instructions only reflect the black hands one, which made me have a stroke when I was looking for the figures to sell this set.

Just got it on eBay misb for $299. I think that’s a pretty good deal. I have the 2011 falcon too but it’s in pretty bad condition since it has been transported from me moving houses many times. I’m excited to get this set.

Other than the Episode 9 version coming next month, the classic MF has changed very little from 2004 up until now.

I still love my 2011, I've modified it to have s flatter profile and a few minor details, in my opinion it's still the best
