Fiato sospeso e brividi assicurati. .
the local glass fibre repair shop guys must roll up to work in rolls royce cars
A majority of a sailing boats there are actually a rent ones (1/3 of the world sailing fleet is placed in that area),
which make those tasks for a part time captains even harder a lot of them overestimate their own skills.
Hahahah
Lol
They’re the ones that designed the channel to be only 2 feet wide
They're probably the same people who stipulated the width of this channel.
Pretty impressive helmsmanship, especially the first sail boat.
the third guy said screw it and pinballed through. lol.
I am the Skipper of the blue yacht. It was nice!
you did a great job actually, hat down
@@endangeredanimal5749
Wow gorgeous yacht , what is it ! Great skill btw where is this crazy entrance?
Im leaving right now for a race on San Francisco bay ! My marina entrance has a bar on it which in my experience in much more dangerous, I can ever seem to get past the bar without me and my crew taking some damage.......to our livers🕺
Well done
@Jakob what rubbish
@Jakob Perhaps if they are running for worse conditions. However, a powerful responsive electric bow thruster like the blue yacht seems to have had is a huge benefit, especially if it was computer controlled to wallow a straight line. :)
Me and my kayak gonna make that look like the Suez canal incident.
Niiiiiice
Definitely Sam :o))
I alway thought the Suez Canal was wider than that no wonder that supertanker got stuck!!!
lol it is this is just for small boats
Lmfao
Mali Lošinj is a town on Croatian island of Lošinj, in Adriatic Sea. It has a large natural harbor. Channel is a shortcut to get to the harbor.
Running the gauntlet! Gotta come in at high speed to maintain steering way and reduce the wallow from the sea, takes balls!
and a whole lot of fenders!
high speed, great damage
Done a similar thing with bigger following sea, about the same width under the water before keel impact, but a couple of feet of water on top of the rock on each side so you can't even see properly where it is, full throttle and working the wheel like a drift kiddie, and unlike that one, right angle 90 left after the entrance, off the throttle at JUST the right moment and full lock, then straighten and relax :-D fun, but nerves of steel definitely required :-D
What have ‘balls’ got to do with this?
@@jeremypyner8593 It's an expression, women can have that type of balls too, if that's the weird angle you were going on. Same exact expression in Spanish: No tienes cojones = you're a coward.
Might start a panel and paint shop there
No kidding. Tough for a sailboat.
I can tell you it’s infinitely harder to bring a sailboat through that than the same size powerboat
...when you get a round of applause for not hitting the wall......
Maravilhoso e para quem é de família de velejadores um desafio gratificante e lindo. Adorei !!!
This is great video, thx. fr sharing and keep going , greetings from Canada ✌🍁💕👌
Ovo je sjajan video, thx. za podijelu istog i nastavite, pozdrav iz Kanade ✌🍁💕👌
That second, white, yacht was making some alarming angles
you loose steering with that much of a tail current, its like balancing a small ball on a bigger ball
Hit at least once, maybe twice...
Beautiful!
The Italian counterpart to the Haulover inlet :D
It is Croatia.
@@gorankapor1926 Never mind he is American
Haulover isn't that bad, its just the tools that go through it.
This is worse than Haulover. No room for error.
@@gorankapor1926 until we come back :) as friends
Threading the needle ... in high wind to boot! RESPECT!
I was going this channel once. You get sucked through it by the current. It's really scarry. Our skipper said, that's actually not so difficult. You just have to make sure to enter at the right angle and not to stear too much once you are in.
The first sail boat captain was well ahead of his boat, great helmsmanship. The second sail boat captain was chasing the controls, hence hitting the bank several times.
Esos pilotos, que son unos máquinas... Bravo
I'll have a pint of what the guy in the last boat is drinking !!!!!!!
That's some supreme helmsmanship right there.
For a number of years, I wintered in a port with a narrow entrance channel like this, though I never had to cope with quite the swells and current as this one. On a sailboat, one has to come in at full power at max speed or you're done. 1:52 Looks a bit like PIO's (pilot induced oscillations). A tiller is so much easier in this situation (which I had on my 30-footer).
You are absolutely right! With steering wheel you loose information where the rudder is currently pointed + they take more time to change direction. Thumbs down for steering wheels
@@Bakanellionly if you don’t know what you’re doing
I think if I had a sail boat I’d put the tiller handle on. It’d be way more responsive then a huge steering wheel.
Quante volte son passato da lì, che ricordi e che manovra il velista!
Don't be gentle, it's a rental ;)
is this slack tide? im assuming it is since everyone is rushing to get in. Id hate to see that tiny channel during peak rise or ebb.
mamma mia ho i brividi.........
Great video
01:50 Imagine the fear they did go through😱
Yes why the fuck would someone go through that in a weather like that?!

They could have taken the longer route and avoid the canal in this weather. Though if it's a rental they probably don't care.
What a f-ed up place that is, real ingenuity designed that place1 Wouldn't want to buy a used boat from there.
A majority of a sailing boats are actually a rent ones, which make those tasks for a part time captains even harder a lot of them overestimate their own skills
About buying a 2nd hand boat: It is actually one of the best places in the world to buy a sailing boat because they have almost 1/3 of a world sailing charter fleet, the prices are good.
The Osor Channel was built by the Romans.
Dale you gotta be either American or Australian right?
@@claywebb8199 I'd say he's more stupid than anything else.
@@kixigvak it's not the Osor channel, it's the channel at Mali Losinj. The Osor channel is wider.
Grande manovra il velista 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
They are fenders if you don’t need them and bumpers if you do?
Who built this Channel? Where is the brakewater on the enter?
third one had me sweating. that canal is way too narrow.
Show the inside of the harbor please
Simple as a camle passes through the eye of a needle.
Gerard.
Nerve breaking😬😳
I think I can cross there with my kayak! :)
👍
They could have just gone 10 miles south and and then back up north the same distance, and avoided what might have been thousands of dollars of repair work. Would also be interesting to compare the hull and keel design of the two sailboats. This was off the coast of Croatia.
Who knows, what is this place?
italian bravo, bravo, brafakolomisimo

Those ppl filming and waiting for a disaster that they can post on Facebook.

You couldn’t have this in the United States there be so many rules and regulations laws and guidelines and a toll gate at each end
Dude I needed that laugh 😆🤣😂😹. 🙏
Ma allargare qualche metro il canale no?
Guess they cannot afford to widen it?
It's not about whether we can afford it or not, for that great idea of yours a new bridge has to be made and that'd mean cutting off entire island from the means to travel to the shore like ferry or state road. If you close this part to "widen it" for even a day, hell would break loose and knowing how our state takes their sweet time for even most urgent fixes, it'd mean cutting all transportation of people and food for at least six months.
Thank you, your comment was a brilliant idea.
P.S. If you're just an amateur skipper who wants to show off, don't try to pass here. No one has ever complained for having to pass this route in the last 100 years
One toast for the engineers!
🤔dove sarebbe il brivido
Man that is something!
Bellissimo 👍 new friend
Nice of all the people to gather for the afternoon to see which boat will bite the wall..🥴 I guess not much else to do in that town.
People are watching because traffic is stopped when the bridge was raised for the boats. And no one ever crashed. Bigger boats and those unsure go longer route around the island
The first two boats nailed ,,,not easy at all in a yacht which the 3rd boat demonstrated hitting the sides of the canal 2,or 3 times I’d hate that 2 be my ho:e port if that’s t(e damage you are likely to get just getting in out of the harbour
Bho manne vale la pena ?
I'm surprised they don't have a sail up even just little, that really calms down a sailboat. I don't know what the draft is there and these boaters did look experienced to me. Just a thought.
Lol have the sail upWhile trying to go to the bridge yet maybe 10 foot 12 at the max stay on your couch you don’t know what you’re talking about
Look at their flags. They have the wind right on the stern.
looks like the best approach to this is to have minimum bumpers .
people is so mean that they expect the ships crash :- (
Cool, and watch out on this place when you getting in this.
Looks like Cr🌞atia....
A breakwater is needed to protect the channel.
Not exactly Haulover Inlet, but interesting.
There was more than one good smack on the walls there
that channel could be a bit wider..
This looks like menorca
I coulda nailed that wimma eyes closed
Oh hell, I ran it under full sail.
Locals should put fenders along sides
Can't wait for slack tide, nooo.
What tide are you referring to? This is the Adriatic, no tidal difference of importance really.
@@jansenki4025 The current. Or is that a river?
