    2 hours, but done
all i can say is it is not `complex` at all, but just time consuming, other than a few folds, a few intricate ones, most folds are really really simple and can be done by an intermediate folder, just that theres quite a lot of them.
i did it from a 20cmx20cm square, thats the minimum you should go for, the bigger the better.
and the only tip i can give, which i believe is the only tip you need-
*use a thin paper but a very durable one*
the wings were actually kinda hard tbh, but its still very doable.
dont use paper smaller than 20cmx20cm, dont go for thick paper, dont go for weak papers,
and be sure to keep your fingers and hand extremely dry to prevent ripping in parts like tail spikes, or fingers
do not get intimidated by the video duration or the `complex` difficulty it has been rated with.
and with all of that being said, Jo, this model is absolutely scintillating, nothing to say, the extremely subtle folds which lead to such great results, awesome, i was especially amazed by how you devised the method for the fingers and eyes, i was kinda surprised to see the first few folds, although it was clear it had something to do with the head, but it turns out, those fingers too!
great, great model man, never have you failed to amaze me, supremely great creativity, i can never praise it enough.
and how can i forget the crystal clear instructions and how perfectly youve folded it, picture perfect.
the instructions were so good, no one can go wrong, very very well written subtitles, and the diagrams make it exponentially easier, the subtitles also provide certain details which might be hard to convey through the video or diagrams, everything fits in like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle and end up giving the most wonderful results, amazing, amazing, amazing job.

+Jakub Krajewski (Origaming) I just finished the model and it looks awesome. For those who will want to try and make it: don't be afraid, it looks complicated but it's not that difficult. And I can confirm that with paper any less than 40 cm X 40 cm some sequences are tricky (but still doable) as they require quite detailed folding.
      Regards,
      Jakub Krajewski

Very good tutorial, mostly very easy, it was only because of the size of my paper that it took much more time than expected. Still, fun to do nonetheless, and the base was basically the same as your original Devil Dragon, which I made a couple of days ago, so that really helped. I've been watching you since aroundddddddd 2012 iirc??? And I used to be a huge origami nerd, and I recently got back into it, so thank you a lot for your awesome tutorials and I really really appreciate the diagrams too, keep it up man

It's since it has both real and imaginary parts. It's real since you can fold a real one with origami paper, but also imaginary since you'll just have to imagine that yours looks as good as his.

Thank you for the awesome guide!
I followed it through to folding the neck, then starting to encounter a serious problem: The base of the dragon keeps spreading out I can't find a way to keep the left and right legs reasonably staying together. Is there any tips for keeping the shape of the dragon like in your video?

    • @jonakashima
      @jonakashima  8 лет назад +7

+Alexander Y. Chen Thanks! Yes, I have a few tips:
      1) use a larger sheet of paper
      2) use a thin paper that keep the creases well (i.e. tissue foil)
      3) wet-fold if you have suitable paper (like elephant hide)
      4) use a paper clips inside of it

    • @fizban007

I finished the dragon. Its really cool, and a good design for beginners. This was my first origami model after not folding for about 6 or 7 months, and I am happy with how it turned out.
