So true! When I started, I did everything for me. I enjoyed it and had a great time. I started growing at a nice pace, and my first thought was, "I need to be more like the big buys to keep growing". So I did that. The growth continued, but my reason for starting and my love for doing it fell way behind. I wasn't me anymore, and my outlet started feeling like my day job. Now I have re-shifted my focus to just being me and having fun. Thus RUclips now rewards me with other smaller creators who are doing awesome things. Glad your video showed up in my feed today.
Appreciate you sharing insight from your journey, Chad! I think it's clear from watching many well known RUclipsrs "quit" over the last 6-12 months: this is a creative journey that can lead to burn out if not approached thoughtfully and sustainably. Cheers to you on your journey! Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
@@tylerjkeenan I agree and I see why they have been quitting or taking breaks. I've seen it in cycles over the years. Everyone chased Casey, then Peter, Mr. Beast, etc.. When you keep playing a character you are not, eventually you get tired of playing that role. I'm just glad the era of retention editing is coming to a close haha
@@tylerjkeenan for sure! I can't take full credit for that though, Jim Carey said something along those lines in an interview he did. It hit me right in the feels.
You're not alone. I've been flailing at this RUclips thing for almost 10 years now. You might get some value out of my video titled "Why I'll Never Succeed at RUclips" - in that one, I delve much deeper into some of the challenges that've kept me from committing to this wholeheartedly. Let me know if that video resonates. Thanks for watching and the comment. Good luck on your journey!
I totally resonate with the courage to be disliked conversation. That is probably my biggest struggle. I rock back and forth between caring too much about being liked and not caring at all. Finding the middle ground is where I think a functional foundation can be built.
Nice to hear that someone can relate; thanks for sharing. I completely understand that shifting between the extremes of caring vs. not caring at all. In areas of my life where I've developed confidence and efficacy, I'm completely unphazed by the judgement of others. But with a creative endeavor like RUclips... I know I'm not good yet. That's hard for me, because my skill sets aren't good enough to actualize the work as it looks in my head. But I understand it's part of the process, so I surf the wave and try to make small progress. Good luck to you!
Fantastic Tyler! I’m apart of Dan Koe’s 2HW as well and you helped me breakdown his framework a bit more. I appreciate that. No void here man. New subscriber!
It's my first time to watch your video. I gotta say that it's a great video. The content is good, and because your voice is so clear, it is very easy to understand. I guess increasing frequency of uploading videos may help you grow your channel dramatically.
I’m really digging your channel man! You’ll see me around more often. Glad YT recommended your video about RUclips ruining your life to me! Your vulnerability is inspiring. I might have to start incorporating a bit more of this
Omg! RUclips sensed me to you (if that sentence is correct), I created a video about "My Niche is me, I am my own niche" 😅😅😅 Such great valuable channel I have clicked and subscribed to.

@@ChadEveryday "When you keep playing a character you are not, eventually you get tired of playing that role." - Perfectly articulated. Thanks Chad.

Keep it going Tyler! Great perspective here.
Appreciate you, Matt! And back at you, keep at it. 💪🏻
So true.. I tried 2-3 times to make it consistent bud I stoped making videos again and again.. You inspired me.. Thanks..

YT recommended your “ruining my life” video. I’m a Dan Koe fan too. Currently in his boot camp. Are you?
Hi Lisa! Not in the bootcamp. Hope that's going great for you, curious to hear what you take away.
