I remember listening to Hellfire and not loving it at first, but reading the lyrics along with it really made it click with me. Of course Black Midi and Greep are amazing musically and technically but they find their magic in the lyrics and stories being told. The best example I can think of is "Dangerous Liaisons", the music reacts to the lyrics in such a well crafted way. Greep is truly one of the most talented musicians of his generation fr
@@zynel413 You articulated it better than I ever could. I was at this show, you can see me in some clips. The energy was just beyond indescribable, but I think this video really captures how it felt: the constant feeling of awe in the crowd, the pumping of emotions like energy throughout the room, and the intimacy. Truly revolutionary!

Am I crazy for thinking this is very reminiscent of Genesis' The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway album? Not just the instrumentals, but his cadence and tone sounds like Phil Collins to me.
The fact that he doesn’t praise the modern production abilities & technologies which have come throughout this century shows he has missed the point of Steely Dan. They were striving for almost exactly the production value which has been made so easy in the modern day.
Comparison is the thief of joy, indeed. Although the influences are on his sleeve, he sounds like no other in my opinion. Crimson influence is there, so is a lot of post punk. Love his blends of fusion, lots of chick corea vibes from this album so far. Excited for Friday when this drops.
@@cinemaspire7258 When you see many people drawing a comparison between an artist to a few legacy artists, they're actually expressing a form of compliment itself because they recognize the artistic parallel and energy to the legacy artists they're fan of. To write an album like this at 25 years of age with this level of artistic self-confidence is practically parody.

🍀 ☘️ u luckyyyyyyyyy baaastard!!
His sound is the actual perfect level of weird. Very talented and good ass tunes.
might be delusional but i think i like this live version more than the OG mix, both r great but this is exceptional and feels almost unsettling
i prefer the studio version but this live version is quite amazing !!
Agreed. Vocals are mixed in way too low in the studio version for my liking
atmosphere on this version is unmatched
vocals are better but i need those horns man
This drummer is phenomenal

Mr Greep I cannot wait I am so excited for your music
I was at this show and I was dancing like a maniac. The chemistry between the band members was absolutely amazing

Incredible
Jazz, poetry, Prog and classical had a baby
His lyrics are fantastic, his band sounds awesome and super tight, and the music is so adventurous. I hope I can catch them on tour sometime soon!

You really can see how Geordie has matured. He always looked very young but now he looks like THE MAN
i feel so lucky to have seen this live omg
This is so insanely impressive, more pumped than ever for the album!
This is phenomenal.
This is great but, crying out load, why is there no camera trained specifically on the drummer?!
The guy is very good. Not as powerful as Morgan, but quite groovy as well.
I’m just happy the bassist got a camera that’s rare
Truly mindblown. Incredible performance
greep spittin some factors here 🔥

Got to see them live in Brooklyn, the backing band he had for the US tour was TBE

this sounds jazzy.. does this guy like jazz? i cant tell...
Hold on…. U might be onto smth here🤨
Absolutely, chick corea is all over his recent stuff. Morgan from black midi says they were all jazz kids.
Would be nice if people could compliment the music without comparing it to other legends!

@TheChasedanger true, but it just seems too many Greep fans are more interested in showing they can identify the influence

This kinda reminds me of The Mars Volta and some Al Di Meola stuff from the 70s. I love it.
Vocal stylings are very much like Bob Dorough in this one. Other times it as if Donald Fagan and Zappa collaborated with most input coming from Fagan.
