I’m so excited about this video. I use to love my momma’s chicken and dumplings. She offered to teach me, I was young and thought that I had forever to learn. Then she passed. I wish that I had listened when she was trying to teach but now I have you. I’ve never tried cooking chicken and dumplings because it is intimidating from cookbooks. I buy that brand of dry buttermilk. Our stores here in Upstate NY only sell buttermilk by the quart, and I've never needed that much. I would have to toss the rest down the sink drain. This brand of buttermilk works very well in recipes, too.

Darlin' I've been making dumplin' s for a long time..., Sshhh 🤔I'll be 82 next month. 👍 Yeah, anyhow I've never had my dumplings turn out doughy. I start out with the broth boiling HARD then I drop about a little spoonful of the prepared dough in the broth.... Aaaaah ❗ don't touch em til they POP up outta the liquid 😂they will, I promise, yeah, then you can nudge em over. Put a lid on the pot til the dumplin's are done. It ain't hard to tell. If I am in a hurry I use flour tortillas shells for the dumplings. I cut them in strips, add to the pot cook for 10 minutes. It is good.
