Good review Bob. I'm about to get forscore, hense my watching your tutorial, as I'm very dissatisfied with Newzik. Anyone reading this, don't waste your time with Newzik. Forscore sounds much better. Good work Bob, very honest and balanced review.

14:05 - Yes, that square is for album artwork. I always carefully prescribe all the basic metadata in mp3 files, including the covers I often make myself, to make sure they are the best fit for my purposes. I shared a link to a screenshot of one of my examples of this in my comment on Reddit in the thread where you posted the link to this video.

I’d like to see a half page turn included. Also updating the audio file, you know, a better mix, to replace audio and preserve existing page turns.

11:04 - I'm amazed that the developer still hasn't fixed this bug that I reported him about several years ago, when the current version was 11. The bug is that these notches are inaccurate only when multiple audio files are attached to the score. When only one audio file is attached, the notches are accurate.
I'm disappointed that the developer hasn't fixed the problem for so many years. I found out that the bug still exists from your video, because I myself still use the version 11.2.5, as this version suits me completely, and in newer versions there are a number of things I don't like.

Thanks for the video (which looks just fine here). I rarely have a page turn but could see how useful this would be when I do. I use the linked audio a lot as I play piano for English country dancing & practice along with music that I’ve live recorded with voice memo. The quality is actually quite good. Another feature of this that I would think a singer might like is the pitch control so they can change the key of a song somewhat. Depending on the recording quality after changing pitch it can sound quite good for practicing.

The replay functionality is really cool. It almost perfect if you play on iPad on vertical view with half page turns on… One thing I think it’s not perfect is that the replay actions should be linked to a given display orientation and zoom

Thanks for the video! Love Forscore! I would like to create a streaming video for my online piano students with Forscore as part of the screen (like in your video). Would you mind sharing how you did it? Do you have a PC or a mac? Can't seem to find a way on my PC.

Sucks that it doesn't do it the other way around - changes the audio position when you change the page manually

My 9 year old daughter and I are first year piano players. My needs are limited (today) to wanting a practice tool that can read sheet music and slow down temp and loop sections.
I fear most of forScore will over complicate vs. our very basic needs. Would you suggest this or other software ?

Perhaps Anytune pro, although overwhelming at first sight for its multiple options. But you can have different sections on an audio file, loop them, use midi or pedal shortcuts…

Cool features but I want to re-dock the audio bar on the top or sides, it's in the way of the bottom row of the chart. When I'm learning a new song I have to click play, then click the screen, the lift the audio bar again to stop or rewind, etc. It's a total pain in the ass. If the bar was at the top, I wouldn't have to hide it. Ugh :(

True. There is an option to add play/pause button right on top of the chart which might be better for you? But for sure some more customisability would be great

@@bobdrums Thanks, it helps a little. I also heard you can use a foot pedal to Start/Stop/Pause, etc. I'll be checking that out soon.

If you play a piano with midi connection, you can set up midi shortcuts in the piano in order to forscore to play pause and rewind the audio, taking into account the replay page turns. It’s cool
