This was my first Dave Grohl interview. I watched it during my Nirvana obsession out of curiousity and fell in love. Now I am totally obsessed with Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters :) yay youtube
I AGREE!! 18 YEARS LATER..STILL ON THE RISE..ON THE FINAL DAYS.. IN GENERATIONS TO COME..WE WILL ALL SEE THE MAGICAL INFLUENCE OF A GOOD HEART AND GREAT MUSIC.. !!...watch a few interviews,... your heart will melt..your ears will listen newly... the screaming will be listened to with a HUGE SMILE ON YOU FACE... you will understand ....there is a universal collective consiousness on the rise..LOVE of FOO will prevail!!..mark my words... everyone else was just the beginning....
Can't get enough of Grohl, the man is amazing. who else has legacy in the music industry as strong and influential as his? Nirvana, Tenacious D, Foo Fighters, Queens of The Stonage, and Them Crooked Vultures. you rock Grohl!
Yep, Andrew Denton is one of the greatest interviewers on earth. People love being interviewed by him because yeah, he DOES do his research and he asks questions that are human that get people to talk about who they are, and not just what they do. He actually loves the Foos as well ;)
@neutron54 It's backstage ryder, basically a band will list out specific things they want provided at venues before they get there and venue staff provide it for them eg: drinks, food, whatever.
This guy will last longer than Mick Jagger ever will. This guy has earned more awards, trophies, and the Foo Fighters have sold more than the Rolling Stones have. Not to mention Nirvana's album sales. Now stop whining about what he said and just listen to whatever the fuck you want to listen to. Everyone has their opinion but you don't have to be a dick about it.
the "Godlike Genius" was voted for by artists like Paul McCartney, Josh Homme, John Paul Jones, Lemmy, etc, but what would they no about music? If you can watch this interview and still think that Dave Grohl is a hack, and that a band that has been going for 20 years and is still playing to 80,000 people at a show will be forgotten in 10 years you are seriously deluded. The stones were a shadow of their former self after 20 years, whereas the Foo fighters are still rising to greater heights.
Andrew Denton. He asks insightful questions and actually LETS the subject answer the question without interrupting like that annoying fuckwit Howard Stern.
Wow. Dave really touched a nerve with his comments about Jagger. How long have the Strolling Bones been going for? 147 years? LMFAO !!!!! Have the Strolling Bones produced many classic in the last 25 years? lol.
WTF he said about Jagger, "dude just retire" why, his music will be long remembered when this guy is long forgotten. Also jagger and the stones still do great live shows and if grohl could write just one song half as good as most stones songs he'd be doin' well. Which foo song or nirvana song is even a fraction as good as brown sugar, jumpin jack flash, sympathy for the devil etc etc etc? Not one
You’re comparing apples to oranges. Classic rock vs. alternative rock. Both are great in their own right. 16 Grammy Awards. 2 time hall of famer. Sorry bud…he’ll be remembered for a long time.
@@jacklantern4337 As for all the awards, lets be honest here, there's not much competition out there. For the most part music has died a serious death after the 90s. I like some of his stuff, but they'll never be as big as the Stones
Dave was spot on about the whole image obsession amongst musicians today, I mean look at Lady Gaga and her ilk and most "rock'' bands today look as though they spend just as much time on theirs
Knowing that he has a daughter now, the comment at 8:23 would be taken with a double-barreled shotgun and a Rambo/Liam Nesson from "Taken" bloodlust...
Only person to go platinum with three different bands! Nirvana (Drummer), Foo Fighters (Drummer, Vocalist, Guitarist), and Queens of the Stone Age (Drummer on the first album)!!!
LJY08 Yeah, he's a total prick. The same prick demanded to meet and have drinks with the miners who asked for an iPod with the Foo Fighters on it when they were trapped underground for days on end.
This is the best interview he’s ever done.
i could listen to him talk all day . i love him & love his passion for music
This was my first Dave Grohl interview. I watched it during my Nirvana obsession out of curiousity and fell in love. Now I am totally obsessed with Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters :) yay youtube
There needs to be more people like Grohl. He is such an inspiration to all rock musicians!
My favourite Dave Grohl interview ever. Thank you for sharing.
Still one of my most favorite Dave interviews.
Great interviewer and even better interviewee... Great to finally see an interview that doesn't feel like a slow death...

6:25 he saw his future except he finished playing the show he started.
I didn't know it was this possible to love Dave Grohl.
Grohl is the man. end of story. best person in music nowadays.
gaahh i love him so much! he really is the coolest dude ever
Can't get enough of Grohl, the man is amazing. who else has legacy in the music industry as strong and influential as his? Nirvana, Tenacious D, Foo Fighters, Queens of The Stonage, and Them Crooked Vultures. you rock Grohl!
I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove his smile!!
I love that "so many bands take themselves so seriously."
looks good to me too! and so down-to-earth...what a wonderful thing. thanks for the vid!
This is the best interviewer I've ever seen. So chiled. They could be speaking this way in a bar.
dave..one of my heroes

@neutron54 It's backstage ryder, basically a band will list out specific things they want provided at venues before they get there and venue staff provide it for them eg: drinks, food, whatever.
if only he'd known then how (half way) right he was going to be about the breaking his legs thing...
a tip : you can watch series at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching loads of movies lately.
@Dante Kaiser Definitely, I have been using flixzone} for months myself :D
love this interview sooo funny

The thing I love about dave groll is that he is so unpretentious. Oh and he's a great musician too.
fucking love this guy
The funny thing is he ended up doing double duty to play with Jagger on SNL and opened for the Stones once.
oh thank you xxx
primal scream therapy lol
1.24 cracks me up
By the way, this was directed at Antipodean33, I agree with Timo Van Den Heuvel.
Just to clear any misunderstanding. ;-)
If there is one person I would like to meet before I die, it's that guy.
@neutron54 He says 'rider.' As in where they are backstage, where you hear about people who have M&Ms and get all the yellow ones taken out.

@All Eyes On You Yeah good catch, but youtube does not allow me to edit it.
@Baseballnat3 Songs for the Deaf wasn't QOTSA's first album though. Just saying.
this guy is really good at interviewing! haha
Andrew Denton. He asks insightful questions and actually LETS the subject answer the question without interrupting like that annoying fuckwit Howard Stern.
u lucky bastard :P nice one
Wow. Dave really touched a nerve with his comments about Jagger. How long have the Strolling Bones been going for? 147 years? LMFAO !!!!! Have the Strolling Bones produced many classic in the last 25 years? lol.
LOL Enough Rope. Two Foo songs rolled into one!
yea its my ocd also. hey at least were not flipping light switches on and off all fucking day
pity, as he's one of the best interviewers in the world - voted by peers.
I want this man to have my babies, and im a man.
FRESH POTS!!!!
what does he say before "as is customary modern times"?
8:07 LMAO!

For what reason?
Hey people, I`m too stoned to write a decent comment, maybe next time.
Only person to go platinum with three different bands! Nirvana (Drummer), Foo Fighters (Drummer, Vocalist, Guitarist), and Queens of the Stone Age (Drummer on the first album)!!!
carfardic?
ROFL!
Haha. I guess so.
oh Really... please give us an example of his stupid questions. i would love to know what youre on about.
i love this man and his look now but back then his thick moustache made him look like luigi :L
I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that a Republican Speech writer couldn't afford to support his family :-)
LJY08 Yeah, he's a total prick. The same prick demanded to meet and have drinks with the miners who asked for an iPod with the Foo Fighters on it when they were trapped underground for days on end.
LJY08 You trolled yourself.

i say the best member of nirvana didnt die
Tries to make out he doesn't care about popularity and sales, "I do it for the musiiicc mann!". What a terrible person.
Guy is worth $250m and lives in Encino.
