I have a 13000 rpm version. Much of it works the same as your helpful video. One difference is that to calibrate the tachometer and speedo you hold the left button down as you switch on the power. You get a number comes up like 035 21 . The 035 is a factor for the speed and the 21 is the revs. A long push on the left button progresses through the digits and a short push on the same button changes the selected digit. To stop the fuel gauge flashing you need a small voltage on the fuel gauge wire. This might just work for my cheapest one I could find version.. or it might work for others as well. Good luck.
@@waynewarwick3055 I did this by trial and error. I guessed a number and then compared the reading against a known speed. I used a strobe light on the rear wheel, but it would be easier to just drive at a known speed. this tells you that you are out by a certain factor, say 2 times or .75 for example. With this information you can adjust your constant to seek a closer result. Then try again. repeat, etc until your reading is true against whatever you are using as a reference. I think it is : the higher the constant, the higher the speedo reads. But I might have this the wrong way round. It was a while ago now that I did it. Good luck.

Factor is for the stroke of the engine. Its basically a devider. You can switch through the options and will get the correct rpm. If you have a 2 cyl or 4 cyl it will make no difference it's the devider that converts the number of cycles to display the rpm correctly
This is mostly incorrect. Yes, a 2 stroke vs 4 stroke engine will have more vs less ignition pulses per revolution. However a 4 cylinder 4 stroke engine will have the same number of ignition pulses per revolution as a 2 cylinder 2 stroke. The fact that there are 3 options for the "factor" also indicates that this mode does not simply apply to either 2 or 4 stroke engines - otherwise there would be only 2 options. Another thing to consider is that a multiple cylinder engine with only 1 coil will have more ignition pulses than multiple cylinder engine with multiple coils over plugs. Simple solution - cycle through the 3 options till you find one that works.

Hello . I have installed the speedo and everything work except i cant access the LC mode to set the speedo parameters. The only wire i could not find a home for is marked EE on the Chinese instructions . Press the l/h button while in trip mode and nothing happens . Any ideas . Bob
Could be you have a different model. There's another that looks the same but works differently. If holding the (I think) right button while turning it on gets you into a programming mode then this video doesn't work for your model.
I have a 2 stroke 50cc bike, when I put it in 0 mode it reads the idle at 8000rpm(my bike has about a 2500 idle), when I put it in 1 it reads about right but when I Rev over 6000 the rpm on the thacometer start go down. I don't know why
I should imagine that since the tacho works by ignition pulse it would work on a 2 stroke but since a 2 stroke uses twice as many ignition pulses per revolution I'd suggest by setting the engine type to double the amount of cylinders you actually have. For example, if it is 1 cylinder engine, set the tacho to 2 cylinder. I don't see why this wouldn't work fine.
There is a wire that must be connected to a permanent +12v source. This keeps the memory of the clock. This could be directly connected to the battery if you wanted but don't forget to use an in line fuse if you use this method. Otherwise, any permanent +12v source will work. I found a +12v wire on my scooter that was unused (presumably for a feature my scooter did not have),it was an empty plug, I was able to use that.

Sorry, I made this video a few years ago now. I suppose they're still available on all the websites that sell this kind of thing. I don't remember specifically which site I bought it from.
This is all wiring issues. Wiring is a bit of a tricky subject because it'll be different on every bike. If you're getting no RPM or speed I'd suggest checking your wiring against the wiring diagram included for the speedo against that of your bike to make sure it's all correct. One trick with the fuel gauge/light if you didn't have a gauge originally on your bike is to simply earth the wire for the fuel gauge (from the speedo) this will make the speedo show full fuel all the time (regardless of how much fuel you actually have) and turn off the low fuel light.

I don't think it would. I understand it that it has modes for 1,2 and 4 cylinder engines. That would also cover 2 stroke 1 or 2 cylinder engines. However there is no 3 or 6 cylinder option. I think it would give the wrong tachometer reading.

Yes, the number of "pulses" is usually the number of magnets attached to the wheel.
