  • myenergi libbi - Intelligent Home Battery Storage
    Derek Reilly from Nevo takes a look at the myenergi libbi which stands for "lithium ion better battery intelligence".
    IMPROVE ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND REDUCE ENERGY BILLS
    libbi is…
    A modular home battery storage system that adapts to your needs. myenergi created libbi to store your electricity, to use it when you need it most. It allows you to capture as much surplus solar electricity as possible, whilst integrating with your existing myenergi devices.
    libbi is modular by design. Each module can store up to 5kWh of electricity, so combining 4 of them together would provide up to 20kWh of storage.
    Manage, maximise and monitor your energy in one place.
    The myenergi app seamlessly connects to all of your myenergi devices, giving you full control and access from anywhere in the world. View battery state of charge, choose where your stored power goes around the home and more!

    There is a also a foot for the unit if you want to raise it off the floor or ensure its level when your floor is not. You can connect the units together with ethernet for longer distances. The inverter and battery is IP rated but the control unit is not. Warranty on inverter is 5 years. The stats are realtime and the software integratiion is the main reason to consider this option.

    We had the whole MyEnergy package installed last Nov with solar and it’s great. I know the Giveenergy system does similar but we decided on My energy. To be able to store the spare solar and use when needed is great and now that the daylight is improving we are powering about 50% of our home without call on the grid. Saving us a lot of money. Mind you it’s expense to install and the payback period massively long so you have to take a wider view of playing your part in the whole climate issue. Glad we’ve got involved though.

      David, I'm thinking of going down the same route as you for the same reasons. How big is your system & approximately what is the payback period (if you don't mind me asking) ?

    • @dbas2
      @dbas2 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@GC987 We have a 10kwhr Libbi, 5kw inverter and 14 panel, 6kw solar array. We are expecting to save about £800-1000pa, time will tell, so that’s a 20-26 yr payback period. One thing to note that I have found everyone else knew but I didn’t before buying, is that the Libbi has to exchange energy with the grid to stay connected and working. This means that we loose approx 1kwhr everyday to this. This is a problem that MyEnergy is trying to solve as it’s just a waste of saving. I can’t speak for other batteries to know whether they do the same but I hear they do. So you need to factor that into any calculations.
      Hope that helps.

    I have Eddi and Zappi but due to walls in my house the Eddi does not pick up the Zappi. So if you are thinking of the system make sure all the units can communicate with each other.
    Great video.
    Great show on saturday. I'm not the only one blown away by it.

      Hi Des,
      With a harvi and the newer versions Eddi and/orZappi you can make all the devices talk to each other. A great solution in my opinion and as Derek explains, it is great that all the components talking to each other.

      @@PAKAAO-iq3ff yes agree but my zappi is 20m from the eddi with no clear line of sight and 2 block walls in the way. I need to extend the eddy's aerial to th attic to get a clear line of sight to allow communication.

    Tks Derek, myenergi make good stuff - I've got the Zappi & harvi, the app works perfectly every time.
    Great show last Saturday BTW, indoor & loads of time to get a good look inside & out of the cars 👍

    Can't find the pricing on the web page. I'm trying to find out if it makes sense to get without solar panels. All I'd want to do is to make sure I always use the night rate. Would like to see how many years it'll take for this to pay for itself in case the electricity prices go back to approx 20c day / 10c night. (so 10c saving per kW during the day). Would be looking at 5kWh and 10kWh options.

    Brilliant video Derek. Definitely interested in this battery. Is the tesla power wall coming to Ireland?

    • @Eire369
      @Eire369 8 месяцев назад +1

      The GivEnergy All in One is the equivalent of the Tesla and much better value.. I'm running it since last Autumn and it's brilliant, 13.5kWh battery storage and continuous power even during power outages. Comes with a 12 year warranty as well which is more than any other battery / inverter manufacturers

    Why is there no pricing information for the libbi on the myenergi website. Need some indication for budgeting/comparison.

    I’m considering one of these. Can anyone tell me if the blackout backup works for all circuits in the home? The myenergi website says, ‘Optional blackout backup, to maintain power to a dedicated circuit in the event of a power cut.’ so not terribly clear if that means just some of your domestic sockets on ‘one circuit’ or all power.
    Thank you.

    Very interesting thank you very much. Question: in the event of a power failure are you allowed to isolate your system from the ESB network or grid? If yes: what energy flow are you allowed drain from the battery system to run some are all of your house? Regards Séamus

    • @desobrien7357
      @desobrien7357 8 месяцев назад +1

      You have to get a special switch installed to prevent power from your house going back down the line and electrocuting someone working on it. You also need esb to approve (at a cost). Hope that is helpful.

    • @Eire369
      @Eire369 8 месяцев назад

      You have to get the ESB to install an isolator unit in your meter board if your having this installed.. there was no charge for this. The GivEnergy system allows your solar system to produce power during a power outage

    The solar panels need to be black. A few companies are selling panels with silver trim and they look dreadful on the roof. Real eyesores.

    Where I live I tried to get a range of myEnergi products installed as a package including a Zappi. The moment I asked for two harvi boxes and a bill of materials on the quote the installers I engaged walked away. Twice.
    One said “the quote is the quote and we’re not changing it nor are we giving you a bill of materials

    Exceptionally poor value. Powerwall is cheaper with better thermal management with more features. Victron solution is less than half the price and is more flexible. Both alternatives come with real support rather than Myenergi's which this year has been very poor.
