Stranded in the rain, no money and no phone, you'll need to find help if you want to get home tonight.
(You have NO IDEA how long I've been trying to write this one. But I think I finally got the character right, he just wants to help. Vampires are super fun for audios but also there are SO many videos with them that I wanted to make sure I do it right. Which I guess also means a bunch of lore that admittedly probably didn't need to be there... this one is a little more rambly, and you can expect more of it in the next one.
ANYWAY I finally have my very own vampire audio I'm so excited hehe. Make sure you wear headphones! It's binaural! The rain sounds so much better in both ears. Oh to be a vampire at a bus stop in a big city on the way home from the night shift...)

Love the little hints: the 15 mile walks (done in an hour xD), the sensitive hearing and smell, the long trips that seem to have an eeriness to them. Just sprinkled around in the right places!

I loved this, especially talking about how the speaker toured Europe. My thought immediately leaped to after finding out they’re a vampire. “So you said you toured Europe with a friend, did you visit Romania, specifically where Transylvania was? I was wondering if you went there to visit your Uncle Dracula. Ba dum tss.” I would give anything to hear their response to that. 😂
having shameful flashbacks to the first time i went clubbing and this very situation happened to me, no vampires tho, which is incredibly unfortunate 😔

@tanukiaudios hehe, the delightful thing about being one too many fruity drinks under the table, my flatmates (who I had only known for an hour prior to getting sloshed) and I decided to go on a treasure hunt around the town, even tho i had definitely not been anywhere in the town that night 😌
I am now the keeper of a very blurry image of a gingerbread recipe stuck to the wall that was allegedly queen elizabeth I's favourite, and a 20 minute video of one of my aforementioned flatmates sobbing on the floor next to the kebab she dropped during our 3am endeavours. that video is most definitely my finest piece of cinematography, no doubt about that
less fun part was having to do the walk of shame the next night to have the very pretty security lady give me the look™️ when I had to ask if my stuff had survived the night (which, thankfully, it had)
@lyechii Sounds like SUCH an adventurous evening actually, that's awesome. 20 whole minutes of sobbing over dropped food is so real, I think the rest of the night would be worth it just for that vid. You should try to make the cookies sometime, sounds tastyy hehe

This whole thing was so good!! My favourite parts were when the listener started crying and your voice went soft (that was so sweet) and at the end when Vampnuki was struggling to control his urges!! The suspensful music!!!
There were little vampire things i noticed like obviously prefering when the Sun is down but also Vampnuki being able to walk really fast! The pale skin and Romania being the last stop on the trip??? Maybe thats where he turned 🤔

okay, wow. i know i said that i'd wait until the morning to post my thoughts but i reaaaally wanna say this. even though this is only part one, the script definitely has me tuned in! in my own case, coming up with random scenarios is not so easy, but you do it flawlessly! obviously, you're putting in a lot of effort for us to enjoy, and i have to give you another clap. and i'm a little bit curious, where do you start when coming up with scripts? do you already have a faint idea of it and just let your mind run as you write, or do you list a few things you'd like to bring up beforehand? either way, it's really well put together, and really keeps me invested!
i'm kind of into writing, and dialogue is my favourite part of it! a lot of people think it's the thing with the least-required effort, but it's a little difficult making up a conversation that you want audiences to enjoy and pay attention to. honestly, tanuki, you make it seem like it comes to you naturally, even if it doesn't! somehow i genuinely forgot i was listening to a video for a moment! thanks so much for this, can't wait for the next part tomorrow!!
@vroomvroomvroom889 I saw your first comment so I was surprised to see this one!! Ah thank you for saying so! Spoiler, there's an outro at the end of the next part where I talk a little about it but I've actually been picking at this idea for months haha. Had the initial idea of "you ask a stranger for directions at night and he turns out to be a vampire" like ages ago but I wasn't really sure where to take it up until a few days ago. I knew I wanted a vampire vid because that's so fundamental to VA channels but also I'm bored of the typical treatment of brooding, aloof, and seductive that vampires in fiction usually get. So I wanted to write this character to be distinct in his own way while still playing with some of the tropes, y'know?
When I start writing scripts though, I start at that initial idea of a setup, and then I write a little outline for it. The first thing is to figure out the 'big moment' that the audio should build up to and then I kinda go backwards from there? But it varies usually. And after I get the skeleton together and start writing, the character changes and develops more details and usually I go back through and rearrange some points. It evolves as I go!
Omg yes, speaking from firsthand, dialogue can be so hard to get right!! Especially with writing for like audio drama bc if you just say what's going on, that's just an audiobook and it's not as engaging. If I can find the sweet spot for who a character is and I vibe with them, they become super easy to write. Buuut otherwise it does NOT come naturally ha. Takes lots of effort to break through and actually get the story going the way I want it to, I'm sure you get how it goes hehe.
More depth to come in the next one! It's quite a bit longer...hope you enjoy :)
@@tanukiaudios ah, thank you so much! i'm a little tired of the "brooding and seductive vampire" type too, so i'm a little glad that you took your character away from that stereotype and put your own kind of spin on him! making him a little more timid and not so outgoing and "dangerous", it's a nice change!
i understand how you write it now, and honestly, it seems a little bit easier than the "improvise and then redraft" technique that i did for a while, heh! having a skeleton seems like you have something to lay back on, something to refer to. thanks for telling me! and yeah, i totally get how making way for the story to get through really is! it's definitely not as easy as people make it look!
also i really like your outros, i will not lie. just hearing you talk for a little bit directly to us as a, sort of "refresher", i'd call it. more reason to be excited for tomorrow's video! thank you, tanuki, again, and i'll see you then!

This was phenomenal! I usually don't like most vampire audios and I was very interested in hearing what you created with this theme in mind. It was great! Your character was so charming and lovable and I wanted to hear more of the story immediately. And the sound design was stellar, as always. You create such high quality audios and the visuals on screen always pair lovely with them. Truly a delightful treat!
